I think you just did more coverage on a Canadian cyclist than our own major media channels. Thanks for the great videos.
had not heard of katerberg before
@@carlosgaspar8447 I am a junior cyclist in the west of Canada this is Bens second year on the development side of sunwebb we were team mates for a year before he moved to the team and he was on that team for 3 years before i joined. He is a multiple time national junior champ and represented Canada at worlds and international races many times.
Love the vids and the Ribble does look ace. Look forward to the review. 👍
Great video. Looking forward to the bike review.
Interesting food for thought in there dude. That hill looked nasty! Nice vid, enjoyed!
Great to see some Calpe and col de Rates action. Btw Velosol cafe bar in Jalon have upped their coffee to something decent
It is not possible to sound more Canadian than that. Lol!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, I had no idea that other little hill was there at the foot of Col de Rates and I go there every month.
Well done mate. Great vlog!
Another great watch........
It is good to see they are testing riders at this level ...surprise visits ...you can’t escape 😝. 😎🇦🇺👍
Lawrence was saying that he has been riding at conti level though and had never been tested. Bit of a worry
Excellent video ,,really enjoyed it
20k subs soon mate!
Weather looks sweet 😻
The Ribble looks sweet 👍🏼
Nothing like pissing into a cup for breakfast lol.
Lawrence Fancy posting when the Belgium CX & the Tour de la Provence final stage was showing at the same time. ( I won't spoil you with results ) Jeffers is riding a Ribble with St.Piran this coming season ( if he races that is)
My favourite loop too. Did you go back down the steep hill or pop out further up the Rates?
I have to say I'm a little surprised when he said a few months before tests😨
Reminds me of the Oh-Dark-Thirty drug testing in the US Army. If you were to add up all the little bottles it would probably add up to 5 gallons of urine.
interesting that’s the first time you’ve been tested Lawrence, the french cyclist Geminani who ride in the tour in the 50s and 60s said that doping controls were a cancer of the sport and doping was just a means of restoring the body’s equilibrium after gruelling tour stages an interesting take on the subject maybe a bit outdated but pretty interesting times change and so do attitudes I guess.
Nice one 🤙
That steep hill wad simething else 🚲🚲🚲👍👍🇨🇦
I shouldn't write comants wen im half aslep...
8:08 ohhhhhhh
Solid son 🤘
Nice video as always, do you film with ND filters to get the shutter speed correct? Impressed with the smooth filming while riding.
Cheers buddy, I’ve had a fair bit of practise. No ND filters for me, haven’t felt like I needed them.
My son got tested at the Canary Wharf round of the Tour Series, so it does happen.
Good to hear, but perhaps still not often enough.
The Ribble is looking great.
which one is it?
@@natorpen-palmer7192 Ribble Endurance SL Disc
HOw many times did you ride around outside the cafe to get those shots! Lol
Thanks for interviewing Ben.
p.s. your strava link in the video description doesn't work for me (I found by searching your name)
At least Canada is staying on top of things.
In Australia they have been known to rock up to club races and test
If its an amateur event?
@@glennoc8585 Club races are largely amateur. As an Aussie who's been dipping their toes in the racing waters i've never seen that.
@@hugoyoung4890 I've never heard of it either. It costs money and everybody can refuse so no benefit.
Did you all run n jump the back fence🤣
In US not only are Continental teams tested a bunch but pure amateurs at local races are tested from time to time as well
If i was racing amateur id say go get lost.
@@glennoc8585 I was just thinking about what I'd do too, and I'd be tempted to tell them the same. I am not a pro, and I know what I do or don't do, so if they want to validate/accept it or not makes no difference to me.
But for riders like the young Canadian in this video, or if I was lucky enough to be in his shoes, I would do it.
@@lkb3rd yes he must offer a sample under his license rules and that's fair just like random testing at work or driving.
I'm 57 and plan to turn pro once they allow you to race while blazed on marijuana.
Fair one, respect that. Maybe one day Manfred..
And? Did they confirm if your drugs were any good?
You should have insisted on being tested, don't they know, there are boxes to be ☑
Which drugs are the best..? I'm trying to win some local races..
beer
Cocaine and heroin (speedball)
Is that Ben’s bottom bracket ringing out when he’s stood up?
Yes, that’s what happens when the mechanics go home from camp. 🤪
Is it the cervelo that was so creaky??
Yeah it certainly wasn’t my Ribble 🤪
@@bbikerlawrence jeez half the price and ice and silent ;) 🤣
Lawrence. No-one can be that bad with helmet straps. You must be doing it on purpose, right?
Yeah course hahaha. Does it grind gears
Missing the vibes 💔💔
Missing you brother!! See you soon 🔥
5:12 The secret, not so secret Orange spot ;)
A mate of mine lives in Callosa and does cycling camps. It's called Cycling Holidays in Spain. Check him out mate he might have some new routes for you ✌🏼👍🏼👊🏼
Sound out of sync?
Nope!
Anthony Homer Cycling 尤薩 Bluetooth Lag?
Perhaps brother
Ahhh it’s my Bluetooth headset. Sorry 😂 no color grade on this one ha?? Love your contents man! It’s my thing!
@@anthonyhomercycling Lol XD
All the doobies got flushed I guess ;)
Gotta love Canadians, eh
Canadians are the best 🤩
They're drug testing and he stops for COKE!!
Good content. It’s great that cyclists are regularly drugs tested. It does make you question what going on in the UK and in other sports. For example, if Liverpool FC where a provcycling team, the drug testers would be all other them and the public would be doubting the legitimacy of their results. It does make me wonder, are Liverpool the US Postal team of football?
If they drug tested US sports like American football like they test cycling, I think the league would shut down due to all of the bans.
But with that said, Lance always used to point out how he was the most tested rider of all, and it was true at the time he was. He probably holds the record for the most TDF doping samples taken due to all his time in the yellow jersey. They tested a ton back then too. I don't want to be a cynic, but I think it's worth pointing out.
Len, you’re not a cynic. Tyler Hamilton wrote in his book about seeing several footballers in the waiting room whilst waiting for his EPO treatment in Madrid. It is naive to think the rich sports like American football, basketball, football and Tennis aren’t using drugs. The less cash rich sports like Cycling, swimming and athletics seem to take the headlines because they are more rigorous, frequent and transparent in testing their of athletes. Even junior cyclists training in southern Spain or rain soaked Belgium are tested as Lawrence’s vlog points out. I wonder how many pro footballers have been tested whilst relaxing by the pool at their luxury sea view villas in Dubai?😀 opps that’s me being cynical now.
Dont think the Man Utd player actually failed a drug test. He got 3 strikes and a ban for missing drug tests, which isn’t the same thing. It was a Rio Ferdinand, if I remember correctly.
If cycling was ever to get a real Union or sanctioning body this weird type of testing wouldn't even exist. But cycling is poor comparative to other major sports, and the riders get paid hardly anything comparing also. Is it a great career? For a handful that are ok with living like gypsy, and just riding around all day for not a lot of money
