I love a bonsai bench tour. I think I'm going to give up on ficuses in my area until I habe a better setup for them, once the last ones die off. I don't have the experience or patience to keep up with their needs during these New England summers.
"Some day it will be something cool, but not today" 😂. - I feel the same about many of my trees. Impressive growth on those elms, including the Jacqueline Hillier that you just pruned. Mine looks nice and healthy but I don't have nearly the growth that you've got. Thanks for the update.
I'll be posting an update on that Jaquline Hillier Elm soon. The first trim didn't go nearly the way I'd hoped. They have some very different growing habits than the Siberian or Chinese elms!
I loved watching this update tour, but in the future, please slow down on the camera?? 1: I want to see the plants better and 2: I am getting a headache from all the quick movements. LOL But now I want to go back and watch some of the older videos on these plants. I am a new subby so I am not too familiar with your trees yet. Thanks so much!!
Thank you! And I'll try to go slower if I can remember. I think I did this on my lunch break, (I work from home half the week), so I was probably in work mode at the time. Have a good week!
The maple with the dead spot on the trunk. I wonder if sun scald could've caused it. It could make sense with the angle that the trunk is growing. Maybe at some point you could carve that dead spot and it could be a cool feature.
Thanks! It's a combination of Lowe's and Amazon lol. I get those little copper headed sprinkler heads on Amazon for about about $10 for 30 of them. Then I get the main hose line and the smaller hose lines at Lowe's. The most expensive part is the timer. It's a 4 station timer and I think it was about $70 at Lowe's.

@@BonsaiBoise I think the low humidity combined with not having a good covering. And I just can't get out there several times a day every day to mist and I've looked all over around the outside of this rental house and can't find a spigot anywhere to set up a sprinkler! It's the strangest thing...
Thanks for the updates it always a pleasure to see others collection and also a good way for yourself to keep track on development I think.
Thanks! And yeah it's fun to go back and watch older ones and see how they progressed.

@@BonsaiBoise Looking forward to that update.

I was looking at the watering nozzle. Looks like it's pointed at the dead spot. Could it be rotting from the spray being directed towards the trunk?
Nice tour, things are looking good! What irrigation system is that you went with?

@@BonsaiBoise Thanks for the insight!
Are you growing with plans to sell them or is it just your personal hobby?
It's mostly a hobby but I do sell some occasionally.
Do you ever give your bonsais thrive from zamzows?
I have some but I don't think I've ever tried it. Have you?
I do! It works great on my spruce and juniper and ficus!

Are you thinking it gets too hot for them?
