  • HOW TO WET FELT A SEAMLESS BAG
This wet felted purse tutorial is a simple one and it doesn’t need a huge amount of wool and viscose.
It’s also a way to create beautiful and useful gifts for your friends and family. Change the colors and the decoration, and you can personalize them for everyone.
Whether you’re learning to felt or you’re a more experienced felt maker, this project is a felting exercise you can learn a lot from.
    You’ll practice:
    • fine wool layout,
    • laying out viscose in clouds,
    • making a sample and calculating the shrinkage rate.
    I used:
    • 10 g of viscose
    • 15 g of extra-fine Merino (top)
    • and a purse metal frame
Exactly how much wool and viscose you’ll need will depend on the size of the purse you want to make. But this can give you a rough idea.
Start by drawing the size you want on a piece of paper. You can make it in any shape you like: square, rectangle, round, egg shaped, or in a trapezoid form like mine. This will depend on the metal frame you have.
Make a sample, calculate the shrinkage rate, and enlarge the pattern accordingly.
    Next:
    • Layout 2 fine layers of merino, using the traditional layout.
    • Layout 2 fine layers of viscose, using the cloud layout.
    • Felt and full with gentle techniques.
    • Cut the opening.
    • Finish fulling.
    • Let it dry.
    • Glue the metal frame onto the felt using glue that’s adequate for textiles and metal.
Watch the video above for more details.

You're welcome! Look for any brand that is adequate for both textiles and metal. I use Gütermann HT2.
