Yeah devil fruit for a ship is not an upgrade but downgrade. Ship needs to float not drown.

Especially since this is a siege barricade so theoretically both sides are trying to wait it out and starve eachother of resources there might be lots of down time to make upgrades
Honestly, I dont see strawhats will going to escape. in my head cannon after the egghead incident the news will spread all over the world will be "a hundreds of marine warships with 9 VA lead by fleat vice admiral kizaru are defeated by yonko strawhat". That news is surely will shake the world and strawhats bounty after that will be their final bounty, I think.

I think it’s more likely for Vivi to obtain the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and join the Straw Hats for good. My guess is that Nefertari D. Lili used it during the Void Century to disperse the poneglyphs all over the world and Vivi is going to inherit both her will and her fruit.
This or Vivi is gonna control S-Bear as a Devil Fruit Weapon. Since the Nefertari Family was part of the 20 founders I say she is in the heiracy list of controlling the Seraphims.
It will be Bonney who joins the straw hats. Vivi has too much responsibility, and her backstory isn't tragic enough.
Bonney on the other hand, she checks all the boxes. She will be the last straw hat. After Caribou, who joined in wano and nobody noticed.

I love this. I definitely think we're going to get surprised by this battle. I don't think the Straw hats are running anymore. They'll make a stand and take the Marines head-on. Also because of the timeskip and the report in the paper, that's plenty of time for the Grand Fleet to make their debut. Is this the event Oda was talking about way back then??

I think its more likely the ship gets the Mother flame prototype… and even if Vega does not update it a new fuel source allows Frankie to make far more superior enhancement, even a version of pluton since he has the blue prints remembered.

One of my crazy theories is the Sunny gets a mythical chimera zoan fruit, Lion, goat (merry) snake/dragon.
Should be fine as the Sunny is never fully submerged, essentially only knee deep in water.
1. Tech- make the sunny an a.i. intelligence like the automata/pacifistas, maybe vega punks mind.
2. Devil fruit- has to be zoan an the best are mythical, also df users can move while touching sea stone an water. Brook ran on water np, so smiley, a smile df, kaidos dragon fly an fight, marcos Phoenix heal/fly, a hito like the fox in wano, so the ship can become human an go with them never getting captured at the dock.
3. Klauberman merges or appears like merry's, will like a sword.
4. Big mom or a soul df user puts a soul in sunny.
Great video Syv.. although I wonder how sunny would utilise niku niku no mi, a paramecia, being an inanimate object. I guess we don't know yet if zoan types are the only ones that can be used with objects..
I personally like mother flame idea the most, as it upgrades an existing ability to the utmost, imagine gaon cannon and coup de burst being able to fire multiple times without refueling and the additional power, dayyuumm
Vegapunk developed green blood. The sunny runs on cola. Vegapunk will be traveling with chopper, the user of the human human fruit.
Vegapunk and frank will work together to create green blood from chopper's blood, and the sunny will fight San Juan wolf in the final battle in it's human human form.
Seeing that cover page with the Cow waiter reminds me of the nursery rhyme "Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon"..
Luffy will die to Doberman and give his Nika fruit to the real incarnation of Joyboy, the Thousand Sunny. The Thousand Sunny will then use advanced forms of all three hakis along with his new awakened fruit to kill all of the marines except for Doberman who will be the final boss of One Piece.
So far we've only seen Zoan fruits being "eaten" by inanimate objects. Not sure if inanimate objects can eat a Paramecian Devil Fruit if so how would that work.

Franky having temporary use of Devil fruit abilities could be a thing i've thought about for ages cause all he has to do is replace it to be able to swim again which would be suitable for him only.
Also the ship wouldnt lose its buoyancy it would always be able to float as it doesnt have knees for there to be a depth issue. but it could only turn into a Zoan type thing for an inanimate object that we know of but its ability to walk on land would be helpful.
This reminds me of how I called big mom dumb at the end of wci for landing on the sunny and not turning the sunny go into one of her homies

Here's the thing; Eggland Island very much comes off as a fusion of Punk Hazard(setting, Vegapunk, key location for WG/ Marines) and Sabondy Arcipeligo. What would be the thing that Oda could call back to Punk Hazard that hasn't been called back to? Franky doing upgrades to the ship. Remember, he was repairing/ fixing the Sunny during PH? Imagine we get a situation where Vegapunk and he are making upgrades and thus it is up to the Straw Hats and everyone to stall for time so the upgrades would be finished. It could be especially impactful if the Grand fleet show up at the all is lost moment and in turn with the new Sunny, the Straw Hats escape with Vegapunk, alongside the fleet.
An idea I had is Vegapunk infusing Sunny's Klaubautermann into Franky, similar to how he managed to infuse Devil Fruits into inanimate objects. This way, Franky could repair the ship telekenetically and possibly even communicate with the crew telepathically. This could be what Oda was trying to hint at by having Sunny on Franky's wanted poster; that they'll become one.
Is it possible for franky to get injured and merged with the sunny to save him. Then he can literally see/be the sunny sailing the world. Then if you put green blood instead of cola, franky/sunny can use devil fruit abilities.
The Gaon Cannon isn't technically a beam, it's a shockwave
If the Sunny gets the mother flame that means Franky will also get another upgrade in power. Imagine Franky with his own Ark reactor like tony stark. Limitless power means stronger cyborg.

I am just now imagining...the straw hats charge towards an island, its filled with marines...they expect the ship to stop, and the pirates to get off...NOPE, the ship just immediately starts going straight through the island itself
Kuma is going to die, his fruit is going to Vivi I think, and yeah I like the sunny getting the green blood or mother flame energy more than likely to replace cola. I also see the mother flame being the powerup for franky himself as well.

Franky knows the blueprint of ancient weapon/ship. So I think sunny already have a touch of ancient weapon made by franky's knowledge about blueprint of ancient weapon and the only missing is the mystery power and features like mother flaim, vegapunk bubble, hologram, egghead security device etc.... I guess vegapunk is the key to complete sunny's full potential. Not exactly same as ancient weapon but it will be the strongest ship in history.

I think Vegapunk might know where the last Road Poneglyph is, and after the straw hats drive Kizaru and the others away from egghead island, he'll tell Luffy about its location and then Lucci, Kaku, Stussy, Sentomaru, and Bonney will escort the doctor to where he wants to go instead of the straw hats. Of course, it's just a theory.

i wouldn't mind it but i feel like the sunny narratively is supposed to make to the end the way it was constructed, besides repairs. i think vegapunk working on it would kinda undermine the idea that it could have made it to the end like the oro jackson

I can see the Sunny getting an upgrade after the straw hats drive Kizaru off Egghead island, especially if the straw hats go up against the blackbeard pirates later and Franky has to deal Pizarro (ship vs island). The sunny eating a devil fruit however is hard to picture in my mind.
The kind of upgrades I can see the sunny adding laser beam canons, making it a able to become a a submarine, or even being able to fly or glide like in stampede.
I think Franky built Sunny to be retro fitted for Pluton or to fight Pluton. Im not saying Franky did it with that intention or that Luffy would ever ask him to. But Franky had those blueprints for long enough and Franky is smart enough to have memorized them. He likely built Sunny in such a way that he subconsciously made her SUPAH easy to turn into Pluton or to fight Pluton if it was absolutely necessary.
Not sure how plausible it is but I would love to see a beam clash between Kizaru and Franky! Classic DBZ style beam battle lol
regardless of how they go about it, there's no way Franky and his beloved are coming out of this without upgrades. Also it would be funny as hell if Vegapunk just nonchalantly mentions he has moon robots

I think it'd be SUPER if the sunny gets their own mechanical beasts. Imagine how helpful those beasts could be in a fight and they could have their unique designs and abilities.
Also another idea would be to incorporate Island cloud technology into the Sunny.
A ship can't seil in the ocean if it has a devil fruit. If anything gets a fruit it will be the climatact or ussops slingshot.

Yo, I never considered Sunny getting a fruit. Now I'm wondering if you "feed" different parts of the ship DFs, can it have multiple fruits without blowing up? I definitely think the way to get DFs in inanimate objects is through Kumas DF. We know he can "push" out concepts like pain and memory. So if he pushes out the will/soul of an elephant DF lets say, now the DF soul is in the floating paw bubble. Next, insert any object like a sword into the bubble paw. Now we have a Funkfreed. What if Pluton is a battleship with like 100 DFs or something lol. My hope is Nami goes to tend to her tangerines and finds Kaidos Fish Fish fruit and feeds that to the Sunny. I think Kaidos still alive. I feel like a flying Fish Fish fruit would be appropriate. How are they gonna get to Mary Geoise?

I just thought about this right now ... what if this trend of Worst Gen ships being obliterated continues and it so happens that the Sunny gets heavily damaged during their escape ? Luffy and the crew would certainly try to retaliate somehow and that's how the "Egghead incident" happens.
I would love that, I mean Luffy is well above Law and Kid but it is unnerving that the 3 bil boys are getting slapped left and right with Luffy seemingly being the only one without anything bad happening yet.
