Having capes get caught in stuff is a really easy fix. Just have a clasp that releases really easy. You will still lose the cape, but you will be fine. If an enemy tries to grab your cape all they will do is pull it off and be put off balance.
or just have your cape be senitent and more or less invincible
in retrospect im sure she meant that in the aesthetic sense; capes like Batman and Spawn are actually y'know, _functional._

What about Meta Knight's Cape? It allows him to fly and teleport, it can expand infinitely, and even bind opponents in pure darkness

Actually the first thing I think of is not Spawn but Superman. Superman basically created the idea of wearing a cape.

Capes existed even before year 0, pretty sure Superman wasn't around at that time. His cape is iconic, but saying that he "created the idea of wearing a cape" is a huge stretch.

This is pretty much the only top 10 list by Screwattack where I was completely satisfied with the number 1 choice.

Except cooler, because instead of a fursuit, it is a cape. A CAPE!
Tanooki only had temporary flight, the cape feather was permanent at least until you hit a wall or something.

They say with great power comes great responsibility. And in the case of these capes, the responsibity of making good use of them. Edna Mode says no capes, but Spawn's cape is the ultimate antithesis.

Meta knight's cape. It can turn into wings, allow him to teleport, and as demonstrated in smash bros and kirby planet robobot, cover the area in darkness.

I don't know if it's canon but I always felt Storm wore her cape like she did because she flies by using the wind so it's design probably helps keep her afloat.

They may look nice but you're more likely to be hanged by them. Most superhero capes attach at the shoulders of their costumes for that reason. I wouldn't go with either just based on practicality.

For our Secret Number 11, we went with Yugi Moto's jacket from Yu-Gi-Oh! Because when the Pharaoh takes over, _it transforms itself into a cape._ No prompting, no extraneous effort on his part, _no explanation for how it works,_ just *BAM,* cape.

I appreciate the lesser known shoulder cape of Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2. You actually got interchangeable capes that gave you diplomatic immunity in the certain cities they applied to.

I must say I was almost dissapointed you guys didn't get Spawn (the shrowd) in there but when I saw that figure on the church tower I was like "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss" and litterally put my fist in the air like Bender from the breakfast club. I was very enthusiastic about it
Honourable mention: Count Bleck's cape from Super Paper Mario, you can fly with it and suck people you don't like into another dimension or just create a black hole to destroy them entirely (and it might give you the ability to teleport or maybe that's just C. Bleck's own magic)
