    Thank you. This is the best suspension explanation video we've seen. Much more helpful than the official Fox videos.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!.... I just purchased a new 2022 Turbo Levo (yes.. a new 2022 in 2024!) that has the exact same fork/shock as your Stumpjumper showcased in the video, so it gave me a much better understanding of what to expect and what to do while setting it up the suspension for my own needs.

    8:39 that's the crucial step that I was missing - taking the weight off the fork to ensure you measure the full distance from zero (fully extended) to the O-ring. It's so obvious now, yet it is missing from literally every set of instructions out there. I was getting variable results when measuring until I watched how you did it, and it was all due to not measuring from zero. Great video - thanks.

    What a great well put together video. I only weigh 49kg and so sympathise with Mili. The young and the featherweight adults seem to be forgotten about by suspension manufacturers. I thought there must be lots of young lightweight mountain bikers struggling to get fork setup dialled correctly. This was great information and I see you found out there are two tokens/spacers already in these forks, which I wanted to know - thank you. I'm intending to take one out because the ride feels too harsh. Did you end up doing that for Mili?

    • @dizidoesdownhill
      @dizidoesdownhill  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Many thanks for the very kind words! I did take out one of the tokens. I think it helped smooth things out a bit for Mili but without riding it myself it’s difficult to get a real sense of the difference. Let’s hope the smaller folks are better looked after in the future as there is indeed a big hole here. Thanks again

      @@dizidoesdownhill I hope Mili is going well?. Just thought I'd update you on my journey in case it helps Mili. I've decided to buy new forks which can be adapted and professionally tuned to my weight. An expensive option but I've only got one set of wrists. I'm buying Manitou Mattock Pro forks. Also the tuning engineer I spoke with told me to take out all 3 of the tokens out of my current Fox 36 Rhythm forks.

    Hello and thank you for this great video that explains perfectly the settings.
    I got this bike today but I have a problem with the brakes two of the four rear pistons are out and don’t want to get back into position even when we push them, does anyone know how to solve this problem?

      @dizidoesdownhill  Před 2 lety

      Hey LGF. Thanks for checking out the video and for the kind feedback. Did you fix the issue with your brake pistons? Often they can be levered back into place. Sounds like yours are more stubborn….

    +1 on request for recommended pressures for lower weight riders.

    • @dizidoesdownhill
      @dizidoesdownhill  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey David, thanks for checking out the video. I’m guessing that since the fork is tuned for a more average weight rider, it become less accurate to predict a suitable setting for lighter riders. That said, we all have to figure it out so some guidance from the suspension gurus at Fox would surely be helpful.

  • @markushegna419
    @markushegna419 Před rokem

    Fox recomend 15-20% sag, but for lighter riders like her i would be using about 20-30%. Now I dont realy know what skill level she is on, but I would say the 15-20% is way to hard at almost any skill level at that weight.

    • @dizidoesdownhill
      @dizidoesdownhill  Před rokem

      Hey Markus, thanks very much for watching the video and for the insightful comment. Mili has been riding bike parks over the summer and wasn’t getting through the whole travel on the front so we let a little air out of the fork. I guess we could have taken the spacers out too - maybe we’ll do that as a quick project this winter. We didn’t lower the pressure all the way down to 30% as I didn’t want her fork to dive too much heading into berms etc. The compression damping on the fork is a little rudimentary to set and can get accidentally knocked so that went into our considerations. Perhaps we’ll throw in a GRIP 2 damper over the winter too…..! Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.
