- Full 4K review of the all new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS. Thank you to Chevrolet for this incredible opportunity to check out this all-electric mid-size performance EV crossover.
Paraphrased per the Chevrolet Press Release:
Four distinct trims, multiple range options - including an available GM-estimated range of up to 320 miles on a full charge - and available front-, rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations offer customers more choices, and a seamless EV experience designed to complement virtually every lifestyle.
Those choices include available 1LT, 2LT, RS and Chevy’s first-ever electric SS performance model.
“Along with the all-new Silverado EV and Equinox EV coming next year, we are making great strides in offering more choices for zero tailpipe-emissions vehicles - choices that make switching to an EV easier than ever.”
The Blazer EV is based on GM’s innovative Ultium Platform with athletic styling that elevates the heralded design established in 2018 by the gas-powered Chevrolet Blazer, and performance cues inspired by the Camaro and Corvette.
With design and engineering developed to live up to the legacy of the iconic performance designation, the Blazer EV SS offers customers the most powerful experience in the lineup. It features an exclusive AWD propulsion configuration and unique WOW (Wide Open Watts) mode enabling 0-60 sprints of approximately less than 4 seconds.
Additional Blazer EV highlights include:
Driving range options up to an available GM-estimated 320 miles on a full charge (depending on the trim)
11.5 kW level 2 (AC) charging, which can add up to 36 miles of range per hour of charging and standard DC fast-charging capability of up to 190kW, depending on the model, which enables approximately 78 miles of range to be added in 10 minutes, per GM estimates
The distinctive trims take on their own characters. The LT features a monochromatic appearance and standard 19-inch wheels, while the RS strikes a sportier presence with a black grille and other black accents, along with standard 21-inch wheels. The SS serves up the most aggressive aesthetic, with a unique front grille, two-tone color scheme - featuring a black roof and A-pillars that complement the Blazer EV’s body color pallet, standard 22-inch wheels and more.
There’s no button to push to start the vehicle. With Hands-Free Start, the driver simply pushes the brake pedal after closing the door and the Blazer EV is ready to go. The key fob or enabled device in proximity authorizes the Hands-Free Start system.
Powered-opening charge port door: It features a powered opening when the door is pushed and can open automatically when the vehicle recognizes it is approaching a charger
Navigation to charging stations and route planning: Through the MyChevy app, this feature helps locate and plot routes to charging stations
Regen on Demand Braking: This feature can convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle’s forward momentum into electricity that’s stored in the battery pack to maximize the driving range. It also includes One-Pedal Driving, which can slow the vehicle to a full stop, using only the accelerator.
A major enabler of the Blazer EV’s technologies is Ultifi, GM’s new end-to-end vehicle software platform.

They nailed it with the styling, so much better than a Mach E, Model Y, ID4, etc.
I think it looks great. But I also like the exterior design of Model Y. I'm just not a fan of Tesla's quality.
@@TheTmat007 I would buy 2 Tesla if they get the quality like a Lexus. Model S for me and Model Y for wife. My soon to get his DL son can take my 2017 Lexus ES when Tesla gets it right. That’s why I place a reservation on a Lucid Air Pure, which they cannot deliver until mid 2023.
@@TheTmat007 tesla model Y body is nice but front is just ugly
@@ji3200
Personally, I don't think the front end of the Model Y is ugly. But I'd agree it is not the best part of the car's design. Still, overall, I think the design is quite nice. I'd give it a 7.5/10. The Model S, I'd give 8/10. But the Porsche Taycan I'd give a 9/10. And speaking of Porsche. It is the front end of 911 cars that I find ugly looking.
@@TheTmat007 i think slight front grill on model X is really nice but model Y without grill looks unfinish design in the front
These EVs are starting to grow on me
same!!
Yeah everyone’s getting the good vibes on these glorified golf carts. I mean that is where they came from. Only now the pushing the envelope to the extreme in power, range, and artistic design incorporating the characteristics of ice cars.
It's really beautiful... I love the design language... Well done Chevrolet
100% nailed it. Was considering a Model Y next year but this thing looks way better. Plus the interior is really stout.
Model Y (why?) it’s a raised model 3…and a piece of unrefined junk!
@@johnclaeys376 Does it matter? FOH
Beautiful. It was time chevy delivered a stylish vehicle in/out!
Can’t spell Chevrolet without “ev”. I love how they took advantage of that in the welcome animation.
Loved the flashback to 2019 video in the beginning! Great video man!
Thanks for showing us the end!!! Great review
Great looking suv . Great job showing it.👍👍
Thank you!!! Much appreciated
Don’t know how you always get to these prototypes/new vehicles first. But, I’m glad you do, good job. This is a beautiful vehicle but I will say for that amount of money, when you open the door, my eye goes directly to the lack of dressed up aluminum brake/ accelerator pedal to finish off the beautiful interior.
Wow thanks for the in person review, it looks awesome
beautiful suv..looks perfect
YESSSS!!!!! IT'S HAPPENING WE'RE FINALLY HERE!!!! Been anticipating for all of GM to go EV ever since the Hummer introduction! This time next year we'll get the full size SUV releases 🤞🏾🤞🏾🔥🔥🔥
That is a nice looking vehicle. Thanks for the video. I have been looking forward to watch a review about the Blazer EV
thank you for watching!!
It's like the big car manufacturers finally gave designers free reign and decided not allow their management(Who have no talent in the area) to hold back designers. It's also strange how this is only something they've allowed for EVs, like good design is only a EV thing 😅. But still, this is beautiful design and we should all be happy that EVs have not only pushed cars 20 years into the future but the design is also 20 years ahead of what we would have seen on traditional boring cars.
Building a bespoke EV platform from the ground up allows designers more freedom and a budget to do more of what they want and have it actually make it to production. GM has _always_ had beautiful concept vehicles from the beginning and their quality has greatly improved over the last few years. Their new EVs are taking this to the next level.
Can't wait to get one.I'm anticipating when my dealership will get them..
Classic design in and out better from all competitors
Thanks Drive 615 for another excellent video - teaching us lots. Going to be an SS version in our driveway about a year away. TU!
How is headroom in the front? How tall are you?
dude can't get sound right to save his life. Great job Chevy, it is beautiful.
Nice vid bro! Might have to upgrade in a couple years 👀
Thanks brother
564 hrsprs Chevy might be my first EV
Heck yeah!!!!
👋🌝😍
Does it have an outlet plug to charge you home for a few days like the Silverado EV. That would be sooooooo welcome
Dang I keep hoping one of these videos will be a driving review. Also any suggestions on finding legitimate pictures of each color, or even better in person opportunities to see each color so I can decide which color to get? Reservation in on the RS.
I sure hope they do better with the Ultium cars than they've done with the Bolt. I've had my EUV less than a month and has two major fails already, the ECU AMD Super Cruise ...
Looking Good Chevy...COngratulations!!! 👏👏👏
Esto es lo más bello que he visto de la marca Chevrolet 😍❤️😋🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
I always say lately the American auto industry taking it to the German and European auto companies but Tulsa better be cure too after see the blazer ss ev !!!!
i'd be impressed if they built the car with those types of materials. This car is a pre production prototype. It will definitely get alot of preorder with that prototype.
The Chevy Blazer EV looks very nice. I'm a fan of futuristic technology things including EV stuff. They'll be alot of fun. They'll be like in the sci fi movies like Total Recall, Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, Demolition Man, Robocop, and Terminator. What if their will be Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV as Chevy EV police vehicles? Robocop will like to drive them.
Have you had a chance to review the 2022 Tesla MX? I recently took delivery of mine. After waiting almost a year and half for it to be delivered. But if you want to do a review on one? I live in Murfreesboro. And it would be cool to have you use my MX.
Hey that could be cool for sure!!! Shoot me a DM on IG. Thank you. Drive615
I definitely want it! Can you add a third row like in the Tesla?
I’m an audiophile so am curious what Chevy has put into the new Blazer EV-Sound System?
What a beauty she is!
Does it has a fronk?
You make great video
thank you so much!
Nice video
thanks!
I liked your watch's brand more than the car's one 😃
They say you can order the SS model in Fall of 2023, but any guesses on how soon one would actually receive their vehicle. I did the same thing with the Bronco but had to wait more than a year to actually get it in my driveway. It seems all new models are taking that long. Any guesses on the Blazer SS?
Good job dude!
Thank you sir! Hope all is well
Well, a RWD Blazer model (I assumed GM would save this for Cadillac and the pickups EV models), offering the Blazer EV as a FWD, RWD, and AWD models and 3-different battery pack sizes, clearly, Chevy / GM are betting big on EVs, so, GM has 3-different EV motors (a powerful 255 kW EV motor for FWD, RWD or AWD positions, a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position, and a 62-kW EV motor for FWD/RWD/AWD assist motor, knowing the available EV motors, note, the GMC HUMMER EV pickup launch edition uses three 255 kW EV motors, 1-front and 2-at the rear, anyway), the Blazer SS EV is offered as an AWD model only guessing it offers a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position and a powerful 255 kW EV motor for a rear position, thus giving you that AWD capacity or basically the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD model setup, now the base FWD only 1LT (guessing that’s a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor), the LT2 (guessing the same as the 1LT FWD, but the AWD version will most likely get a 180-kW EV motor for FWD position motor and a 62-kW EV motor for RWD assist motor for AWD), next the RS trim FWD (guessing that’s a powerful 255 kW EV FWD position motor), RS trim RWD (same as RWD Cadillac Lyriq a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor), the RS AWD trim is the interesting one (Chevy has several options, but I’m guessing a 62-kW EV motor for FWD assist motor and a powerful 255 kW EV RWD position motor for AWD or maybe some other combination, it feels like the the RS AWD will be the model to get if you don’t need or want the SS) and of course, the SS, which I already talked about, side note, did anyone notice Chevy / GM showed all available trims of the Blazer EV outside of maybe a ZL1 version, but to date the Cadillac Lyriq has only shown the Luxury trim RWD and AWD versions, could this be because Cadillac / GM want the halo/flagship upcoming Cadillac Celestiq to be shown first with these features and tech, I’m starting to think the Celestiq could be the first four-motor EV from GM, I was assuming it would be the Corvette EV, clearly they want Celestiq features/tech to trickle down to other Cadillac EV models, but the price you are hearing means it will have to come with the goods
Um show a parte chovrolt de parabéns
I know a lot of people may love those red seats, but I am not crazy over them. I would much rather have the two-tone black and peanut butter color.
RED looks like something for a 2 Year old...............Paul
@@paulholterhaus7084 😂I think for me, it's the tone of red as well. If it was a deeper red, such as a blood red tone, I probably could get with it, but that orangey red; not so much...
Amor a primera vista 🥰🥰🥰
Perfeita menos na altura ela deveria ser mais alta
🌞👍🏿✔️👏🏾🔥…very nice informative video!
Very,very nice car ❗😲👍 .
와 진짜 멋지네요.
Bekirkaya..güzel
Usually How many months before a release date do car journalists get to test drive a car?
Are you 8 feet tall or does it sit low?
I’m a Chevy guy, own a 2015 Silverado HD, love this Blazer SS, but the price tag is just prohibitive for most people, that’s a damn shame, it really is, how many people can ( these days especially), can shell out $70K ?
Bekirkaya.çok.güzel
WOW 🤩
at your height how comfortable where you sitting
This car is perfection, I personally hate the shape of Teslas, seeing this, and the Lyriq 🔥🔥🔥 Finally real competitors are on board
Agreed, Teslas are judge weird…and oh…crap!
Bekirkaya.merhabalar.çok.güzel
Almost vapor ware, bring all models out from 1lt to ss asap
Top..top...top
i would buy it if it was a 7 seater
멋지네요
SS version made in USA or Mexico?
👌🏿☝🏼👌🏿
Interesting car (that should have been into production in 2021)…
Interior is not far from the Bolt EV
The big central arm rest is strange and it could have been an additional space to put stuff
Air vent are like Mercedes
AC/Heat button combined (are they doing the same error than in the Bolt EV 2017-2018??)
The trunk seems a little bit small for a family purpose car…
The charging port will SOOOO dislike winter weather (why making it so flashy when simple = efficient)
The physical/digital button in the screen is like the Ford Mach E/Lightning.
Overall, this is okay but who needs a sport version of a car already powerful by default? Should be also cheaper…
are you kiddng me? who allows you to run ads on a video like that?
acabou o encanto ............... luiz costa jr
Those black lines and silhouette are deceiving. They make the suv look sporty and sleek but in reality it's a regular suv shape lol
How tall is this dude? He's dwarfing this car. Or am I just short at 5'10??? 0_o
The style is nice but the price of $44k is not good. They were suppose to bring a EV in theb$30k range that average Americans can afford?
Is that real red leather interior or fake leather inserts?
His knee cracked at 1:53/1:54....should have used the sprinkler in the background.
Either that is a very short SUV or you are all really tall guy.
I’m 6’5
Needed a different wheels
How tall is he, or I’d the car short?!?
6 foot 5
Glad they didn't call it the Corvette SUV lol
It’s really refreshing to see a nicely dressed mature man review a soon to be hot car!!!
Grrrh...for starters, the cabin air vents look like 1950s tail lights. Over done on many styling points, so I'm sure Americans will like it.
65K, way too much for GM quality, all there Blazers are over priced, is this one made in Mexico as well? Styling is nice! Actually all EV's are over priced, I would wait.
Dude is like 2 meters tall.
Export it to Việt Nam
Why in god's name would they give it Cadillacs charge port door and gear shifter. It will just become something reviewers attack Cadillac about. Sure Audi VW etc do it but they will get a pass. Anyway it looks amazing.
It's pre-production. They might change it later on.
What was wrong with Caddys charge port..??????.............Paul
All these new EVs from the "dinosaurs" are making Tesla's lineup look really dated. Especially the Model S and X
agree. the big dogs are on top of their game.
The EV game is getting crazy. And giving Tesla a run for their money. But the refreshed S and X interior are way nicer then the previous ones.
I still love the design of Model S. I think it still looks fresh... although not much has changed from since 2012.
Tall station wagon.
I cant afford it, so bringthen 30k equinox
12 or 13 year old kids should be allowed to start driving EVs. They'll like to drive the Chevy Blazer EVs. Today's children and teens want new and futuristic technology things for both fun and school.
AWD is important.........540 HP is NOT...............Paul
It's a Dacia
GM has no chips!!Chios!!! The only that will work is probably the windshield wipers.
TKe away the bow tie and you got a Toyota. 10,000 over price. Do like the interior

o carro e top mais essa cor vermelha por dentro detonou o carro ... coisa de ze ruela kkkkkkkkk pra nao falar bai....
Toys car 🤣🤣🤣🤣
A brand new vehicle, yet it looks old/outdated. I'm not sure that's a good thing GM has missed the chance to lead their customers into the new era of EVs with truly ground-breaking designs & technology instead opting for a throwback to the 70s?
Nothing looks like a 70’s, did ever lived in 70ks?
Copie conforme de la Renault Mégane E-Tech, un peu facile de copier le design d'autres véhicules ! 👎😡 🇫🇷
I hope to not have the same crappy 💩 reliability like check volt …..
