I borrowed money from my best friend during Covid. He treated it like business and I respected it. He asked when & how I planned to pay it back. I ended up landing a new job that had a $25k Sign-On bonus. I broke him off extra just for looking out. But I understood the principle of why he kept it business like. He has a family and responsibilities. Sometimes you gotta take the friend shit out of it.

Mine was $25k, with $15k given on my first pay check. The other $10k was rolled in my salary the second year. So I went from $75k to $85k plus my yearly pay raise.
Even better if the borrower presents the plan, so the loaner knows you serious you just need time etc. example: "Hey I need 5k, i get paid 1k each week, i'll give you 500 each week for the next 10 weeks"

My father taught me a long time ago that you never loan money. You give it with the expectation that you won’t get it back. If he asked for 2000 and I’m going to miss it I would have said can’t get you 2 but here is 500 and you don’t have to pay it back.
