Because it's weird to even mention double doubles as if they're really impressive or something... especially setting a record of 15, and half of them are achieved in trash time while you're getting blown out, losing 9/15 games. I know they get a little more time, but the men's record is crazy... even excluding Wilt, 15 is not impressive. Imagine if she could manage better than 40% from the field as a post player. No one cares about double doubles with 10 pts unless you defend like Rodman or something.

I'm a huge Caitlin Clark fan. She is the only reason that I started watching the Fever games. The only other teams that I've watched are the opposing teams that the Fever have played against. Obviously, my assessment of the other players are a little limited. From what I have seen so far, she is without question, the ROTY. As far as MVP's go, I'm not sure. I haven't seen enough of the other players to fairly evaluate them. She is definitely the most impactful player in the history of the WNBA. Not even Bird, Magic, or Jordan did this in their rookie years. Attendance, viewership, ticket prices, merchandise sales, and overall noteriety are proof of that. From what I've seen, I do think that she is second or third in the MVP race. Hypothetically speaking, if she was on a better team with three Olympians, and a better coach, she would probably have better statistics and more wins. On the flip side, if Wilson was playing for Indiana, she might not be enjoying the same amount of success. Despite all the hate, the double, and triple teams, the cheap shots, hard fouls, uncooperative teammates, and antagonistic coaching, she has steadily improved, and continues to break rookie, and league records. Her defense needs to improve. She does have high turnovers, but realistically, many of them were a direct result of her teammates mishandling her passes. They have even admitted to that. Also, her assists would be greater if her teammates could finish easy layups. Regardless, she will probably continue to have more turnovers than most players. Afterall, she plays the most minutes, and is the designated distributor. If not for her unselfish style, she wouldn't have as many tournovers, and would take more shots and have a higher scoring average. My guess is that her teammates don't mind her unselfish style. A style that makes her teammates look better. Also they get wide open looks more often now. Who knows, maybe MVP next year. It's all good. She is bringing light and shine to the whole league. Other players are now getting unprecedented exposure and noteriety, and all the added bonuses that come with it. She is growing the league exponentially. Instead of hating, and begrudging her, they could grow and flourish even quicker if they embraced and accepted her. Maybe that's too much to expect, but it would be in their best financial interest.
I'd say CC is 3rd for MVP behind Aja Wilson and Breana Stewart I think. She is absolutely the most valuable person in the WNBA already and still over half the league seems to hate her 😧.
