Transformers Prime was my childhood. I was so excited to hear it was getting a sequel series. So imagine my disappointment when this is what I got.

RID should've been a sequel where Smokescreen becomes the leader of his own set of autobots and his journey to become a good leader. It would've been a good full circle moment to see him become this well-respected autobot in the end like he envisioned, but they just HAD to revive Optimus

They do Optimus dirty in this show, all the training to defeat Megatronus and he’s beat in one fight while Megatron was never beat even in eons

They also made him an old frail grandpa who tries to be cool and is inconsiderate of Bumblebee’s feelings on who should be leader.

Tbh, 1 of if not the only scenes I enjoyed in this whole series was Soundwave coming out of the shadowzone and beating Bumblebee and his team.
12:21 actually they were in the Shadow zone episode where Soundwave pulls up and basically shit stomped Bee strong arm and grim and threw Bee in the Shadow zone portal then later he said “Come on Bee think what did Jack Miko and Raf do when they were stuck in the shadow zone Their cell phones radio waves”
I used to like this show because I watched rescue bots at the same time, I liked rescue bots a little bit more but allot of stuff confused me, I saw a few episodes of tfp but I didn’t expect robots in disguise to be the sequel, it’s kind of sad for the people that grew up on tfp. It kind of makes me sad that what made my childhood ruined others.

I feel like this show tried to combine prime and rescue bots into one but failed miserably by trying so hard to have a plot I'm still confused as to how optimus survived literally after he sacrificed himself to save cybertron for him to return to this show, bumble bee looks way off I miss him having just not talk and have a beep voice but still be someone that's a trusted alley of optimus, starscream and megatron is alright but it's annoying when the show over use their bickering and on top of that makes fun of starscreams death by making megatron open up a stream and mock him, I miss starscream's persistent personality where he tries to become leader everytime megatron is about to die and Soundwave was just done dirty.

What's funny about the people always believing the transformers are animatronics or something is that the humans should already know there's some transformer shit going on. And not just the military. This is aligned, meaning it's during Rescue Bots and obviously after Prime. The Rescue Bots already CONFIRMED THEY WERE ALIENS, and Megatron BOMBED CASPER NEVADA. *EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS ABOUT TRANSFORMERS*

yeah he did but it was a blink once and you'll miss it type of scene, thats why some people thought they wee never mentioned, but its insulting to the fans that bumblebee didn't even try to reconnect or contact raf in RID and it made it worse that they went back to the old autobot base from prime and didn't go to see if raf still lived in the area i honestly thought RID was an ok show but I agree it was a crappy sequel to prime and i understand why people despise this show.
The thing I like about this show, which isn't necessarly a good thing I just find it fun, is that in any transformers show when optimus appears on screen, in a fight or just doing his quote thing we get excited and are happy to have him on screen. Now when he appears in 2015 RID my reaction is kinda like "Aw shit not dis dude again"
Soundwave would try to find Megatron and become his assistant in whatever he was doing instead of trying to get him back, or just follow his life and do anything more "efficient".
What’s worse is it had potential but it feels like it was at war with itself from the moment it started. Even if we did get the Optimus-less/ Non-connected to Prine one that the head producer wanted, it still would have been a mediocre show.
I remember everyone pondering over why Bee seemed to be demoted and why every villain of the week was referred to a Decepticon when a lot of them were obviously not. Only to learn about the governing council and its dislike of Team Prime, then all the pieces started to fall into place and everyone started thinking “That’s why!”, “it all makes sense now!”
Then they decided to make the Council secret Decepticons😢 and then one of the head writers did a Q&A and revealed that nope all the prisoners were actually Decepticons from the war just obscure ones and not petty thieves and disgruntled citizens just labeled as such because the Council treated all rule breakers like they were terrorists.
I remember so many people were just so pissed by the writing team’s total lack of imagination. 😂😢
And well the “Starscream” thing never happened and a lot of people just go by the Japanese version of the episode schedule that ended after Season 1. 😅

When i was younger and watched prime and I saw robots in disguise I loved it now when I watched it again I still love prime but how can robots in disguise be a sequel??? It don’t deserve to be a sequel
I remember when I first robots in disguise when it first aired on CN, after the first 5 Mims a gut feeling in me told me this, "They're gonna ruin it by catering to much younger kids aren't they?", now I'm not saying that Transformers has the deepest writing or anything, but og Transformers didn't dumb its writing so only kids age 6 and below will enjoy it. If they wanted to make another Transformers series, there are a lot of materials they can sink their teeth to that have a story that differs from Transformers Prime that they can adapt, or even make a prequel to the story with the original 13 primes. Just wait a few years after Transformers Prime concluded and then release the new series so that it doesn't feel cheap

Grimlock is NOT alright. Isn't TFP supposed to tie in with the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron video games? Fall of Cybertron Grimlock was a badass warrior that was experimented on by Shockwave and turned into a beast but was STILL shown to be intelligent in the comics even after being experimented on. But now they SCRAPPED that for some reason and made a new Grimlock that's green, an Ex-Decepticon, and is fucking stupid. Why is no one talking about this???

they made grimlock afraid of cats..
They included Strongarm in the 2023 IDW comic “Last Bot Standing” along with Steel-jaw and they’re better than their RID counterparts. Steel-jaw lives in a future where there is no energon so he eats organic beings, sometimes alive and takes joy in killing humanoid aliens. Like he’s great. Strongarm is in like 4 panels than horribly dies and it’s beautiful.

This would’ve been so much better if all the characters were new and the show was exploring the next generation of autobots and decepticons, that way the original characters wouldn’t have been butchered like this!

Starscream and Soundwave are actually the only decent things to come from the show. Their designs kickass and the toy alt modes are serviceable.

I still have one question about this show soundswave showed up 2 times the first time he had his OG prime look and I was actually hyped for a second but suddenly he shows up 1 or 2 seasons later looking like he was bench pressing the whole time in the shadow zone like tf what happened and since when is it possible to just creat a bridge to the shadow zone just like that so many questions… for such a waste of a time show.

when I watch RID i was a little bit happy because i saw optimus back (even they ruined Prime's sacrifice in the last TFP scene but i was happy ) but after watching the next episode i say "what's this f*ck this's not optimus!!" they present optimus as weak and wiseless.

Yeah, after Optimus came back, and Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, Legendary Cybertronian, who spent YEARS being trained by the other Primes... got fucking wrecked immediately, what the absolute fuck was this bullshit, I had to just turn it off, I literally have not seen past the episode where Optimus came back.
And what’s worse is he gets beat by Decepticons that he can just step on

Im sorry to sideswipe stans, but i personally think sideswipe is FUCKING annoying. He's smokescreen but worse ‼️ hes sometimes has a point when telling strongarm to stop w the rules and stuff but he's still pretty.. irritating, i understand strongarms pain to deal with him, how he isnt responsible and how he isnt obeying bumblebee sometimes and just listen to music just kills me, but when he found a rolemodel he was okay, along when how he saved windblade in s2, but how he also disrespected optimus and disrespected his stories hurt me, and how he called him "pops" also made me mad tbhtbh..
And i think the only thing that kept the fandom alive was the gacha vids, the edits, tiktoks, fanfics, stories, and others. And imo, the best characters were drift, his minicons, windblade, and grimlock. Plus i also like how they added 2 autobot girls to team bee, which made me a bit happy.
(note: i personally love and hate tfrid, but its characters and funniest scenes were cool, the humans were also nice, and no hate pls, these r just my opinions !!)

I don't hate RID but I got more sour with it while growing up and considering Prime. The insanely contrasting comedic tone shoulda been standalone rather than be connected with Prime. What a painfully mediocre show in my opinion

He was stuck in a chair and the Predacons were surrounding him

@@TheGreatSoundwave yeah I looked up the scene (I haven’t seen the movie in a while) the best thing he could have done is to fire his missiles to make a smokescreen then jump up, transform and fly up over the chair but they could grab him while he transforms/ shoot him with there blasters or they could just chase after him in there Altmodes
(depending on how fast they are compared to starscream in jet mode)
I had to make a lot of leaps in logic to be able to Come up with a way for him to escape WITH his jet mode which he doesn’t use in RBID flashbacks

G1 was my childhood than beast wars took a minute but I settled into it coming home from school than beast machines and I was like “😢” than I discovered prime one day and wow I wasn’t a big fan of new stuff but I bought the dvds and beast hunters with once again Optimus and his heroic sacrifice for his fellow autobots to bring Cybertron to life.But this show…..huh…..

Everything about TFRID is bad or just mediocre it fails in almost every aspect to be a TFP sequel most of or all TFP designs were scrapped bumblebees design is the worst in my opinion and he has almost no leadership experience or experience in general he is a brat when he isn’t the leader and story wise it gets stale but some designs are actually alright (starscream and windblade and that one lobster dude)
And he doesn’t ever improve as a leader because every episode is exactly the same just with a new villain

I seen both this and Transformers: Energon and trust me, Energon is far far worse. Every character from Armada and the early portion of Energon ended with complete opponent personalities. Starscream lost his memories and became Megatron's loyal suck up. Demolisher went from a conflicted man to a dumb monkey. Megatron gave his life to save Cybertron to wanting to destroying it. Wing Saber just randomly gave up his revenge quest. Dreadwing's story is exactly the same as Sixshot. While Dreadwing learn that his brother bacame a zombie ghost before he died, Sixshot died believing Optimus killed his bro, not knowing Megatron killed him. Yeah they have an Airachnid clone but no Airachnid. It's sad they left her on the moon and left that unresolved. I doubt that Rescue Bots, a show aimed towards preschoolers will wrapped up any storylines. You mentioned Knock Out going back to being bad. Well the Japanese toyline of of RID15 had Knock Out as a Decepticon. However Japan never aired the 3rd season. Instead we had this werid OVAs of Optimus as a Train and then somehow RID15. We don't know how Optimus survived the destruction of the Autobot base

Sideswipe in Transformers Movie 2 and 3 is still way better then RID Sideswipe atleast he is cool and not annoying
Any positives I can say about this show is either weighed down by all the negatives or gets ripped apart for the status quo.
And that's the biggest problem of show - the status quo and the need to stick to it. Where there should be character development they just revert to their former selves the next ep.
