Radical face is REAL music. Ben Cooper's songs are poetic and tearful.
The Best.
I emailed Ben once because I wanted him to come play in my state. He hasn't come yet but he sent me a really nice reply email. He is such a cool guy. I love that he does his own tutorial videos for his songs on youtube.
He's on tour now! it's amazing!
Whats his email ?
It's a huge honor when an artist records an original version of a song at your studio. I love that she thanks Ben for the slight alteration in the first song, then he follows it up with the greatest, mind-blowing version of Along the Road on record.
Such an underrated artist.
I am so glad that I've had the opportunity to experience Radical Face live.
It was better than you could ever imagine.
Lucky fella
AWWW YEAAAH ! Nothing's better than a Ben Cooper live video !
I never heard of Radical Face until Ben's interview on NPR today. The first song captured my imagination. Now I can't stop listening. I might have to buy the entire trilogy.
Do it! You won't regret it! (Assuming that you like the non-live versions of the songs too)
+Minh Han Check out Electric President, his other project. The sounds a bit different but if you like Radical Face, you'll probably like his other band.
I found old genmi at a cafe
I'm so glad that they played that song
Now I have his whole album
Thank god for Pandora. If it didn't exist, I may never have discovered this amazing band.
OH MY GOD. I love Ben Cooper!!!!! :D
I've always loved Ben's songs since his Electric President days. Beautiful music. Beautiful songs that always transcends through my heart and soul.
This is just pure awesome! I found these guys through a camera advert but instead of sticking to one song I went old and listen to he produced. Through this very video I have found some more awesome bands.
I am fan from Chile. Amazing music and lyrics.
Yes! Radical Face ! THANKS.
Oh man, The Gilded Hand is such a banger live! Radical Face is one of my all time favorites!
Wow! I love watching great musicians live. Thanks!
Great Performance
Radical Face - Always Gold
We were tight knit boys
Brothers in more then name
You would kill for me
And knew that I'd do the same
And it cut me sharp
Hearing you'd gone away
But everything goes away
Yeah everything goes away
But I'm going to be here until I'm nothing
But bones in the ground
And I was there, when you grew restless
Left in the dead of night
And I was there, when three months later
You were standing in the door all beat and tired
And I stepped aside
Everything goes away
Yeah everything goes away
But I'm gonna be here until I'm nothing
But bones in the ground
So quiet down
We were opposites at birth
I was steady as a hammer
No one worried 'cause they knew just where I'd be
And they said you were the crooked kind
And that you'd never have no worth
But you were always gold to me
And back when we were kids
We swore we knew the future
And our words would take us half way 'round the world
But I never left this town
And you never saw New York
And we ain't ever cross the sea
But I am fine with where I am now
This home is home, and all that I need
But for you, this place is shame
But you can blame me when there's no one left to blame
Oh I don't mind
All my life
I've never known where you've been
There were holes in you
The kind that I could not mend
And I heard you say
Right when you left that day
Does everything go away?
Yeah, everything goes away.
But I'm going to be here 'til forever
So just call when you're around.
I'm from Brazil, and since I found Radical Face on Spotify, I could not stop listening your songs.
A very close friend I hadn't spoke to in a decade just today recommended this band. What an amazing sound. Truly music has not died. But we as a whole have stopped listening to sound and feeling. Bands need to rise again and prove that we can conquer with taste and dignity.
Until now I saw this Radical Face performance in KEXP. Loved the performance and the interview. Nice person/artist and band. And of course with Cheryl Waters who is also awesome.
i am waiting their new album now!! Hurry Ben!!!
+Ady Adnan Me too! He said on facebook that he hoped for a fall release of the last family tree album. I'm hoping that happens! Music is one of the things that keeps me going and more Ben Cooper is always a good thing.
+Ady Adnan there it is)
I was so worried, watching the individual videos that Cheryl wasn't going to interview them. I'm sooooooo happy! Thanks KEXP!
Awesome music! Awesome musicians! Bless up Radical Face - Keep em coming!!
Along the road
There, along the road, was a tiny home
The yard held dead machines behind its fences
Like they were it's kids
Broken down, but still worth a lot to someone
It made me stop and grin
Light from a dying moon
It blurs our eyes
And we wear a cape of fireflies
And after the world's in bed
All the ghosts come sing along
But we'll forget them
When the morning comes
And I slept on the ocean last night
I could see you all, and you all were dancing sideways
Your feet stuck to the skies
And I could see the airplanes dance behind your eyes
And I was glad I found the time
Beautiful soul!
Reminders:
I wish I had more nice things to say
But I was raised not to lie
I'm either honest, or I'm an optimist
But never both at the same time
And everyone knows the deal
Gotta take what you can
'cause anything I don't steal
Just winds up in someone else's hands
There's only so much good a man can take
When he ain't so good himself
You remind me of what I could've been
But that reminder ain't much help
So it's better if you were on your way
If you were somewhere far from me
So you could dream I turned out well
And I... I could just go to sleep
I wish I had more nice things to say
But I was raised not to lie
I'm either honest, or I'm an optimist
But never both at the same time
Very nice love it
amazing. I can't get enough.
I sooo love your music!!
Such great music.
radical face! What a great band, Roots is mu favorite. Wish they would come to milwaukee
Incredible music!
It's wonderful

FINALLY!! THANK YOU!
Introduced to this band on a pyranha kayaking video ,kayaks travelling down the grand canyon.the background song was Always Gold.Original great sound and lyrics. One of my favourite tunes.:)
i love this live
The way they did live sound effects is cool, especially with the drumstick dragging on the cymbals.
fantastic!!!!!!!!
Great performance!!!! Would love to see and feel Radical Face live. Hoping to get a show in Nor-Cal on next tour. Ben Cooper is this generations Dylan in my opinion. Just listening to the songs "Wrapped In Piano Strings", "The Gilded Hand", "Ghost Towns", or "Always Gold" sends chills up my back. Can't stop them from playing in my head.
I have the roots and branches on both cd and vinyl, i am glad he is as good live as he is recorded.
Brilliant recording, wish this was available on vinyl...
I thought this was a triple j post for a second
awesome , nicely very cooling and calm i love it
Thanks for feeding my soul.
I listen to Gungar on Pandora and these guys popped up....I just love them! Some of the most talented musicians I've heard in a while!
Hum. Amazing, luvit.
Absolute Genius
Amazing =)
everytime speechless after listening to his music! the last one and its louder interpretation was interesting. little bit different to his usual quite songs. like it!
Its such a shame Ben doesnt tour more often. I know so many people from all over Canada that would love to see him live and experience one of his shows.
People of Planet Earth: THIS IS MUSIC
Eau Rouge Your so correct. Not this electrical shit. Iam not even that old yet I was young enough to be exposed to REAL music. Today I can't find a station where I live that not is eather Rap or rich girls voices who go into recording studios & boom there's an album. Notice they all have such a pretty young face. Plus disgusted that they get younger & younger. Example we don't hear much a/b Kelly Clarkson since she put on weight. Iam not huge fan yet she has been through hell in industry due to her up &down weight. However if you like I did have ever had chance to here her voice with NO computers it actually sounds better then with.Thats my feminist prospective. Then we have bands like Radical Face, we'll never see at the Grammys. Imagine this shit going down when Queen,Claption, Zeppelin, The Band & The Dead ETC. were around at their height? They would of vomited. Wait they never had their fall from grace at least from this girls eyes.
SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT! (Rick and Morty reference).
Hooray! Ben Cooper is a friggin' genius. More, more, more!
Epic!
You guys have filled the REM / Grandaddy void nicely, thanks.
Love from India, Ben. ❤
hahahah I love all the awkward looks after each song.
That dude, that plays guitar and keyboard, he is secret weapon of this band)
Along The Road is much better live than the studio! Wow!
Radical face - Here am I as always
wow what jewel i just found.
Brilliant. That's all.
Everything goes away.
That drummer is so cute!
thanks.
jack ringca :O :D
BEN COOPER! Tour man... A LOT!
That's what's up ^ ! :)
Now these boys are good musicians! Forget "Head and the Heart" and all the rest of em.
thank you.
Open eyes adjusting to the dark
The growlin' of machinery
Can't say if it's night or day
And you know, somewhere in there you know
There will be a price to pay 'til all this goes away
So we walk the empty halls, the dirty walls
We smear our names in them
Dirt we find beneath our nails
Can't be scrubbed from our tired hands, never clean
We're never clean
We're never clean
Walk the halls, soot along the walls
Some will smear their names in it
While some just go away
And you know, somewhere in there you know
There's nothing here but surviving 'til something goes away
But through the cracks in this machine
We see the light, we see the sun dissolve
And we feel the pulse of life
A better life on the other side, and we wait
And so we wait
And so we wait
Time is lost, found cracks along my bones
This metal god is all I know
Now something's gone away
And you know, somewhere in there you know
Our blood's in the machinery
Our heart's in the machinery
And that's what went away
what's the name off the last song?
that was great
The gilded hand is what it is called. It's off his newest album, but according to a face book post of his (Ben Cooper) the last album (of the family tree albums) should hopefully come out this year around fall.
what's the name of the first song ?
what's the name off the first song he sings ??!
reminders.
Hey guys! Come in Russia, right in Far East, right in my village! Ah?
Lyrical alchemist
damn this isn't a genre i listen to and that second song is real as fuck
howd the guitar make that sound in the beginning?
the block and bar in that particular guitar is rusted in a particular way. we also used a strymon bluesky and mxr carbon copy very lightly. best of luck replicating it.
jack ringca love that sound, too.
jack ringca THANKSS!
Its just turned up with high gain and he's controlling the feed back with reverb in the signal.
that's not correct. the squeeky bar and block we had in that strat, shimmer effect and delay are what's making the sound. no feedback at all. i promise you.
C'mon, Seattle or KEXP. You're like the artsy scene in Canada.
I prefer the Cheryl Waters EYYYYYYYYYUP. Excellent performance though
He looks like a killer off criminal minds
I'm sorry, but this sucks.
