  • Here, Steven introduces what it means to live the truth. This is an introduction to a series of talks. Being authentic in life means living the truth-living the realization. Just because we have a deep realization does not mean that we will live it. Realizing the true nature of ourselves and reality is just the beginning of allowing that realization to live through us.

Sir, one of my friend whose relative is a monk says that one has to give up material life to attain nirvana/ moksha as the relationships lead to distraction
    Is it true?

This is a tricky question to answer. Most monks would have this perspective as they have given up material life. It would be difficult to say that it’s not necessary when you have already done it. I’ve lived with different groups of monks are quite familiar with their perspectives. There’s nothing wrong with this, it’s just the path that they took. It is not the only path. Is quite possible to have full realization and live lay person’s life. On this path, it is vital to continually examine one’s relationship to material possessions and material life. Is there a identification and attachment? Do we find our identity in certain relationships and activities? and this investigation gets even trickier as the ego will continually deceive us with regards to our relationship to material life. I hope you found this helpful. If you have any follow up questions, please feel free.

@@drmindfulness it is really helpful. Just knowing that it’s possible to attain it while living a lay persons life is a relief. Other things I am continually working on. ❤️🙏🏻
