    Just wonder if there is a M50 successor this year. If not, I will buy a M6 Mark II on black friday.

    I feel like everyone that has the m50 is snagging the m6 mkii. I personally have both as well. I am also turning my eos m w/ magic lantern into my c cam. Hopefully ya'll will see some cool content from me soon. Great review. Cheers folks.

    Very informative and well put together.. 👍Ty... 😎

    I have the M50, and am so tempted by the M6II, but been holding off since it came out. The flip-up screen and the no viewfinder is what has made me wait. Didn't realise that the silent shutter on the M6II wasn't crippled like the on the M50! WOW!… I'm hearing murmurings of an M5 mkII, so gonna wait and see. 🤔

    Went with the m6 mark ii a few months back. By the way very nice video and editing. It would be awesome if you did some tutorials on how to make a good quality video, and what settings you’re using with the camera. Keep up the good work!

      thank you! always nice to have the effort noticed. I actually had a video like that in mind already, anything specific you'd like to see?

      Drive By Reviews maybe make a short video, but then after the video show what lenses you used for different shots and what settings you used in the camera, along with what you did in post. Just an idea cuz the style of how you do your videos is always great!

    Hi, nice video, as usual. I just watched your more recent video on video AF speed and sensitivity settings on the M6 Mk II. I was curious what settings you used in the above video (the one I'm commenting on) because the AF was terrific and never drifted. Keep up the great work! 🙂

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 3 lety

      There was a bunch of variations in this video, but opening shot was m6mkii with sigma 30, then used the m200 speed boosted 50mm for any shots with both m50 and m6mkii together.

    love my m6ii - but i do miss the built in evf. hoping the m5ii (rumoured this year) is the m6ii with ibis and built in evf.

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 4 lety +1

      I picked up the EVF-DC2 to try out and was surprised to find how accustomed to using the screen I was. And with the m6ii style of flip up screen it made it awkward to do both when shooting low angles. I'll do a review video of the EVF, but I'm with you in hoping for IBIS and a m50 style screen with an EVF. (I did however just do a low light shoot with a model and forgot the EVF. Found out editing how badly I needed it once I had to start upping the ISO)

    Great comparison. I love my M50 so it’s not worth the slight feature upgrades. If it had dual pixel AF in 4K I’d justify an upgrade.

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 4 lety +7

      the m6 mark ii? It does has DPAF in 4k along with no crop! currently the go to canon aps-c for video 👍

    • @jhalscott
      @jhalscott Před 4 lety +2

      Drive By Reviews huh, I thought it was missing DPAF in 4K. Well now, maybe I will upgrade.

      @Grayish Man Do you shoot stills at all? The M6 Mk II is significantly better for photography than the M50.

    • @jhalscott
      @jhalscott Před 4 lety

      cooloox sometimes i shoot stills. I got the M50 for vlogging. Sounds like the upgrade is definitely worth it.

    Good video I do have m6 mark2 I like it but when I use the sigma 56mm my photos doesn't come nice but If i use canon 32mm my photos come good I hope you do vedio about that sigma 56mm for canon

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 4 lety

      Just got the sigma 56 and I really hope that's not the case. It's supposed to be one of the sharpest lenses! Will get that video out soon for sure

    How is the 4K quality on the M6II, compared to 1080p? Ive seen in other reviews that it's much softer and less detailed than the Sony A6400 for example.

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 4 lety

      would make sense since the m6ii is up sampled while the a6400 is down sampled 4k. I like the look of the m6ii 4k so far, but I'm shooting for classic motion blur at 24p and 1/50 shutter. I should borrow my buddies a6400 and do a side by side

      you can buy one that goes into the hot shoe, I have it but don't use it unless it's very sunny

      @@DriveByReviews yep, but then you can't use a flash, so dumb

  • @RockWILK
    @RockWILK Před 3 lety

    Doesn't the M50 ONLY shoot in 24fps in 4k? You just lose auto focus and get that crop...

  • @RP-ms7lu
    @RP-ms7lu Před 3 lety

    M6 look softer clearly . M50 shots are very sharp.

  • @TaiwanisMoving

    4:57 no way that's an actual crop is it?

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  Před 4 lety

      the portrait and night downtown shot are just illustrating how you might crop your own photos, or blow them up, which is what makes the extra MP valuable.
