I grew up in Washington and read about the mega flood hypothesis about 20 years ago. I’ve visited the scablands many, many times. I now live in SW Montana and was discussing this in one of my Geology classes. The teacher completely dismissed what I said and laughed me off as crazy. He’s a very “distinguished” geologist and author, so this shows you the uphill battle men like yourself and Carlson have had to fight to get facts out to the people. Keep up the great work!
I've lived in WA for 38 years, and I recall when I was in school that this subject was being looked into, but as yet not had consensus. I had a geology class called "Rock and Rill" (my teacher was a dork... lets be honest here), and he was a bit old school and poo-pooed most of it. He figured it was simply just glacial cutting and the like. While there is evidence of things like that all over Canada and Washington, the sudden intense geological destruction and movement of ground can show clear evidence of intense flooding from glacial damning and climate shifting.
You may be pleased to know, and can share this with your "teacher", that the USGS (United States Geological Survey) is now in concurrence that a massive flood occurred from ice age glacial breakup, as they say around 14-20,000 years ago - very close to the Younger Dryas era. This is available on nps.gov. It goes into decent detail, and I am pleased to see that this is finally being recognized.
Look up nick zentner cwu on youtube
Just out of curiosity, was the water for this flood supplied from the meltwater pulses during the Younger Dryas?
now you understand the saying, science advances by the death of one professor at a time.
I'm in the scablands right now! Yakima to be exact!
The most valuable thing in the contemporary re-evaluation of past history (as full of self deluded personalities in the past as today) is the remarkable feedback in 'fan' commentary. 'Media stars' come and go as they always have, but sometimes a rare, but truly intelligent and thoughtful bit of feedback ( sometimes only a remark) appears and is more than encouraging. To those who have led me along this path, thank you.
Randall Carlson really is my intellectual hero. I think his work is the most important of our time.
I'm learning so much more here than I did in school, and it's so much more important, that I almost feel sorry for everyone else in the world.
In another twenty years Ben will have a megaphone shouting who is in charge around here. Randall Carlson is an endless source of knowledge on many topics, I see the same thirst of knowledge with Ben soaking it all in wherever he travels and whatever he studies. Have fun on your trip to the scablands this year.
Yes, Ben is super educated and experienced and a great addition to Randall's tours! (and vice versa! Even if Randall DID join the Egypt tour by computer!)
My first experience listening to Randall was on a long episode of the JRE, with him and Graham Hancock.
Randall brought hundreds of amazing photos, and at one point he talked about, and showed examples, of water erosion across the land from airplane and drone footage. Then he compared the erosion patterns marking the flow of water.
At that point he began to talk about the fractal nature of water erosion on geography. Pointing out patterns at the miles scale, and showing how they look nearly identical at the inches scale at a beach.
This more than anything was my "ah-ha" moment. When the magnitude of the ancient flow of water across north America finally clicked, and I understood just how terrifying and monstrous that flow must have been.
How absolutely deafening the sound would've been. How absolutely everything humans have ever built - even now - would've been ground to dust (or wet mud).
I really wish Randall would bring this up more often. It punches through all the words and numbers. It hits you in the brain and the gut. You finally get just how apocalyptically devastating this cataclysm was.
I hope he reads this. Or that someone who does passes it along to him. It was such a powerful and effective way to convey the magnitude of the event he's trying to teach us about.
I wish I could afford this. I'm glad there are others out there that can keep this knowledge and still learn. This is a 'someday.....' trip for me
Same here.
The fact that North America was covered in KMs of ice is crazy, let alone the thought of a great enough cataclysm to melt all that ice....The way RC explains and the site evidence, huge bolders just dragged all across the site like it was easy...that alone shows that it was a a brutal and sudden event.
And it asks how many cataclysms like that we as species faced? i think it was a global event, one big enough to echo and influence every continent for generations, and told by the survivors ad inifinitum, until it became just another tale to make kids sleep
What a Colossal Amazing Beautiful Spectacular show of Force that must have been when the water was as high as the buettes and ferociously carving away at the land! 😺😺
I raised my Kids in Eastern Washington. My husband is from Lewiston, Idaho & my Brother in laws family lives in the Tri Cities, Wa. We now live in Billings, Montana. The Geology in the Scablands is A LOT like the Geology of Central /Eastern Montana into Wyoming (check out Bighorn Canyon!). Fascinating Stuff!! Thanks Ben!
Blown away! Ben, you captured the essence of the event! Thank you!
Somehow, this old lady has GOT to get up to one of these expeditions. Thanks again, Ben! Nailed it!
Wow Ben. You've taken this video to another level with a well timed sound track and epic drone footage. Well done!
Lol seriously it was like crusty demons of dork
The intro itself is a BLAST !
Wow that music was beautiful. Was not expecting, thank you!
Ben -- this is such an excellent video with Randall's cogent summaries with the maps, but then just letting the stunning landforms speak for themselves. As an Easterner, I've only been to Colorado around Boulder and to California around San Francisco. As stunned as I was to see the amazing geology of those areas, watching Randall's and Graham Hancock's videos about the megafloods of the Scablands years ago was gobsmacking! AND now this great drone footage is a profound contribution to their work. I don't understand how anyone, however hidebound, who has the least grasp of hydrogeology, could disagree with Randall's clarifying exposition of the creation of these landforms. Thanks for the work that all of you are doing, but especially for your lucid explanations of all your research and the well-made videos of so many sites. Cheers!
It's actually pretty astonishing when you get a sense of the scale of it, especially from the air. This area covers pretty much the Eastern half of Washington, not exactly a small state. Plus some of N. Idaho. And that's basalt, not exactly a soft squishy rock. LOL
The amount of water must have been incredible.
The basalt here is crumbly look at Hell’s Canyon, not even that old but yeah, massive water.
Sweet! I love to fly like an eagle drone. Thanks Ben. I look forward to continuing my education through your gifts.
Well put together video Ben. The music was phenominal and went perfectly with the scenery.
This has one HELL OF AN OUTRO!! Of epic proportions.. should give everyone chills looking at that. And it's a crazy place when I was there, we rented jetskis down in one of those rivers in a canyon. I had NO IDEA about any of this... most don't. Seriously great video.
Was fortunate to find this show a few years back … it makes me feel good to know that I’m not the only one that’s open to always question everything the main stream is trying to tell us. Doesn’t matter what it is … if there’s any chance for people to profit from it I’m mostly inclined to not believe it it first until it can be proven otherwise.
Check out how much it cost to attend this magical mystery tour, Tinfoil Hats are provided for all participants 🤣
@@BillSikes. Then why are you here?
@@falconquest2068
I come straight to the comments, to read the responses from all the gullible fools that lap it all up like naive little puppies, just like the one above, he's suspicious of anyone asking for money, but he prepared to pay the con men selling all this rubbish, it's great amusement 🤣
@@BillSikes. Did the the mainstream supply you with boots to lick?
Pattern recognition and critical thinking obviously isn't your forté
@@funkymunky7935
Hey critical thinker, don't take that Tinfoil hat off !
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine what anyone living there would have seen when the floods started. How terrifying would that have been seeing a hundreds of feet wall of water bulldozing the landscape.
He would be dead in 10 min.
i wonder it must have sounded like a 1000 trains moving towards you jesus fucking christ fuck horror movies this is what i believe alot of folk lore is build on i know for a fact norse mythologi talks about giants and gods fighting and a giant fire came after that the world was swallowed by the ocean or something arround that... i wonder if those giants or gods... was... lets talk about the ragnarok story because im from scandinavia im just using this... ("solen sortner or jorden synker ned i havet stjernerne falder fra himlen heden brænder højt og lejer ildtagfat med himlen) = (the sun darkens the earth descends beneath the ocean the fire burns high to the heavens) when they said the sun darkens i think about a asteroid debree covering the sun (THE SATRS FALLING FROM HEAVEN = ASTEROIDS GUYS... and now we talking about the earth descending to the ocean (MEGAFLOOD) those stories of atlantis and ragnarok are so similar randall carlson is the reason i believe they are based on true events!!!
Aye mate, it was your video like this a year ago that prompted me to sign up last year. One of the coolest things I've ever done in my life. I'm grateful to have been a part of that experience.
Good times Will! Was great meeting you and hanging out that week :)
Loved the birds and the music! And of course the information. Thank you
If I were younger, healthier and could arrange vacation times, I would absolutely love to join in on these treks and adventures... It would definitely be a great educational experience and I'd actually have something to tell my peeps about, once I got home. I'd also love to see so many of the other world wonders like Egypt, Rome, Peru and so on... I guess I had my chance way back when but didn't even think about these new revelations that have come to light recently... due in large part to the people like Ben, Randall, Graham Hancock and all similar heroes putting these excellent programs on the internet.
Get healthy and do it!!
Given the first few words of your post I would say avoid group tours. Especially Egypt or Peru. The itinerary is relentless in some very hot and sweaty places. Book your vacation time, go with a family member, and do stuff at your own pace....peace to ya.
I have been extremely fortunate to have visited both Rome and Peru. Peru will absolutely bend you mind. The only words that can express how I felt about the ancient megalithic sites in Peru are, "Wait a minute, somethings not right here." The advanced technology used to carve and shape stone just don't add up with what we have been taught about ancient humans. The scale of the Nazca lines are equally as intriguing. If anyone tells you that it nothing to do with being made to be visible from the sky is crazy. Actually the lines are a window into the technology they once possessed and that would include the ability to hover in order to design the intricate lines of the shapes. As I said, it is completely mind bending.
@@falconquest2068 Hey Falcon, I have been to Rome as well. Amazing place. I was lucky and was in a lovely air conditioned hotel. The moment I walked out it was like stepping into an oven which is why I posted a cautionary warning to @Loupy. The Sistine Chapel is a bucket list thing.....peace to ya.
I'm nearly 70 now, retired on a small pension and after two botched spinal surgeries, I can barely stand up straight or walk without a walker and have difficulty negotiating stairs.
What I meant in my comment was for younger, healthier and more fit people with a deep interest in this kind of stuff is to go for it while you still can.
The TN valley is a focal point of the same era flooding that eventually fanned out into Mississippi and Louisiana. Started at the St Lawrence Bay and also entry from the Atlantic coast, Ny and Nj. The Hudson Bay bursted its natural dam and flooded the Midwest/Ohio valley and created the Mississippi river valley. Maps are awesome.
Even before the YDI theory I remember family highlighting the rather apparent geologic signs of massive multiphase impacts creating Hudson Bay and a scattering various other scars southeastward into the United States. It was only decades later that I realized most academic and official sources had other opinions.
Amazing coverage. It is beyond words to describe such beauty. Thank you for all of your hard WORK UNCOVERING OUR TRUE HISTORY!!
I love Randall Carlson such an intelligent person love his work and the work he's done with graham hancock
The last half of this presentation trigger a lucid daydream in me.
👍👍
awesome music, awesome clips, awesome info, awesome video! well done Ben and friends
Looks like a great trip with some interesting people and amazing landscapes. Love the drone footage Ben.
This was superb Ben.
Always enjoyable to sit in with you all! Thank you
Ben's the best. Ben compliments Randall and his best efforts. Total class act😁
Ben, thanks for exposing us to Fifty Dollar Dynasty. Great tunes!
The Adam and eve story published by the Cia is a good start. When the poles move the water does too. Buckle up
Absolutely Amazing...
At the 13 min mark that canyon wall is a record of each mega flood to hit this area of thousands of years
This is an amazing video !
Thanks to Randall Carlson for the presentation and information about Scablands and the megafloods. Simply amazing and something that should be studied intensely until we all know the truth !
Thanks also to Ben from UnchartedX for the upload of this video and for introducing me to Fiftydollardynasty, particularly the track "Deos" that accompanies the video with the aerial drone footage. It really matches the incredible scenery and seems to speak to us saying "look, the evidence is in front of you, shout it out to the world."
I've come along late to all this megalith, pre-dynastic part of our world history but am totally convinced there's far more to be learnt, especially from Egypt and the areas being denied to us.
Thanks again, particularly to Ben whose videos showed me the light !
I would love to see you and some of your content featured on GBNews. They're not afraid to broadcast "alternative" viewpoints and they have Neil Oliver as one of their presenters.
Fantastic video! You helped me to remember the best, by far, field trip I’ve ever been on. You captured the impossibilities of the landscapes and essence of the group. Thank you so much.
HOME RUN, BEN!!! What a great video.... awesome.
This was really cool Ben.......thank you so much
Water ripped and craved the landscape like an ocean wave rolling over a sand castle.
Awesome footage of this amazing land.. Thanks to all whom created breathtaking footage and educational information and important story. If only a miracle, then I can be with you guys on next trip 2022 , truly inspirational you are Ben, Randel and the crew.. Bless you all
I was born just south of the scablands in 1946. We saw Dry Falls went fishing in the Pot Holes (O'Sullivan Dam) but didn't know the real story.
Ben thanks for sharing, you editing is off the charts!!!
That's amazing footage, thank you. So many years had to go by before we could finally comprehend what these landscapes were telling us.
Great summary and highlights of the 2021 Scablands tours. I was there!
Wow, what a great injection of wonderment!
Awesome footage and music at the end. You can really see the way the water has carved through the rock. Puts it all into amazing perspective. Great stuff 👏🏻
I grew up in Missoula and the flood was taught early, early on. It was great living there!
I'm laid up for a few days. This made a boring sat night a lot better
Good tune for you guys
The soundtrack at the end is dope AF man!
Awesome video...Thank you guys for all the informative work you have done here....
Always enjoy the content! Thanks for sharing your passion.
Randall Carlson is amazing love listening to him
It's so obvious it wasn't gradual.
I also read that the grand Canyon was formed quickly from the release of most of the great Salt lake. A lake many many times greater than what we know of today
What a great document you left here. A solid combination of words and visuals, an ode to a story that in this way can no longer be denied. And the 50dollardynasty song at the end, just amazing, amazing work!
Came back again to enjoy the last 6 minutes... Phantom flight with this incredible piece of music : DEOS ! by 50 Dollar Dynasty, Kyle's band, one of the Brothers of the Serpent... Well, of course RC is awesome, as usual would I say....
Wow🤯 freaking awesome, have fun guys 🍻🚀☄🎭 INRI
Amazing drone footage.
Check out some of Nick Zentner's videos on the geologic history of this and other regions of the pacific north west. He has several excellent videos on the Missoula floods and how they shaped the geologic features that we see today.
Unbelievably fascinating would so love to join you in checking out the Channeled Scablands all those aerial drone shots … the evidence is looking straight at you Randal Carlson is the man 🤙🤙
We need a Mad Max themed metal music video with the band on floating platforms above while the mega flood comes rolling across the landscape and cometary material rains from the heavens.
Another great video. Good stuff man
I live in the scablands. I've never been able to look at it the same since the first time I heard Randall speak.
GREAT INFO THANKS
What s great piece of music for the video outro sequence
Wow! The drone footage was stunningly Beautiful! Thank You ❤️
Music in the final portion of the video was sensational!
Cool! I hope to see you guys, when you get here.
Hey! I spotted the bowl and pitcher in your intro! You came to Spokane! I hope you enjoyed your visit and that our driving wasn't as bad as they are over in Renton. ❤
Intro 🤟👍 and the end rocks also!
intro music is very "the drills" . very good stuff.
The music and production quality of this is so good !
Somebod ought to do a computer generated video of the entire flood from a top view moving along zooming in and out at the crucial places.
That and the soundtrack of this video, at the end, would also make a great movie.
Love the intro!
Would totally watch a reality slightly comedic series called
The Scabland Bros.
Jesus Christ man. The Younger Dryas event must have been fucking wild. So much force and power in these floods alone never-mind the rest of the shit that would have been going on. Great aerial footage holy shit.
There should be a massive search at the outlet of many rivers and also where shorelines were pre glacial meltoff . That is where alot of the answers may be. For example, how about where the Nile empties off Egypt ? How about under the sea off Egypt, where the shoreline was pre Glacial meltoff ? All those enigmatic stone cutting tools have to be somewhere ? There's probably also alot of answers in the sediment where these great floods emptied out into the sea. May even be preserved. Love the channel and thanks for the interesting videos.
It's a whole lot easier to say "let's scour the continental shelf for evidence of ancient things" than to actually excavate the delta fan of a river a hundred feet deep in the ocean looking for evidence of human artifacts that are buried alongside and under thousands of years worth of flood and river silt. Is the stuff there? Probably. Is it lost forever as a result? Probably.
Beautiful song and video!
I love the channel, and GeoCosmic as well. These "Visual Aids" are crucial to the uninformed and newcomers, I would go so far as to say vital, in their understanding. That drone did more for the community than any dissertation or essay ever could. More of this, and you may crack open a new following, that we need to get the messages out about our "LOST" World. PEACE
As someone who lives not so far from this particular area of Washington, it's so obvious that so long ago that this was created by a large flood to ever be seen by mankind.
randall carlson rocks>>>>>
Oh my God what an absolutely terrifying thought! You could probably feel it and hear it before you could see it coming and I'm sure the people in the area thought it was the Gods coming to punish them. I would have preferred to have been right at ground zero, rather than having "survived" that unimaginable cataclysm. It's incomprehensible! Probably very few people did survive!
I grew up in Ellensburg and we would go out there all the time. Literally just a few minutes away. Right on the edges of the terminal moraines.
Nice video! Great music and camera angles at the end there!
Nice one Ben!
What a gang!!!
That's an awesome map and explanation. 👏👏
The West Bar is what drops my jaw every time.
Realizing the power required of the water, to create those ripples on THAT scale.... it is absolutely mind blowing and amazing.
the soundtrack at 9:00 , I'm obsessed, listened too many times now. well done. I hope to be on one of your adventures to Egypt someday. It is on the bucket list! cheers from Canada.
Randal is great.
hes so cool . randall is
This was epic
best intro ever LOL! you gotta love Randall
Lovely 😎
Growing up in country Western Australia in the 70s and 80s was frustrating for a young enquiring mind interested in the mysteries of the Ancient World. Your series and documentaries have been a fascinating insight into the possibilities if human history. I do ask if you have any information of the impact and any significant signs of the ydb impact on Australia.
One of the theories going around is that a massive wave a kilometer high swept over western Australia, leaving deposits picked up from the ocean floor along the western coastline. The story of the Rainbow serpent is intriguing. Most ancient cultures called the Draco constellation, the serpent or dragon. This constellation also is the point in the sky where the Draconids appear ever year from. It is suspected that the Draconids were responsible for a catastrophic event that in Australia's case transformed the face of the continent.
"New data collected by Dr Burrows from the Franz Joseph Glacier in New Zealand shows that during a period known as the Younger Dryas event, towards the end of the last Ice Age, Australia and New Zealand actually got warmer."
"Temperature reconstructions from Tasmania, based on both chironomid and pollen data, show no evidence for Younger Dryas cooling. By contrast, there is evidence for cooling associated with the Antarctic Cold Reversal, from Tullabardine Dam pollen data and the sediment organic content from Eagle and Platypus Tarns in Tasmania. Records from a number of eastern Australian mainland sites provide no evidence of effective precipitation shifts concurrent with the Younger Dryas Chronozone. Similarly, reconstructions of discharge from the Murray-Darling Basin, which covers a large proportion (14%) of the Australian continent, and dust transport from a larger portion of the continent also show no evidence of climate shifts concomitant with the Younger Dryas."
It is so weird to see my stomping ground in your videos. I have to see you guys when you come up. This is so exciting.
Great video! There are Native American oral accounts of the Clearwater River running backwards to at least the area of Orofino, Idaho. I think we can take their word for it.
I can remember as a kid, growing up in the Appalachian mountains, digging through a sand embankment and finding small (about half inch) fossilized seashells and thinking to myself "how in the heck did these get here?"
Looking back at it, the sand shouldn't have been there, either...
