Love your work. Watching your videos is like meditation. I have a question which is more art theory ; why do you use the color progressions you do? All your pictures, to me ,start with earthy colors and progress to blues. Being color blind makes the whole color wheel thing seem like another language but I am able to create nice pictures by following along with your videos and reading labels on tubes. I was hoping an explanation of why the color progression you use may help in my understanding.
Hi Keith, Glad you like! I think a lot of it has to do with how i create and mix colors. I work in layering washes so earth tones in general have yellow in them which makes a great starting point as they are also very transparent. Simply adding a Cerulean blue wash on top of these earth tones will give me a large variety of different colors. I never used a color wheel, makes it sound like science instead of art. I go by what I see and learn by painting. I paint what I like and hope you do to.I hope this helps, Enjoy...MIX
Michael Lang Thank you for the reply. My wife told me not to worry about what people think about my colors. She I should paint for myself and if the colors are pleasing to me then that’s all that matters. I love the wash technique you use and have enjoyed trying it.

Anuradha Bhalla he uses acrylic with medium. Usually matte medium but not always.
