Regarding the point about same sex marriage books being banned in schools: I think that could be seen as a civil issue in which the government has a right to legislate and people can agitate on. We just need to know what principles we are standing on. I think similar difficulties were encountered by early adventists in advocating for the government to prohibit the sale of alcohol. Many of the people they worked with believed in Sunday law. But Adventists tried to work with them while distinguishing what the govt could and could not do according to how they understood God's will
