I am in my sixties so brings back a lot of memories of that era.
Me bro. This is excellent programming. No better tucker for my money….

Yes.
I have been having a Malcolm Douglas marathon for a few days now.
Incredible documentaries.
it must have been magnificent to explore this area in the 70's Mr Douglas was a special person
Malcolm Douglas what a legend. You don't get documentaries like these any more . RIP.

Ole boy got on the plane with a live sea turtle as his carry on! Amazing! Film!
Just couldnt wait to see every new video Malcolm released. I remember meeting him watching his movie at primary school in the late 70s. He used to visit schools showing his videos. Then later tv channels screened them. Absolutely loved them. For me it was Malcolm Douglas, Jack Absalom, and Major Les Hiddons aka the bush tucker man who stole the show.
What a time to be alive.
Mates could never understand how I could watch Malcolm Douglas I could not understand why you wouldn't I learned so much stuff that helped me when I was bush the man in my mind is a bloody legend
They're not mates..lol..😉😁👌👍
He was amazing.
Great to see this again....last time is about 30 years ago... first survival expert I remember. 😁

No matter how dire the situation, the smooth jazz keeps playing .
Ahhhh. Marvellous.
Woolagoodja sharing his esoteric tribal knowledge with the young lad is so beautiful to see!
Every time I light my campfire I remember Malcome Douglas
Still as inspiring in my 50's as it was when I was a kid. Great stuff - thanks for uploading.
I loved watching him growing up. But we wouldn't have these video's if he didn't have a beautiful connection with the Original People of this country. They showed him what life was really about.
I acknowledge my people from the past. present and future.
Hahahaha
Born in year 1984 watching this again in year 2024😊
Old australia is very beautiful
Absolutely incredible! Never heard of him before but am totally hooked now. Thank you!

As far as I`m concern Malcolm Douglas was the best TV adventurer ever, RIP Champ
He started the business quite literally, no one can beat him
My Dad was good mates with Malcolm and his brother Stuart (more so with Stuart) back during these times. Unfortunately Dad never got to catch up with Malcolm to do a trip together because of his accident..
RIP Malcolm Douglas
What a fantastic show. Just a simple respectful look at a fantastic amazing life.
One of our best! Along with Jack Absalom. Legends ! RIP
I used to love watching MD when I was a kid. RIP Malcolm. Brilliant storyteller.

man it must have been nice to be alive back when the oceans weren't completely fished out. the abundance is insane in this vid.
The old video footage documentary's adventure of Malcolm Douglas,,so beautiful.wow
Dreaming of the same experience. Thanks for the video sharing
Its quite something when you can see in a single human lifetime the massive difference in how many species can be found/fished. I am envious of people who lived before me. they didnt know how good they had it and I guess neither do we, compared to the next generations.
the fish are still there bud
Can’t do what they did there anymore it’s amazing how in just a couple decades how much over fishing has happened
Malcolm Malcolm Malcolm, I can watch this legend again and again just like when I was knee high to a grasshopper 👍
I fell sad seeing this what a wonderful life it was back in those days . wonder where they all are do know about Malcom but that young boy and all the people Malcom met .thanks for uploading . great video
Numya (if thats how you spell his name) must still be alive. Would love to know how things turned out for him
I remember loving watching Malcolm Douglas and also the bush tucker man (different dude but cool too) growing up. I had the pleasure of meeting Malcolm at his croc farm and got a signed photo of him with a croc. So sad how he passed. A true Aussie legend
Certainly is a Australian legend
It sure was

Man, so glad we brought culture and civilisation to the aboriginals, and saved them from this paradise and blissful existence.

So fu€ked up isn't it
The classic " noble savage " myth.

U can take a man out off the bush but u cant take the bush out of the man. Love him hes one my idols. Hes gotta have a dog by his side just like me
Unbelievable footage 😢
Fantastic
Amazing 👍👍
Brilliant and inspiring
You might have a slim chance getting your carry on luggage on board now days 😂great film RIP Mr Douglas. 😢
Now that's entertainment 👍🇦🇺
beautiful story
Beautiful them wanjana.
Very entertaining video, so many fish! Interesting to see that the indigenous could live the hunter lifestyle sustainably because primitive fishing techniques limited their catch. Given modern equipment they fish all day with excitement. I know they are feeding their families and that’s good but it’s reflective of society today. We went mad with our technology and raked the oceans.
I love fishing and keep the odd one for a feed but please never take more than you need and always respect the great big blue. It’s not like it was 50 years ago and things are only getting worse.
all us humans do is destroy and trash everything given to us and then turn it into waste.

Seen the wanjana while bogged on the floodplain come within 15 metres of us in the territory, can and will never forget it
What do you mean you seen wanjana
@@Kayne86z exactly that, big light surrounding the outer part of its face/body big round deep sun coloured eyes the light off its back would light up the mamosa like a pair of light force floodlights
@@boewynmason-campbell5450 wow what was the feeling that u felt at the time. Did u felt like u was I. Danger at the time or safe? I'm fascinated about the top end myths and mythology. @@Kayne86z watching it move was unreal above the ground about 4-6foot not so much of a body but defiantly a face it would disappear and reappear in a split second as if it was quicker than lightning,
I was with my uncle at the time we both felt the same not worried nor scared but in amazement and in the moment of looking at the wanjana we had spoken to each other asking if we were actually looking as the same thing, and within a blink of an eye it was gone,
It didn’t feel like it was hunting us more searching for something but from what I have read about them they are a protector of the land so Inso it was watching us and left us alone just doing what it does best
I still prefer a good Tripple cheese burger over any Turtles 🐢 Soup. I don't care how fresh it is Melcom.

Anybody got a hint for me on what is this soundtrack used in the early films of Malcolm? The smooth guitar tracks.. i love them, but cant find any clue on the internet. Thanks in advance
Most likely to be Don Burroughs, a jazz flautist who was a fixture on the Australian Broadcasting Commission. He had a long career with his ensemble doing TV shows and soundtracks.
@@paulchalk2939 Thanks for replying. Ive already came across him ^^
It was the same guy the whole time I think, there is an episode where he is actually with Malcolm playing his flute in the Kimberly. Frankly my favourite tune was the jazzy one of 1969 across the top end when Malcolm was gutting a 4 metre croc.

Malcolm was the original Steve Irwin
So stingrays have been hunted by man for at last 80k years or more , When Steve Irwin was killed the conjecture was the ray thought he may have been a tiger shark but man is a natural enemy too. He let his guard down there RIP Steve I was a big fan..
