This is a basic Salem gameplay demo. It is not quite up to date, as we have taken out the Spy card and added the tokens since this demo was filmed. A new demo will be put up when the game is launched in November.
I just love how you when about this video. Not too overly chatty; and it's very much helpful to watch the game being played as your explain it. Thanks so much!
Pretty low and lower as you get more players. Sometimes I like playing with 6 trial cards just to make it harder for the townspeople. 1/5 x the amount of people if you think about it.
Each night the town should vote on who to burn, then the accused gets have a defense followed by a re-vote. Conspiracy should just be new cards drawn and added to the players 5 and if there are less than 5 players the game should start with livestock or children token that get killed each night, once they are all gone the witch wins. House rules need to be added so that ALL the witches need to be found. I am totally going to play this where conspiracy just adds an extra card or stacks on top of one of the cards. (so you can only win if no one is attacked at night) Other than that this is the best version of this style game because there is no DM or closing eyes.
In the demo you used the Spy card which ended up getting removed from the game. Was it that card that gave you the ability to decide who gets the Black Cat along with the Witch? I was left confused as to why there were 2 witches at the start of he game...
+Andrew Lane The Spy card was a Tryal card that let that person view any 1 Tryal card during the Night. We removed it since. I don't quite understand your question. Only the witches decide who is given the Black Cat at the beginning. The Witch cards have the potential to spread with the Conspiracy card.
At the beginning of the game it was the player to your left that was a witch, but when it came time to give another player the Black Cat card, you handed it to the player on your right. You didn't change cards with the actual witch to your left at that point so you shouldn't have been involved in that step...am I missing something?
+Andrew Lane Good question. This demo shows the placing of the Black Cat incorrectly. Lauren, to my left, was the only witch at the beginning, so she would have been the only one to place the Black Cat card. I shouldn't have been involved in that step.
+Travis Hancock That explains it . . . i thought maybe the Spy had some weird role where it can help the witches in that step or something. Thanks for the clarification! BTW, I'm introducing it to my game group tonight... :)
It wasnt shown in the video but there's extra things such as character cards and a gavel where it can be used to show who got killed and saved by moving those objects at night. If you search up an image on what is included in the salem game you'll see what I mean. Hope that helps.
Only on the First Night it is put into play. After that, treat it like any other Blue Card. It can be discarded with curse, moved by Scapegoat. If it filters through the deck and into someone's hand, they can play it on another player.
The Spy card was part of some of our testing before the game was published, but it was ultimately removed for the final version because of some gameplay issues it presented.

Brief and clear. Great tutorial video!
Thanks for the info!

Thanks! I just got this game and seeing people play is helpful. And it's nice and quick!
Glad it helped! Facade Games just released this new How to Play video as well: czcams.com/video/9fSrE51ioQc/video.html
@@TravisHancock I just got Bristol also. About to look for that video next lol
@@annahudson4693 Oh that's great news! Enjoy! And yes, I'm sure we'll be doing a nice little Bristol How to Play video soon :)
Thanks, but I wish the camera was a good bit closer to the table.
That was very, very helpful! Thanks a lot. Hope you have another gameplay tutorial playing Tortuga.
That is one of my favorite game bro I recommend y’all play this game
I like the theme and art. What are the chances of revealing the Witch card on the first Tryal card a player has to reveal?

👌👌 well explained
wow, so 360p was the limit huh
Have you ever considered a companion app that we can download on the appstore or playstore? So it can moderate the night phase?
Just have a person read out things and keep there eyes closed. Or open them if they have a special ability.
@@rockie4200 he was being sarcastic bc of the app

+Andrew Lane Awesome, thanks for spreading the witchcraft!
How many accusation cards are there? It looks they never end😅
Don't you start with three cards already in your hand?
Yes, in the newer edition (Salem 1692), players do start with three cards in their hand
That also explains why there is no spy card in my game ;-) Thanks for the clarification.
But how did the player know the witches wanted to kill him without the witches revealing themselves to say so?

wtf top guy drawing cards
does the black cat card move every night or just the first night?
Only on the First Night it is put into play. After that, treat it like any other Blue Card. It can be discarded with curse, moved by Scapegoat. If it filters through the deck and into someone's hand, they can play it on another player.
I just bought this game and it has no spy card in it..? How is that possible
The Spy card was part of some of our testing before the game was published, but it was ultimately removed for the final version because of some gameplay issues it presented.
No Constable?
There was a Constable. The person on the bottom of the screen was both a witch, Constable, and spy.
