    The Q2n is a great backup angle for pressers and stage events. Lowlight performance is very respectable for a 1/2" chip and the mic and limiter are best in class. Works best with the Wasabi Power Clutch battery grip and a Transcend 128GB for all day recording. Sits unobtrusively on a Lollipod.

    I have a question regarding using the USB port as a power supply for Zoom Q2n 4K, when I plug in my camera directly to a power source with USB cable and power adapter my 2a batteries are still dying. The battery icon disappears from the screen which means that cable is working, but my batteries are still gone, and I tried with 3 different pairs. After 2h they are gone. What could be the problem?

    Thanks for this. One question: I do standup comedy in smallish clubs (Max 180 people) and have been filing my sets from the back of the club behind the audience with a Canon Vixia R800 camcorder. Not bad but I was wanting to see how I could improve the audio and was contemplating getting thr Røde wireless go. Would I be better off using this or would it make a good audio backup (and provide a different angle shot, of course) for the Røde?

    Cute camera, very small and light. Works well as a USB Webcam and seems to have a clean HDMI out for switchers like RGBlink. Has a built-in latency corrector button with several options. Do a test of yourself watching your lips and have a sweep hand clock in the background too. My HP5 i-5 seems to have about 180 mili-seconds latency. Also, the Q2n, the one I got, was set to 50Hz. It can be reset to 60Hz (Canadian power) to remove flicker. Also has in/out volume controls. The Q2n does not have a lens hood but the hood is available for a large sum of money. The 4K model has a build in/attached lens hood. For a cheap small camera solution, this is great until Logitech gives us an HDMI output 920 4-6K webcam. My wish... a 4K HDMI cheapo webcam with Logitech 920 quality.

The circuit board on my damn GoPro 7 fried and I'm not sure I want to fix thinking it will do it again. I did have that many hours of usage on it. Talking with the GoPro service rep was one big pain in the ass. I'm leaning to buying the Zoom.

    Purchased my Q2n-4K on Thursday, last week. Received it on Saturday. Contacted Zoom on Monday morning to set up returning the product. When you fall for "shiny stuff" you get just that. As a video product company, Zoom is a great audio product company. This is not worth the $50 dropped price to $199 and I tested all of the features in one day. It was a gallant effort Zoom but stick to audio for now because putting products like this one on the market, cheap or not, tarnishes your long standing image of quality audio product lines.

    • @ButchNews
      @ButchNews Před 3 lety

      The Q2n has an on-camera latency adjust button with several choices. If you can set it, I found 180 mili-seconds was good on my HP i5 processor. Latency is the delay in recording the image from the sound because it takes a few mili-seconds for your computer to process each image, while sound is more or less instant. Multi-Cam Lite software has a latency adjust feature for each camera. I recommend recording video on an SD card if using Multi-Cam LIte as it really taxes your processor and can often crash after about 5 minutes of recording.

    I just had mine arrive in the post, yet to test it. Looks nice, however I do have some thoughts. I Its about time they get rid of this AA battery nonsense and make it so there is a rechargeable battery built in and/or some kind of battery that can be taken out and recharged. I know they do that BCQ-2n battery case but that doesn't solve the problem as it takes 4 AA batteries..... It's 2020 man, come on now!

      Good question. When I can, I use this method for recording live bands. I use the LINE input on the Zoom H1, which can be monitored thru headphones. Almost a miracle for small bands. Often much better sound than the audience hears. I just checked the specs and it has an external input for a stereo jack, and has a gain control. There's no going back to microphones once you hear sound quality.

    Thanks for a very informative video! With the q2n 4k I was hoping I could have a shot of myself playing the guitar, then fade into free video clips from a site like Pixabay of clouds, then back near the end to my playing. That's just one example for a video of a cover song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell that I plan to make. I also have my own original music, and all just me and my nylon string guitar, my voice, and sometimes a harmonica. Can that be done with the Zoom q2n 4k?

    • @violynnkuo
      @violynnkuo Před 4 lety

      You definitely could use the Zoom Q2n-4K. I have to say, the audio is good, but I'm a little disappointed in the video quality. I thought it would be better. The video from this channel's main camera shot is much better (wonder what it is?) and you can see the difference between that and the Zoom Q2N-4K's.
      My footage from my iPhone 8+ might even be better (much sharper, less grainy), especially paired with the audio I got using the recording app Dolby On (on my phone) to get higher sound quality. I did a demo of the Dolby On app on my channel and I have videos shot with both on my channel if you wanted to compare. But I'll continue playing with it to see if it's just a matter of playing with settings.

      @@violynnkuo Hi Lynn! Thank your very much for taking the time to respond. I ended up buying the Zoom Q8 camera because I have condenser mics from many years ago that are very nice and hpefully better audio quality using them. With the Q8 you can plug in your own mics. I'm very slow to learn and hard to find any good tutorials that slowly go through the Q8 functions, even the Zoom company site has no tutorials. I see some on CZcams but they are very short and general and mainly just reviews. I don't like the owner's manual. I've gone through a home recording forum and an acoustic guitar forum to get more answers. I might try Zoom customer support again... but it's only like one question at a time. I only recorded sample videos, three, using the onboard mics that came with it. Today I'll try my 48 volt condenser mics, a second try. First try I failed to turn on the 48 volts and was using only the onboard mics. Any advice or good tutorials you or anyone know of let me know! I'm going to try now and later find your channel. I ordered the micro HDMI from Home Depot because the Zoom salesman says they don't sell that cord. I plugged it into my tv and while the tv recognizes that the HDMI slot is being used, it also says, no signal. After it's plugged into the tv and powered on, the zoom goes directly to a black screen that says Q2N, that's it. I assumed that the HDMI only serves as a monitoring method if not for that, then what? on another note, the micro USB serves as a charger and a monitoring method at least on my laptop, same results as HDMI though with the TV. would love any info on the HDMI as well.
