“Cant tie a knot, tie a lot!” Im sooo stealing that line lol
Same here 😂
Tie a many knot if y can't tie a knot.. lol.. I've used that line on so many green horns over the years on the commercial fishing vesels I worked on over the past 35 yrs. Scallop, squid, sea bass, fluke, skup. Missing it alot since 2029. Hey how can I get a crab shirt Skipper????
It took my moms husband one time to say that to me.. after that day I learned how to tie all kinds off knots. I laughed in embarrassment 😂😂😂
Me to
I always use way to my ratchet straps when I’ve got load but when I’m asked why I have/use so many I say “because it’s cheaper than an insurance deductible” or even just screwing someone else’s day up.
"...gave you a zero percent chance of doing that," "those are pretty good odds to me"
Man your optimism knows no bounds
😊
Then the neighbor comes out to ask for his boat back 😂😂
So you’re saying I’ve got a chance
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He said "about zero." Which means there's a chance
@ryanlueth1510 excellent catch there!!!! He didn't say Zero...he said "about" hence referencing a number other then 0
"We have a plan, it's not a good one." Those are usually the best plans.😂
Having a bad plan is better than no plan.
Somehow, 'I love it when a plan comes together!", seems wholly appropriate, lol! 😂😂😂
I was thinking the same exact thing lol
Haha that is most of my life

You're totally right. Two weeks after I bought my first boat, a guy at the gas station told me the same thing. Now, after owning it for 3 years, his words echo through my mind. 😢

@@rohanlandalots and lots of money to restore vs a little maintenance here and there on a nice boat
Yup. After buying one for what I thought was a good deal....the boat place called me up cuz I was getting it summerized...
Kept calling me with problems...at 2200.00 bucks I said "if you call me one more time… I will plant it in my front yard use for a flower pot and call it a day!"
😂 Cash traps.
Now ALL the switches, wiring, electronics…anything electrical, engine needs work, but I have to admit I really enjoy this part because now I can set it all up the way I would have wanted it to begin with. Congratulations. Nice project. Will be awesome when done.
This likely will be a miserable, headache, waste of time, sold to the next dummy who thinks he's saving money by doing it himself, but it ends up a money pit with little enjoyment after the first year. A terrible investment, terrible toy, honeymoon period wears off quickly & becomes a mistake for 95+% of owners.
Thankfully, I listened to other's stories. Don't lie, best day off your life will be when you sell it for half price. That's why the owner gave it away.
Growing up on my grandfather's farm, One of the important things that he tough me was ( Never expect a handout, an always try to lend a helping hand. ). Cause one day you may need it too.
He didn’t teach you how to spell
So you’re essentially saying dont expect help from others but help them if they need it? I get the idea but sheesh
I think that’s a good way to teach a child but maturing is realizing that you should help others selflessly. Everything is equal in our universe so because so much bad happens for no reason we must counter it with good for no reason but simply to be good for

That’s a great philosophy, “when the neighbors need help, give ‘em a hand” my uncle was a 6”5’ outlaw, biker from West Philadelphia. One mischief night someone poured tar all over his Cadillac. His African-American neighbor “Mr. Harvey” didn’t particularly like my uncle, but came out and helped him get the tar off of his car with a solution he had in his garage. The two of them became good friends, and looked out for each other till the day my uncle died. Thank you Mr. Harvey and God bless you and God bless my uncle Jim RIP….

Some of mine don't even say hi... damn shame cause a block party sounds legit rn.
I live in Rhode Island and i lost my home to a fire and i bought my home when i was pregnant with my twins. We had it for 12 years and it was small but it was my first house we owned and it was the ugliest but it only took about two months and made it the nicest. I am happy the kids were in school when the fire happened. I was at work and the husband was at walmart. Some stranger walking the streets saw the smoke and our dog was in the window so my front door got kicked in and my dog was let loose which i was happy she was alive. But i wish i was home when the fire started then my life wouldn't of turned into a nightmare. I found out we had no insurance and in order to repair our home we had to pay out of pocket. So we did start buying materials needed and drained our savings on hotel, we had to buy the kids and myself new cloths ours wore on the kitchen table thats where i fold them and separate and the kids put away when the get home from school. And all the cloths gone😢 then living in the hotel we stopped paying full amount on mortgage to help pay for hotel, food, etc then dcyf came to the hotel to see if the kids were ok. I explained kids were in school and no one was home time of the fire. They seemed nice they brought the kids games and gift card to walmart to buy the kids what they needed so my dad passed away 3 weeks after my fire. My mom died when i was only 32. I was a daddy's girl and i then got my car of my dreams repo this car was my dream car and my husband bought it for me. This is a car i can't ever buy again. We paid $ 32,000 on it and we should of paid for the car off when we bought it but the guy who sold it to us said i had no credit and i should not pay it in full take a loan for $ 15 grand. So i got the loan and paid monthly until the fire. I only owed $ 2 grand on it and i didn't know who towed the car but i called the bank that gave me the loan they told me they will call be back and set up a new payment plan so that was good but 10 days later the bank hasn't called me back so i do some research and found out it was auctioned off. I went into bad depression. Then dcyf came back to the hotel and took my kids away !!! They said i was homeless but at the time we were living in the hotel and our house. They put my kids into foster care and my son was sexually molested and i couldn't take it and tryed to end it. I am fighting to get my kids back we lost our home we ran out of money the house needed more and more things to be fixed. Then found a house we rented while going to court for my kids. We finally got the judge to see i don't drink,do drugs or even it my kids. To rip them from me was horrible i cryed day and night. I went threw miscarriages and 5 ivf cycles before having my son. Then less than 2 years after my son was born i had my twins. I felt like my prayers were answered i was finally a mom and loved it. We started family traditions like easter eggs, birthday parties, apple picking and pumpkin picking then Thanksgiving with family and friends then we made christmas cookies for family and friends and then we picked out fresh christmas tree and on Christmas eve i would get the kids ready for bed and then we jump on my bed and i read them the night before Christmas just like my dad did for me as a child. I was truly blessed until dcyf stepped into my life. I then found out the kids were going to be reunification with us !! Finally then i get a note taped to my front door that the land lord sold the house we were living in and asked us if we wanted to stay and we did. We meet the new land lord he moved in up stairs ( the house is a 2 family) and after 3 months of the new land lord owning the house he get told we need to move out due to he needed a family member to move in. Now the judge is giving us the kids back and i am homeless. We live pay check to pay check. I had 2 jobs until covid i was working almost 60 hours a week and my husband is on disability. I need help and posted for help with housing the judge gave us until the next ccourt date to find a new place to live. I put my name and story in the libraries for help and churches for help then i am on waiting lists for low income housing and some of these waiting lists have a 5 years wait. I wish i could get help i can't lose my kids. I have no family both parents passed away and no grandparents so i am trying to get my story out there and pray to God someone will see this and can help me in any way😢
"When a neighbor needs help, give them a hand". Thats a VERY good man right there!
No he's not because his intentions were of greed and not of help at all
@@draiyko He recovered the boat. Then he asked if the guy wanted to sell it. Even if the owner said No, the boat was still recovered. So take a hike spike, your a loser.
I had an old friend who had a Chris Craft cabin cruiser (40 to 50 ft I'm guessing) that he kept moored in a slip at the lake, and it needed to be dry-docked for hull repair, as it had developed a slow leak.
He didn't have time to get to it, so he had two float controlled bilge pumps plugged into shore power (2 purely for redundancy) and yet, every now and then, he'd get a call from neighbors or a manager telling him his boat had sunken again, and was about to damage the slips.
Once because the extension cord came unplugged, another time the power was out for over a day and the pumps were too far behind the curve to catch up and outrun the rate of inflow, and other times trash blocked the pump inlets and caused them to fail, etc.
I helped him unsink that thing a couple different times with 2 and 3 inch trash pumps. But the 3 engines being underwater so many times (2 flathead stern-drive V8s and a 4 cylinder generator) and the collective water damage to the hull both inside and out, along with the cabin damage, etc, and the boat was just a discouragingly expensive project awaiting execution...
(Chris Craft boats were 100% wooden boats from the 40s and 50s era... beautiful machines! )
He made the right choice when he cut his losses and sold it off to somebody you had the time and means to fix her up right in a full dry restoration.
Friend of mine has a 40’ or 42’ steel Chris craft roamer from the early 60s. I’ve cruised Lake of the Woods end to end countless time on it. Amazing boat!
He should have done that before it sank all those times how stupid to do it after all the damage was done

Lots of times, bad stuff just happens, like that boat sinking. This lesson is how to see the opportunity and work hard to create the best outcome.
Woke up at our camp site to see the boat across the inlet sitting on the bottom. Owner had left the drain plug out.
Got two guys on each dock. Slipped a rope under front and back. Raised it to the gunnells and started bailing. Got it up in no time.
Owner took the moter apart and back together that day... on the water that evening!!!

Wonder where this is . I see the boat is registered in Missouri . I grew up at Lake of the Ozarks but those don’t look like the docks there for the most part .
We had a guy in the back of our cove who we saw almost every day take his beautiful 1963 Century Resorter with the rolling top and the carrier deck ( like the front of an aircraft carrier ) out the cove setting on the gunnel like a stud ( not that it’s a smart thing to do) and he would come back on in the evening . One day my dad is fishing in the back of the cove and it’s up on the lift with a for sale sign on her . My dad bought that gorgeous boat for $500.00 ! Best ski boat we every had , big V8 would yank your ass outta the water on your slalom ski no damn problem . Loved that boat ! At start up it would shoot the water out the exhaust about twenty feet with that deep throaty exhaust!
Those beauties can go well over $50K or higher now days ! Wish he would have kept her ;(
nice boat very nice! Also the dam that controls the height of the lake broke, and the lake ROSE UP. You guys are awesome. You need your own TV show.❤❤
to my understanding if a boat is sunken, and you can prove that you pulled it out of the water to the coast guard and another agency or w/e, you legally become captain. my coworker told me something about that since he was in boat transportation for a few decades
If your trying to apply salvage law to peoples personal boats then you've definitely misunderstood the intent of the law. Especially since everywhere in it it says a "abandoned vessle" if you think a boat at a dock is abandoned just because it's sunk your a idiot. Also no salvage law doesn't say you get to keep the boat anyways. It says you must be cominsated based on value and risk. But "In the case of a derelict vessel the title remains in the owner, with a temporary right of occupancy for salvage in the finder"
Salvage law is basically a littering fee for the ocean. If you try to apply it in little bays like this your almost certain gonna get a civil lawsuit for theft. Especially since you dony know how to do it legally even if it was in sea
Love it dude
