I am a owner of 20 CMG Guitars and I have played them with my Gibson Les Paul and man Buck for Buck the sound I get out of my CMG is unreal, They are built with the most care and the fit and finish is spot on, They look good on stage and sound even better. I have always been a Gibson fan till I was asked to play a Ashlee and that was the game change for me, The only problem I have ever had is the sticker on the head stock for the unit number came off, I called CMG talked to Chris him self the owner and sent my guitar to them and the took care of it no charge, I yet to talk to the owner of Gibson, I play songs from the 50s 60s and 70s and have played with some of the big time Guitar players and my Ashlee knock it out of the park all the time.. Thankyou CMG..
Ordered a custom Diane a few months ago from these guys. It is in the final stages and I cannot wait to recieve this guitar. This company has some of the coolest people that I have ever dealt with. Period.
I'm an older player and have always wanted a true USA made guitar before I leave this life. Sadly, I could never afford the products from the big boys. So glad I found you! I now know what my next Christmas present to myself is going to be. I'll be buying more as long as you stay in the USA.
Good folks here, Ryan is my rep to Chris which is a picker too ! I ordered a custom and Ill wait till october. Good people !!!
Fantastic enthusiasm on the process, the love and care which goes into this, makes you really appreciate the work.
Great guitars,I went to the shop in Statesville,Ga.Chris and his wife are down to earth and great people.I really appreciate how they keep there guitars reasonable in price.
Thanks for watching! Yep we like them too!!
Last year I placed an order for one of these and got my CMG Ashlee a few months back. It’s easily one of my favorite guitars I own. I like coming back to this video to see the process it went through till it got to my hands. From being a block of wood to the ultimate black and doom metal guitar. I plan to purchase another.
Super cool! Loved the playing at the end.
Great video. I'd love to get an opportunity to play one of these amps soon!
Great stuff. It is always interesting to see how, where and in what fashion guitars and amps are made and of course when you have such quality guitars and amps it is doubly more interesting. Cheers.
I have a "Mark" that's kind of a cross between the "Mark" and the "Mark Phat Cat".....got it about two years ago..I had them put Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers in...and it has a pickguard (unlike the normal Phat Cat)..... I don't live near a dealer, so ordered it direct from them....nice guys to deal with (Chris and Lane...both are friendly and knowledgeable)....had a couple of weird issues with it (due to the switch), initially, and they made sure everything was made right and that I was happy with it. (And I really, really was)
I actually just put it down to type this out.....I would get another one without hesitation. (And just might)
I love to support smaller USA builders...especially when they actually make them affordable.
Now, if only they'd make a bass model.....Hmmm.....
I just found out about CMG and went to their website.
Their guitars look great!
I want to find out of they would do a Mark Phat Cat with a spalted finish.
If they do -then I just found the guitar I have been looking for!
They can do it I’m sure. I think they’ve done a salted one before actually.
Great video guys!
Ya know... Now that Ive seen that squared off horn on the LP style (when Chris was playing it) I'm thinking "hmmmm, that's not so bad after all". So, I may have to re-think my position on that guitar.
I think it's time to re-visit the CMG/Devil Cat site and have another look around.
Thanks
Oh I totally agree!
I see a Flying V body!?! That would be awesome if they started making a V model
Interesting stuff
Love this company. Just had to send off part of my Jimmy Amp (think it is only number 5 made which is cool) for Lane to look at as it stopped working sadly, but their customer service is great and the amp is just awesome. Great overdrive and clean tone but also takes pedals really well. Good ol' made in the USA is way better way to spend your money than the China factory stuff from Blackstar etc.
RYAN - they have Nashville style guitars and I am just now seeing this.... ok, now I have a "next" guitar in mind... but I want a "modern" that has the three pickups, stacked humbuckers, or noiseless, ok, ok, ok, now I need to start planning on how I will pay for it. I will talk to you later as this is awesome to see
thumbs up for long videos!!!!! LOL
Got wood?
Is Red Grandis now the standard wood for their Ashlee?
It is, unless you request something else. We always order Sapele on our custom builds.
