Mr. M’s best one liners, “This just goes from bad to worse hangin’ out with you.” Mr.M has the dry sense of humor we can all appreciate. Also, in the dozen or so episodes I have seen this mine is the first one where I have seen plywood used by the miners.
I worked at a mine where we lost two men despite our best efforts at safety. This particular episode had some seriously scary shit. Hope we don't have a memorial episode someday.
Any points in particular for someone like me with absolutely no experience (and doesn't intend to start!) but who wants to watch with a deeper understanding? Thanks!
@@kimchi_b First, Natural Selection applies to humans. Rock 3'x3'x3' weighs over 3,000 lbs. It only needs to fall 1' to kill you. When the rock support is failing as shown in this episode you're in a bad place. The boys doing this film are about 3 cards short of a full deck. The worse part is good people will show up to retrieve your body putting them at risk.

Besides using one of my favorite hobbies to help me physically and mentally recover from the ravishes of chemotherapy I had one goal in mind and that was to make A&FP the best quality and most entertaining and informative mine exploring channel on CZcams. Along the way I’ve made some great new friends and I’ve listened to the majority of my subscribers who’ve helped me tremendously in shaping the channel into what you see today. As we continue forward into 2021 and beyond I will always be improvising and improving the channel with new technologies and equipment raising the bar higher and higher in the abandoned mine exploring genre. Mr. M.: Can cats climb ladders? Answer: Yes. My two cats have for a few times watched me climb the ladder to my loft bed. After about possibly four times they began to climb after me and now does so when ever they want on the bed. I am sure they inherently can climb ladders as they are natural climbers, they just likely need a demonstration.
Had a cat when I was younger that climbed the wooden siding of the house and then into a second story window.. Basically if they can grip it they can climb it
Great mine! Good tour and I really liked your explanation on the 'bacon' and rock bolts .. last talc mine I was in was full of them .. and now I have an idea of the mine age! I see the bacon and rock bolts I usually get a lot more careful. Mind you I'm only going in a set distance because I'm usually by myself. I do have a 100' climbing rope and a climbing harness but I only use that to safely look down shafts .. I was a rock climber years ago .. 75 now. If you guys ever get over by Tucson I have a few mines you could check out.
This reminds me of when I was working in the Gold mines in S.A. and had to go to old working to reclaim equipment the layout and dangers just the same and makes me feel young again watching you guys, take care in your adventures
I wouldn't be surprised if someone trophy killed the animal and threw what was left down the shaft. People up here in north idaho kill deer and elk and cut their heads off for the antlers and leave the carcass full of meat. It really pisses me off.

Your intro theme music starts my day and has been stuck in my head for a few days now and I don't mind at all. Very 'Pirates-esque'. "Don't worry Mr M, in the 80's I was a secret agent bone detective bomb expert climber pyrotechnician" - Mr M must remember that the viewers want to see and explore as much as possible vicariously, him being scared or grossed out is fun to watch for a minute but he shouldn't stop you from showing us stuff to it's safe fullest.

@@eduardopossebom6762 Invest in an oxygen monitor. There's a video on youtube showing a few guys nearly died going into a recently dug out mine, I think it was an Emerald mine in Brazil. Used an excavator to re-open entrance. First one just barely inside passed out promptly and dropped. Guy tried to help him and collapsed also. Luckily several people were there to pull them back out. They were only in maybe 20 feet.

My first thought too. Getting a tag to hunt one is really difficult so I would bet there is a number of folks who would want a skull for a mount.
