Sup Friends! So I Tried to do bantu knots for the first time. I think I did a good job with the bantu knot, but I'm not to sure on the bantu knot out part. If you think sleeping on bantu knots is hard, imagine sleeping on flex-rods and large perm rods. It is the woooooorst. I literally have to sleep on my chin or fold up my pillow high enough for me to lay on my face and have my hair hang off the side😭

Give Bantu Knots a chance. Don't be discouraged by it. It's a style with kind-of-a learning curve.
I've been doing Bantu Knot since I was a kid and love them. I have done the traditional style (which you did in this video). I have found that they make a tight curly spiral pattern. Not bad for your first time though, Gio. 😊
NOTE: When the hair is wet, Bantu Knots will be more definded than when they are done on dry hair.
Try this variation to see if you like it.
I have also done a variation of this Bantu style, as well, by braiding the hair into single braids first in larger sections then coiling each braid into the Bantu Knot style. (***The larger the braid the looser the curl or wave pattern.***) This will give a different more relaxed look with a bit more of wave rather than curl.
*** Important: When twisting your Bantu Knots, Don't twist the hair tight, just twist comfortably and neatly. You don't want to irritate your scalp or damage your hair follicles with excessive pulling or tugging. ***
The last component, is when you take down the Bantu Knots you need to style the hair. Separate the Bantu Knots then runs your fingers through it from root to tip. This will help to separate the hair better, loosen up curls or waves and give a little natural volume to your hair. It's all in the styling.
***Sleeping Tip:
Either sleep on your sides in a fetal position, or on yor tummy. (Example: like when you are on a Spa Table or on a Physical Therapy table.) You can place an extra pillow under your abdomen. This will level out your spine and help to take pressure off your head, neck and spine. Hope this is helpful.

Use a comb with a thin handle, the comb they call rat tail comb or the first tooth of a wide tooth comb :)

Bantu knot outs are always such a hit or miss style. I think because they weren't dry, that's what made it not come out as great, but they are definitely so hard to sleep with so I understand why you didn't wanna wait another day lol. You easily get an A+ for effort though cause the knots themselves were done so well!
I think you did a fabulous job and considering you gave up Sleep and Time for us your subscribers thank you. I loved it but there is no way I would do it again either if I had your hair length. I have short hair and I wouldn’t do it because it takes too long. I also wouldn’t do flexi rods nor perm rods and let them air dry because that’s worse than the Bantu knots. Trust me. If I do say so myself sir you get an A+ for your time effort and willingness to give us your subscribers what we want. You are every females dream, a life size doll with long luxurious hair that we can put into so many different hair styles. I have a similar curl pattern, and Jesus Christ. Mad props. That is sooooooo much work to have that length. And so much product. I chopped mine all off because of how much work it is to maintain. Cudos on the level of maintenance and commitment you've got going here.

LOL yes you could so tell that he was WAY over it. Plus with his hair type its much easier for him to just rock his natural curls. Its faster, and usually the main reason for Bantu Knots is to add style while stretching the hair. Which again he truly doesn't need. I'm sure he had a headache from all of this for a lil bit. I thought it was just me who doesn't like bantu knots. You can't sleep comfortably, they take 5 years to dry 😂😂, and the curls come out way too tight.

Oh wow I got a sew in once a few years ago and it looked just like that! Having a sew-in wasn't for me but the texture looks so good on you. When I tried Bantu knots on my natural hair the curls never separated like that, they always clump/matte together and create a lot of frizz when I try to separate them. I have type 4 hair btw.
