Great video Andy well done. Couldn't help noticing your green cockbird in cage number 9 is coughing/wheezing a bit, which can indicate airsac mite. Would suggest treating your birds with some S76 for airsac.

Thanks Victor. I've noticed him doing that today too. I give all the birds S76 so was surprised to see him like that.

The five eggs that the green hen is sitting if you never used dummy eggs you’ll find out the last chick will die it will be stampled to death ,
    You run a fantastic Chanel
    Congratulations

Thanks Gary - really appreciate your feedback mate 👍👍 I did use dummy eggs so hopefully they should be ok but to be honest, I’m not expecting all 5 to be full so I’ll pull out the clear eggs and she might end up just sitting on 2 or 3

    Well done, mate! Great video!
It seems that some of your birds are showing signs of air sac mites. They show tail bobbing and rapid breathing. These mites are easily treatable with ivomec/ivermectin spot on.
If you want to mate a cock with two or more hens, you should wait until the hens have finished building their nests. When the hens are turning or moving in the nest is the best time to use the cock for a short time. But only for about five minutes. Otherwise the cock will become attached to one hen and the other hens will no longer be accepted.
If you want to determine the sexes, you can usually see them in the nest. Cocks generally have more intense feathering under the beak, hens are generally paler. In adult birds, the hens, even intense hens, mostly have light frosted feathers in the neck region. Hens are rounder in body shape, roosters are more elongated. Another trick is to pick up the bird and lightly stroke the cloaca towards the tail. If the tail stays straight it is a hen, if the tail is tucked up, as in mating, it is a cock.
    Greetings from Germany

Hi Oma! Thank you for the detailed reply - really appreciate you taking the time. I’ll try some of those tips you have suggested for sexing to see how I get on - I think I did quite well with most of them but there’s definitely a couple that caught me out!! 🤣😂
I’m puzzled about the wheezing cock bird - not sure why he’s behaving as if he’s got air sac mites as I treat regularly with S76 but there does seem to be something amiss. He started like this just the last week so I’ll have to keep a close eye on him and do something.
      Thanks again 👍👍
