That sharpener is my go to for colored pencils…never a broken lead and I’ve found that if you have it on #3 it seems to extend the life of the pencil. You definitely got the good stuff 💚🇯🇵

I agree! I particularly love that she doesn't spend a huge amount of time trying to please the algorithm by trying a bunch of crazy gimmicks. She starts filming and even if mid-way through the video she's just like "yup, I don't feel like drawing that thing I started drawing, so now I'm going to draw this instead!" It's always a fun ride and you can tell when she's drawing what she's wanting to draw. Makes it feel authentic :)

When you are scared of 'ruining' a piece I would suggest scanning it into your digital art program, doing line-art and colouring it there. Then you can make as many versions as you want. Could even print off the line art and colour it traditionally after that, without ever messing with the original work

rin, i would suggest coloring it digitally perhaps? it would open up a lot of coloring abilities, while still keeping your beautiful pencil sketch! great video as always.

UGHH IT'S ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT-
If I had drawn it, I probably would have taken a picture and turned it into digital art to color it, with an aesthetic warm sunset color scheme to go with the theme of the Sunset Bookstore, and reading late into the afternoon after school.

This is such a big jump for waffles and I'm happy for her! She didn't have to push herself to colour. The pencil drawing itself was cool and the piece turned out sooooo good!!! I'm waiting for when she starts colouring her backgrounds in the future!!

You have really inspired me! And thank you for letting us starting artists know that it is okay to walk away from a drawing if you are happy with its pencil form. So often I hear that you could do better by adding color, but many times I find myself not happy with a drawing after I added color, when I had loved it beforehand. Love you and your vids!

I love when you have problems and aren’t good at certain things in drawing, that you actually express that you aren’t good at drawing things, instead of not saying anything. Some people do that to make themselves seem that they are good at everything in art just because they are an artist. But you express that you have your flaws and I adore that :).

I recently started studying perspective and I'm blown away by your ability to just kinda wing it. I'm still at that level where if I don't physically draw the horizon line and the perspective lines, I'm immediately lost, haha! Hopefully I'll get to that level someday soon. Oh, and I LOVE the final sketch! We gotta love an illustration that includes characters AND a background, right?? I just felt sorry for the little duckie. I really wanted him to make it to the end. Honestly, I'm a beginner artist and I've always had a pretty bad mindset when I draw stuff that I don't like, but you said 'I don't want to think that I could have done better' and that's honestly one of the most helpful things I've heard!
