It’s possible he wrote this song during the bush administration before Train formed. It’s not unusual for bands to go back in their members catalogues for inspiration. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt because that’s just a really weird thing to lie about.

To be fair it Could of been bush sr rather than bush jr. It was released 1998 during Clinton but when was it written. But yeah your probably right.
