Thanks for watching! Despite what you might see in the video, Bhutan was actually quite challenging for me to travel to. The trip was planned very last minute so I didn't have time to do much research, I was still jet-lagged from the 14-hr time difference and the elevation was having weird effects on my headspace. But I pushed through even though filming alone in these conditions makes it so much harder to bring positive energy into it. Sitting down with the ex-Prime Minister and hiking to Tiger's Nest completely changed everything in the end however.
I'm on a bit of a personal journey of understanding what the fundamental parameters of joy truly are, so going on a trip like this had quite of a profound effect on me in the end. Hope you got something out of it and looking forward to capturing more of the world's beauty. - Thomas

Lily A. There is not a single person in Bhutan who had not met the kings. Our kings travel to the remotest places just to meet the locals. So if ever, the foreigners are given the chance to get an audience exclusively then it is because we love to make our guest feel special as well as, is a symbol for showing the warm hospitality and respect. No Bhutanese will be offended or feel deprived of equal opportunity to interact or take photo because we have all meet our kings and we love you all to have that experience too.

Get real. Of course you are selling that concept to the gullible and rich foreign travellers. Tourism is a great part of your economy , you can't deny that.

This vlog made me so emotional yet so satisfying, as it lead to the fact that we are not the happiest countries in the world but we do have the benefits that other countries don’t and that’s where we draw the line. I love this vlog not because this explains about my country but because of how its made with very down to earth intentions, and how praying in monastery made him feel real and was all collected with emotions. Enlightenment is real in my country, our king has that thing. We can never look up straight through but to bow down because respect comes naturally and not forcefully. I love you host. It is an honour you met up with the ex PM of Bhutan spending quality time with him at his residence. I did not know there is another carbon negative country in Suriname, but glad to learn. At the time of my visit, at least Bhutan was the sole country. Finland has been officially recognized last few years by some global index as the world's happiest country through my research since a year or so. But when I had gone, and for a long time since, I always knew Bhutan as a happy go luck country with people always happy and smiling. It was great to know this country, because most of the time we only have an idea on the most common country there is, but this channel has given us ideas, that there are more beautiful places exist, not just places but also culture, and great people.
