    The translation for many "cheat" op powers in webnovels is the label that they are a cheater. But the term "exploiter" is perhaps more accurate for western culture now.

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Před 11 měsíci +1

      True. For me a cheat implies you get something for free. Exploits usually need knowledge of what you can do outside of the norm in a game.

  • @valdemarsvensson3167
    @valdemarsvensson3167 Před 2 lety +2

    Eyy, i just caught back up! still love the series so far!
    I once had an idea before to create an exploit series of my own, but then I stopped playing due to burnout. It would've been at least a bit diffirent from this series though, like I would'nt use the exploits for their best suited purposes if they felt too cheaty but still show them off in a way.
    So anyways, some of the exploits I planned to use was, starting of simple, dissabeling a sink while a dupe is using it saves on time, and you could do this with a pressure plate a filter gate and a door under every sink. 2nd is shaving neutroneum with rockets, also melting the inside of rockets using liquid steel for more space. And last but not least, building on the last exploit mentioned, using the blueprint mod saving a rocketplatform and building it inside another rocket to build a rocket inside another rocket and launching it, just for the giggles though, I don't think it would have any use other than clickbait. but the blueprints mod exploit is stupidly powerfull cause you can just copy anything, even from debugmode and place it in survival, which is why i thought copying a rocket platform would fit better for the series. There's some other ones I haven't told just too not make this comment too long and maybe incase I someday decide on making that series I still got some up my slieve.

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Před 23 dny +1

      If you mean the cooling / heating exploit
      (And hoping it still works):
      1. Create a heat or cold source in a vacuum prefferably a box of tiles
      2. Place a tempshiftplate (TSP) 1 tile above that source
      3. place a vertical door 1 tile above that TSP
      4. Place a TSP 1 tile above that door
      5. Place another vertical door 1 tile above that TSP
      6. Place a TSP 1 tile abbove that door
      7. Place a verticsl door 1 tile above that TSP
      You should now have 3 Doors in line with 3 TSP below them
      8. Add 1 last tempshiftplate above the top most door. It can only extrsct heat from the top tile of the door otherwise you will NOT have a stable system
      (In the video i extract heat from both door parts so i loose a bit efficiency)
      Now cool or heat the whole thing again so it evens out.
      When you now activate the automation it closes and opens very quickly and "clones" the temperature of the source through the doors to the topmost TSP
      Where you can then put that temperature somewhere useful
      I think the episode with the heating is a good visual for that. Just check out the next episode. :)
      Hope that helps

    Great video! Thanks for bringing this to light! I just tried building the cooling system, but upside down with the regulator on the bottom so it starts hot on the bottom and cold at the top - and i found it doesn't work the same way. I realized that the door temp xfer mechanic works from the bottom up based on the door orientation. When I laid the doors horizontally, the system moves temp from the right to the left. Sigh, I should play in sandbox more often instead of testing builds in my actual playthroughs.

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Před rokem

      Hey Stephen, yeah the system is higly directional. And there are some cool ways to transfer the temperstures faster eith diagonal transport or the use of different door setups. But the doors will always transport from the lower part to the top part (when rotated the left part to the right part).
      If you want to transport something downwards you can go down right or
      go up first then build a spike of aluminum down.

    Hey Luma! I've been trying to simplify and underatand the exploit.
    So, basically, the upper part of the door copies the lower part? And do you need multiple doors to trigger it, or is one just enough?
    In JsYoon's video he explains how the bottom part "comes into existance" 1st, and then the top. So the trick is to time it so the door opens as soon as the top part appears, right?
    Because then the bottom would have no place to transfer it's temperature to? Something like that?

    • @HenryLoenwind
      @HenryLoenwind Před rokem +3

      A bit late, but: What happens behind the scenes when a door is closed is that the game places two metal tiles where the door is. And when it is opened, those metal tiles are replaced with a vacuum. Just the same as if you were to place/break those tiles yourself.
      But when your dupes place a metal tile, they use material that has a temperature. Not so when the game does this behind the scenes---it creates the metal "out of thin air" and gives it the temperature the door "remembers". It also places/removed the tiles in a specific order. Combining that gives us: (not that I'm guessing the order and the exact transfers, see below)
      1.) The lower door tile is placed with its remembered temperature.
      2.) The lower door tile equalises its temperature with the tile below.
      3.) The upper door tile is placed with its remembered temperature.
      4.) The upper door tile equalises its temperature with the tile above.
      5.) The upper door tile equalises its temperature with the lower door tile.
      6.) The upper door tile is deleted.
      7.) The lower door tile is deleted.
      8.) go to step 1
      Here's an example with numbers, let's assume the door tiles and the tiles above/below are of the same mass and material and start at 100K below and 200K above.
      1: below:100K, lower:100K, upper:vacuum, above: 200K
      2: below:100K, lower:100K, upper:vacuum, above: 200K
      3: below:100K, lower:100K, upper:100K, above: 200K
      4: below:100K, lower:100K, upper:150K, above: 150K
      5: below:100K, lower:125K, upper:125K, above: 150K
      6: below:100K, lower:125K, upper:vacuum, above: 150K
      7: below:100K, lower:vacuum, upper:vacuum, above: 150K

      See how the average temperature of the tiles below and above started at 150K, then went to 131K and then to 127K? Or in other words, to cool down the tile above by 63K, the tile below only went up by 18K.
      And yes, you need a cascade. Each extra door is multiplying the energy taken from/dumped into the lower tile by a fixed factor. Chain enough doors and the temperature of the lowest tile will rise by 0.001K every 1000 cycles... ;)

      Aa door is actually not 1 but 2 buildings or single tiles. So thw transfer from 1. part of the door to the 2. part of the door is not instant.
      This can be abused with a fast closing door to copy the tempersture of the lower part. At least this is how i understand it works.
      Of course you can use an Aquatuner, but then you need to decide which liquid you use for the tempersture you want to archieve in the end otherwise you will freeze it.

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Před rokem

      technically yes. with reloading lag probably not in the long run.
      I only cooled it once down to around minus 200. after 1000 cycles it lowered to minus 180 or minus 160.
      then i had to recool for 5 minutes and it was fine for another 1000 cycles.
      Everytime you load the game the doors can stay closed for too long and remove thw coldness from the lower tiles. At least that is what i am guessing is the main reason. Lag issues as always :D

    • @Luma_plays

      For example: In my base it is normal, yes.
      That is because of (lag and sub optimal timing. The timing can't be optimated though since the lag changes it from 0.7 to 0.8 depending on the time I play. but too long open is fine and doesn't transfer heat. too long closed could transfer too much heat and extract the inital base tile which would mean i need to recool it a bit.

    Hey there! I got a question if you don't mind. I can't get the infinite door loop going no matter what timings I try (for the cooling setup). I got the system up and running, but my doors are at 0.4 and 1.2 seconds respectively, which means they are very inefficient at what they are doing. If I run the game on speedup mode I need to lower the timings even more. If I use sharper timings, the doors either won't ever close, or won't ever open. Any tips or Ideas what's going on there?

    • @Luma_plays
      @Luma_plays  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hey hey sure i can try to name a few things that might be the issue
      It can be that the visuals/animation just don't fit the calculations and it still works if you put it to a faster shut speed.
      And you need 3 doors. I have answered a few people that just left out parts of the setup.
      Once the initial block is cooled (and the doors all evened out) you can see that ot works by checking if the initial tile looses heat or not.
      you can only extract the heat or cold that you duplicate from the 3.door top tile via a tempshift plate.
      All has to be in a vacuum.
      Setup works best at 1 to 3 tines speed. 10x speed like i use will lead to small heat or cold losses over time from the initial tile.
      the longer the door is closed the less the setuo works.
      so keep that number small
      the longer the door is open the fewer times you duplicate the initial temperature.
      Hope one of these helped :)
