  • Level, is a new student group on campus focused on raising able-ism awareness. Level's mission is to change the way people view ability.
Ariana T. Meltzer-Bruhn is a sophomore at Villanova University in the Honors College majoring in Global Interdisciplinary Studies and Economics with minors in French and Chinese. She founded LEVEL, an organization focused on raising able-ism awareness, at the end of her freshman year. At Villanova, she is captain of the women's club soccer team, a member of the Service Learning Community, and a member and facilitator of the Association for Change and Transformation (ACT) that focuses on increasing diversity awareness.
Ariana aspires to join the Peace Corps after completing her undergraduate education, and then continue on to a graduate program where she can receive a dual J.D./MBA degree. She is originally from Alexandria, Virginia where she enjoys playing with her dogs and exploring Washington, DC. She absolutely loves traveling and learning about other cultures.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

"One simple act 'out of the ordinary' can raise so much awareness" = YES! Instead of choosing to 'be a victim' Ariana chose to push her abilities' limits. We can all do this, every moment ... and much of the time we do that, we will discover more of the gloriousness of life = SO WORTH IT!
