And, when you joined, did you get to choose a route to drive or was it given based on your knowledge. @nanaSinfo  Před 3 lety +1

      I know various routes from other garages, Peckham, Camberwell, Morden Wharf and Bexleyheath. Overtime at the moment is rare, other garages won't give you jobs until they have covered their own drivers and my garage won't send you out to another if there is a job available unless on special arrangement. When it comes to getting on night rota, you can only be lucky to get it asap, there is a queue and a very long one.

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  Před 4 lety +2

      In most cases on average it takes about 2 months to become a London bus driver. It's not hard but patience and some driving experience will help you breeze through the training. You only need to have a 1 year old driving licence with less than 6 points (that's here in the UK). My advice will be for you to get a bus licence over the Netherlands before you come so application will be easier but if you can't get a bus licence over there for cost reasons, don't worry the bus companies will get your licence but you pay them back within a year in service.

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  Před 3 lety +2

      the fastest way is to go straight to the engineers to let them aware of the issues and the normal way is to log whatever issues the bus as into a device we use to check the buses, these issues will be updated to the engineers via messages and the engineers in real time can come to your bus and fix the issues.
      if they cant, they wont turn up but they have received your defect.

    Good lord, such a long way to drive to get to the start in bexleyheath. When he gets there, the driver must already be exhausted before he even starts his route. Cant they allocate the route to a nearby garage where drivers of such route don’t necessarily drive 9 plus miles to start! Makes no sense!

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  Před rokem +2

      Well, it depends on certain factors. Garage space, available buses, engineers availability and so on. Trafalgar Square is closest to New Cross and Erith is closest to Bexleyhealth, technically all buses must come to Central London so New Cross is a better option because it's closer. They did say something about sending duties that finishes at Bexleyhealth or Erith to Bexleyhealth bus garage and those the finish at Trafalgar Square to New Cross garage, that makes alot of sense but nothing so far based on any update. One thing is for sure, make sure you get enough rest before you come in because it can be very challenging.
