Considering what happened, it's great, even prescient, that he found a way to start his business and fire his passion into reality as soon as he did. RIP.
It's a brand that I have a love/hate type of feeling about.I like the way some things look, but I get angry because I feel like he bought a label maker and went insane. I hate the "shoelaces "being labelled on the laces
Calling Virgil a “genius” is a big overstatement lol dude really started off buying used clothes and stamping his brand on it and the only reason it was successful was cuz of the people he was with. Him transitioning to LV was a change but when u think bout it, what could have he really done without LV’s monograms and identity? What we got was Off White which let’s be honest, doesn’t show much in creativity lol
Just overpraised by the Hip Hop culture. People talk about him like he was Michaelangelo or something and all he did was put words in quotation marks lmfao
@@luxecollective I couldn’t give single person. Francisco Goya, Nikola Tesla, Caravaggio, there are so many people that have made an impact on the world. Nothing Virgil Abloh has done was really original, as in invention or movement to pushing things in a new direction, he utilized creativity that others either established or were establishing which is great and creative not anything close to mark as the single most creative person to ever exist lol
@@Robot_Chris I respect the ones you’ve picked, they’ve 100% changed the world… I’d have to disagree and say that Virgil did change the industry though. He opened the door for many black creatives, he also brought streetwear to a luxury brand and helped LV keep a presence amongst a younger generation 💪
Wrong. He was absolutely a fraud. Virgil wasn’t a creator in the same way an editor can’t be credited with being an author. Yes, revising is part of the editorial process but as the most creative artist ‘ever’ name me ONE thing Virgil created that was novel that we never seen. Better yet, anything he even redefined that made us rethink how we look at the world
Yes he was a fraud. Because he didn't create anything, he just made a 3% change to the hard work of other artist and designers and proudly recieved credit. Imagine turning in a college paper on modern society, but copying word for word a paper by Jordan Peterson on the subject, and changing 3% of the paper, and put your name on it. Or taking the Mona Lisa and drawing a black line across her face and thinking you designed something. 👎 Real artist get inspired by other artist to create THEIR OWN art and express their own STYLE, not take their work and make the most minimal change and claim it as yours.

100% Agree.
Yes more creative than builders of pyramids
The word "fraud" shouldn't even be in the same sense as Virgil Abloh. Dude single handedly changed the game.
Lmfao
yet he stole designs from the same kid creators he was so called trying to help.
What a Genius! Proud to know he’s originally from Ghana 🇬🇭. Whoop whoop!
the accent and the singing. i am hooked
Thankyou!!

The man created a website where for free he explained every step of making your own brand. He was great!
P.s. it calls “Free game”
Ahh interesting thanks for sharing!
I never got it. Thanks for explaining. I don’t think it’s genius but it’s interesting.
Not a fraud. He was a. Culture Vulture. Especially when it came to the world of skateboarding

I actually hate every single thing he made at louis vuitton, literally destroyed a classic heritage brand into streetwear hype beast shit
Just overpraised by the Hip Hop culture.

@@rudiausbuddelnmaybe lv should’ve hired Kanye then? 😂😂😂
He was here and suddenly gone...still trying to catch up and figure out what it was all about.
so sad 💔
Most creative person that ever lived? He was probably cool but hardly

Virgil abloh was notty
Most people that know who he is say they love his stuff but I would put money down and bet they own zero off white shoes that aren’t collabs

I think this genius word is being thrown around too easily these days.
Meeehhhh
😆 🤣 😂 ASK Waltet how he feels about that
I tried searching, is this is a podcast too?
Hey, it's not, not yet anyway 👀
Personal opinion; off white is pure mid
The only time you'll hear the name Virgil in a Scouse accent not talking about Virgil Van Dijk
Lol
Everyone can be depending if what there doing but Virgil isn't because he's my influencer.
He's not a fraud he just copying
so I take pictures as my art form but if I see a great image am i a fraud by taking the picture of it or am i just showing the rest of the world it ?
That’s not creativity for me. He’s clever though
Very clever!
his designs were horribly ugly. nothing about it represented louis vuitton..
I’m on the way, up.
he wS OVVERRATED ASF
Amazing. Thank you buddy!!!
No problem 👍
Can someone tell me what his accent is please?
Irish?
he's scouser, from Liverpool

@@rohang8246 Wow. Not quite sure how you mistook it for Irish lol
He was good at what he did, not genius.

Yeah as a result….Everything looks the same.
mm yeah I can see that... the did do amazing work for LV though
Genius ? Not even close changing 3% of a design doesn’t make you a genius you are just copying someone else art , nothing he made was extraordinary.
Merci..It is Nike not mike
Ptt this dude did nothing but copy!!
Who?
He’s not the most creative.
Who would you say is?
@@luxecollectiveThe Waffle House has found its new host
aww ❤
I think it's time to move on from the "stealing is actually smart" "copycat = genius" in the art world. Boring.
No one is saying he’s the most creative but goddamit he’s dead. STOP IT
Nikey/Nikee is the correct pronunciation. I know you like doing them videos.
this comment did make us laugh 😭
We say Nike in England mate
Can I copy your homework and I’ll change a little bit 😂
