What country do you think is the happiest in the world? Well, after hearing from many traveler friends that it might be this small country... I had to go see it for myself. I am personally on a mission to understand the basic parameters of joy and happiness so going on a trip like this was a dream come true...
Where should we travel to next?

Thanks for watching! Despite what you might see in the video, Bhutan was actually quite challenging for me to travel to. The trip was planned very last minute so I didn't have time to do much research, I was still jet-lagged from the 14-hr time difference and the elevation was having weird effects on my headspace. But I pushed through even though filming alone in these conditions makes it so much harder to bring positive energy into it. Sitting down with the ex-Prime Minister and hiking to Tiger's Nest completely changed everything in the end however.
I'm on a bit of a personal journey of understanding what the fundamental parameters of joy truly are, so going on a trip like this had quite of a profound effect on me in the end. Hope you got something out of it and looking forward to capturing more of the world's beauty. - Thomas

Lily A. There is not a single person in Bhutan who had not met the kings. Our kings travel to the remotest places just to meet the locals. So if ever, the foreigners are given the chance to get an audience exclusively then it is because we love to make our guest feel special as well as, is a symbol for showing the warm hospitality and respect. No Bhutanese will be offended or feel deprived of equal opportunity to interact or take photo because we have all meet our kings and we love you all to have that experience too.

Once I attended a session. And bhutan's prime minister was invited there as a speaker. He said 60% of land in Bhutan is reserved for forest areas. And it is mandatory by law. Great concept.
As if he has a great control over it. The growth of trees and the feasibility of setting up industries in remote mountains. Hah.
@@sauravbasu8805 people in our country are still happy without big industries.... Big industries are not necessary for us, India help us everyday. Our country mainly focus on gross national happiness than gross national product. Do you understand economic? Please understand this before replying some dumb answers.
@@thinleydorji3749 There is a difference between I cannot and I do not. You yourself said that India helps you everyday. I simply wanted to say that the geography and sparse sporadic population of Bhutan is not conducive to set up big industries there. Get real. Of course you are selling that concept to the gullible and rich foreign travellers. Tourism is a great part of your economy , you can't deny that.
I do not have anything against Bhutan or Bhutanese people. For every country, there are some constrains due to past history , geographical location and economics.Who knows, perhaps this little debate will continue in your house in Bhutan with cups of hot tea between us !

I’m all in awe. This vlog made me so emotional yet so satisfying, as it lead to the fact that we are not the happiest countries in the world but we do have the benefits that other countries don’t and that’s where we draw the line. I love this vlog not because this explains about my country but because of how its made with very down to earth intentions, and how praying in monastery made him feel real and was all collected with emotions. Enlightenment is real in my country, our king has that thing. We can never look up straight through but to bow down because respect comes naturally and not forcefully. I love you host. i believe it might be the happiest country in the world if all its politicians are like that.
Here? You mean there?
As a Bhutanese, I couldn't be prouder to say I am a Bhutanese. Being the happiest country doesn't mean that, everyone is happy but it means that the people are content and don't have many issues regarding the style of life they live
I wish i was in that envirment right now being stuck in qurantine is not helping

Could.you please.give me your email.adress
This video is exceptionally crafted, showcasing high-quality footage expertly edited together. The tour guide's friendly demeanor added to the experience. The highlight for me was when you reached the mountain peak, arms outstretched towards the temple; a truly inspiring moment.

Greetings from Poland. Your movies and travels are very interesting. I Learn English and I watching with pleasure :)
I had a experience when I was at a church and I walked in and after a few minutes I got the best feeling in the world. It was like all my bad and negative in me and my anxiety were all gone. Really made me enjoy my life a lot
Yeah but church is lacking penises on the walls to protect from evil
Yea same thing happened to me and I’m not a Cristian, I feel like all religions have that same energy when in practice
religion kills people
Moon Holiday religion isn’t good. It’s having a relationship with God that is good. The church can make you feel peace because the people there have a relationship with God.
Awesome dude!!!
For a country shoved between India and China, the residents there strangely look Chinese but sound Indian at the same time...
Kurohme the country ‘shoved’ between India and China is Nepal
@@snehabhattarai9036 Notice how I said "a country" rather than "the country"
Fun fact: Bhitan was once a part of India. Also most of Indians from the Himalayan region and Northeast India look like that and have sort of a different culture from the rest of India
We don't look like Chinese nor sound like Indian. We look like Bhutanese and we sound like Bhutanese. That's why we never lost our country's sovereignty to any other countries. ☺️
@@kanishkaparashar1922 source of information please? I'm a Bhutanese, completed all my school years also from here but never heard about this 'fun fact'.
so beautiful
