To Celebrate, we spent 24 hours straight at Carlisle Station. This is Part 2 between 00:00 and 12:00, March 7.
Huge thanks to @AvantiWestCoastRail for special permission to stay on the station overnight so we didn't miss a thing. An overnighter hasn't been done by anyone at Carlisle for quite a few years so please enjoy this rare footage.

Oh BOY that was well worth waiting for I have to say. Brilliant from start to finish & nice to see so many class 90's still in use. My friend your other videos are great but this one blows them out of the water in my opinion 😊

I counted 47 transits , another cracking video. Peterborough busy for freight, would be a good location for a 24hr stay.
I need to have another count, I keep going between 45 and 47 haha. I need to go and do a reccy down at Peterborough, it keeps coming up in suggestions!

...and a bonus hour to catch the d-h 56 on logs! Great stamina...and nice timing on the incoming 66 and outgoing 70 at 10.22am 😉

even better during the nighttime. Enjoyed the empty logs, sleepers and GBRf 92.
I counted 47 Ford Transits including the Ford Transit Connects.

Well you made it. Surprised you didnt hide way in a waiting room - or perhaps you did! Definitely needs stamina! I would have been asleep before the sleepers! Maybe in the summer!
Just about mate, was dead by the end. Did get a quick 40 winks lying on the benches in the waiting room on platform 4. Again was great to bump into you and chat about CZcams and stuff, will hopefully get back up again soon!
Cracking part 2. Brings back memories of the.overnighters.
Good variety of stuff where. Is your next adventure. Rugby Peterborough ,Nuneaton would be great. Think you would have to enquire for permission again not sure though. Kèep it up.👌

I take it no-one told you about the Ghosts before you decided on the overnighter. Luckily the footbridge was open. The lift underpass is a creepy old place mate. Been stuck on that Station many times coming home on leave in the 70's waiting to cadge a lift off the early morning paper vans, spooky. Followed part 1 enjoyed part 2 cheers Diggle really enjoying your other stuff too, subscribed.
Thankfully no-one had mate haha. Bet that was fun back in the day jumping in with the papers.
@@DiggleJunction 04:30 van from Carlisle to Workington helping the driver on his deliveries. The Station in those days was a dreary dirty old place still with the remnants of steam. Most night shift staff wouldn't venture under the Station for a gold clock, I've done the tour, this old hairy arsed warrior got the wind up a few times lol. I can still remember 9F's rolling in from Leeds a shunter leaping on the footplate while the driver and his mate leapt off to catch last orders on Botchergste

Really enjoyed that one Luke! Glad they left the lights on or it would have been really spooky! The GBRF 92 on the sleeper looked stunning! Who was the small operator, I couldn't make out the branding. Lost count of the Transits when the train stopped, but it looked like the world's supply of the things was on there! Excellent video once again! 😊
Cheers mate, yeah really glad they kept them on haha. The small operator is Veramis Rail, a new mail startup. The stop kept messing up my count too haha.
Great stamina Luke . Counted 42 Transits I think . Colas leaves Grangemouth with 18 tanks but Dalston can only take 6 at a time . Great to see so many 90s .

Thanks Colin, the bingo sheets do take a lot of effort but it's good to do something a bit extra for these special episodes. Keeps it interesting for the longer stints. Still got some organising to do for 5k but should be announcing it soon.

Excellent second part of the 24 hours in Carlisle Luke, I really enjoyed this one must be my favourites so far. Must have been eerie being alone on the station when it was closed to the public. Thanks Katrina, was very strange I must say. Was so quiet when no trains were passing through! Hoping to do something a bit different for 5k if it all works out, will still be a 24 hours though!
Thanks again for bringing this overnighter episode to us Luke. Those tanks that dip down in the middle always make me smile and it's the first time I've seen a northbound empty log formation too. I just love the sound of 68s!

Must be easily yeah! If every vehicle was 10 grand (which in 2024 I very much doubt haha) it would be close to 900k.
Another 24 hours completed, well done. Great variety and a good number of movements in the small hours making it all worthwhile. Can't wait for the next one for 5000 subscribers.

Once did a overnight at Crewe stn many yrs ago, Plenty of mail trains with cl85, 86s and 87s

Hi Luke, firstly thanks for highlighting the bingo wins, this is much easier to follow. Second I thought there were 49 Transits, but not sure if the little vans should be in or not 😳? Great to see the sleepers, nice a quiet apart from their brakes! - you don’t see many on Mr Gilpin,s channel, but I guess it is past his bedtime like most of us. I know it is a tough ask to do 24 hours, but you produce a sterling piece of work not often captured especially at night. Oh look you already have 5K, so where next?

Well done luke another great video I do enjoy them with regard to the Sleepers did they pick up passengers or has that stopped now they close the station
Cheers mate, a couple of the sleepers passed straight through but the ones that do stop can pickup and drop off passengers. They open up the station for 15 mins ish around when it’s due.
