From 2005 to about 2010 the WSOP at the Rio was an unbelievable event. ESPN had great coverage. Poker just doesn't seem the same now.

because we had people talking, having fun, enjoying the game, but playing serious, they were friends off the felt, but no love lost on the felt, and it was fun to watch, because you were rooting for almost everyone, it was the entertaining table talk/banter between the players.

it was around the time Blom (isildur1) came out, around that time all the online players started rocking up to major events, and thus the ''music/headphones in/on, hood over baseball cap, sunglasses on, zero table talk'' started

ESPN and the wsop was completely magical during this time….now companies like pokergo have turned it into a profit only business and you can’t even watch it for free on espn anymore 😡

@@gg-oo4tg nah he was very serious idk why this tournament in particular cause he's known for getting drunk while playing but he was uncharacteristically antagonistic as opposed to his playful cocky self. He later apologized for his actions and he's stopped drinking during televised games
Honestly i didnt know there was an "ambassador" of poker type stuff ...like a high etiquette ...like its chess or something...most countries outside of US a gambler is a gambler...not someone to look up to imo...
