Damn, my teenage years were filled with so much awesome music! Memories come flooding back from those days when I hear this stuff. Wasn't long after this 38 special and Molly Hatchet two more Southern Rock bands came along.
Whenever i hear LYNYRD SKYNYRD i know the heavens are jamming as well nobody in their right mind would miss this a professional musicians band .

Skynyrd was around for a relatively short time before the plane crash but in that time they put out more great music than anyone in a similar time frame. My opinion only but to me, they are the greatest Southern Rock band that ever existed and one of the top five greatest Rock bands to have ever existed. The others being in no particular order, AC/DC, The Eagles, Pink Floyd and The Beatles. But that's just me.

I have come to realize this as a guitarist , & longtime fan of rock ,hip hop , metal ,reggae,roots, dub ,funk ect.They are really more iconic now to people around the globe than when they were peaking right in 1973' and again in 1977' I don't count the post crash tribute band as there was no Ronnie or Allan . There is something going on here .
This is a bad jam. Love the groove on this song. These guys are the best. You should check out The Artimus Pyle Band. He's the original drummer of Skynyrd back in the day, and his band plays these songs. The singer is amazing.

I had mentioned in a statement about listening to Hank Williams song " I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry ".
And you may not like the music part of it, but the pure poetry of this song will make you go, HHMMMM.
Because it was made in the late 40's early 50's the sound is a little different, but if you take a journey into Hank you might be surprised to hear the beginnings of Rockabilly. Love the show young man !

My favorite band, I’ve seen them several times. This song is definitely one of my favorites. The lyrics are awesome.
Now dig deeper into the Marshall Tucker Band, easily the most underrated and unappreciated band of all time. Give New Life a listen. Incredible band top to bottom. They truly are a musicians band.

Still many great songs to be heard from their first 5 studio albums that you haven't got to yet, but if you ever want to check out some post plane crash stuff, there are some damn good performances on Lyve From Steel Town. From someone who has known for a long time that Skynyrd is as good as it gets....thank you, thank you, thank you for paying such excellent tributes to them.

Would love to see a reaction to "one more time" from their last album street survivors, but was actually written in about 1971 or so. "cry for the bad man" is another great song of theirs.

True, they had many songs that didn’t make the cut and ended up being on post crash albums sold as unreleased songs…
12 inch vinyl records held 5-6 songs of 3-4 minutes on each side. Skynyrd was famous (infamous)
In the music industry for having songs 6,7,8 minutes giving A/B side only 4-5 songs.
MCA would not record them on the mother label…. Al Kooper founded a subsidiary of MCA called Sounds of the South.
The Allman Brothers situation was similar they recorded on the Capricorn records
Bro I have to agree with you on that. SKYNYRD has always always been my all time favorite band. For me it's more than just great music. And it is great music. But their songs are a way of life. I over-dosed on them in my youth and just skipped over for decades, but now I love watching these reaction videos and it brings me back to listen again. Love what you do brother.

I don't know if it's been recommended but listen to "Working for MCA" but...from the album "Second Helping". It's outrageous! I'm a guitar player and this song is absolutely fantastic. But it must be this version because of the solid sound it has.
