    if you had a hose clamp, it means someone already replaced a clamp or hose before. Could have been wrong hose used, or hose clamp too tight. Should be spring clamps so hose can expand a bit as the metal tube it goes into expands when hot. (But I used hose clamps for a similar repair where I bypassed that rusted metal tube with proper transmission hose)

      I'm not the first owner so possible that it was replaced once.

      Agreed. Was definitely "fixed" previously, probably had the same cracked hose, too. Trimming the hose that way is fine since there's still slack for contraction and shifting when in motion, but spring clamps are a must on pressurized lines because they apply more even holding force around the circumference of the hose while not over-tightening the connection.

    @ 6:45 what is that harness just above the hose? My serpentine belt got chewed up and snapped that hose and damged that harness. Any ideas ?

      I think that’s the fog light harness

      You can do what I did but opposite end. If you don’t have room to work on it. Simply just unplug the hose completely out of the car and then do your cutting and install it back on.

    What do you think about just skipping that metal part and connecting with rubber tube?

    • @ChadHer
      @ChadHer  Před rokem +2

      If you can find one that fit than yes. I don’t have extra tube so this fix is easy n free.

    Will a lot of atf come out or only a little
    Is it better to wait for the car to cool down so a lot doesn’t spill out ?

    • @ChadHer
      @ChadHer  Před rokem +1

      I clamp my hose with locking plier so only little come out.
