- Funny stuff here! Good writing and delivery. I loved the setting of him just sitting and prophesizing!

Rikki Fulton was a comic genius. Rev I M Jolly was a Scottish Hogmanay tradition for many years.
Class, pure genius. This was our Hogmanay (new years eve) viewing for years in Scotland. Wonderful comedian and comic actor. The one where he thinks he's drinking water and getting slowly p1ssed is majestic and one of his best characters, Supercop!
Definitely one of Scotland's greats. My aunt had the privilege of being one of the nurses who cared for him near the end of his life and before she retired.
Late Call was a spoof of the tradition for many many years of, usually, a Church of Scotland Minister giving a homily for 5 minutes before broadcasting stopped for the night. Whist it is very funny on its own it was all the more so in context at the time.
We looked forward to Scotch and Wry every Hogmany, a brilliant wee sketch show. That would be another rich comedy mine for you, Squirrel.
Greetings from Scotland. Ricky Fulton was a national treasure. This is a parody of a real television programme featuring dour, wee Scottish ministers who never looked happy.
Ah loved Rikki. Pretty good actor too, see his performance as a KGB officer in Gorky Park opposite Lee Marvin and William Hurt. Started on the stage in 1939 and with the Royal Navy was present at D-Day. He had a long long career in entertainment: stage, radio, TV and cinema, even sharing the stage with Frank Sinatra at one point in his career, one of Scotland's treasures. Much missed.
Finally, someone does Rikki. Hogmanay isn't the same without a bit of Scotch & Wry
The Rev David Goodchild is another of his brilliant creations.
Stanley Baxter's Parliamo Glasgow is another classic.
PS: I'm from Falkirk 😁
More Scotch and Wry please 🙏
It was the highlight of every hogmanay (and the series before the annual specials too)
Classic Scotch & Wry, 🏴
Rikki portrayed his Deadpan characters brilliantly.
We watched Scotch and Wry every Hogmanay, much better than the shortbread tin singers and dancers. And much later on was one of the staff that nursed Riki Fulton in his last days
Used to look forward to Ricky Fulton every Hoganany in the lead up to ringing in the New Year. His deadpan features and sorrowful voice delivery as compared to the name I. M. Jolly. 👏👏🐿🏴
That was exceptional. I thought I knew Rikki Fulton, but didn't recognise that character at all. So, funny and educational!
Best Wishes, to You and Your Family. ☮
For those not in UK or Ireland. Moonlighting = cash-in-hand jobs while on benefits; Dole money = Unemployment payment; Buroo (Scots for Bureau) = Unemployment office. (Dole and Buroo are interchangeable) DHSS = Department of Health and Social Security.
Oh joy!! Love the Rev!
Hilarious nice one squirrel 👍
Hi tony, brilliant, more please! 💙 from
Scotland.
I've been re watching your
Still game episode's
I doubt that anyone will believe me, but I first heard the joke about the toilet being pushed into the river when I was at school in the early 1960s. One of the teachers told it to a group of us while we were having our lunch, (it was a common occurrence for teachers to have their lunch with the older pupils). He told us the story almost word for word with the one on the video, the only difference was that he called the toilet the privy.
I've had that story tucked away in the back of my mind for over sixty years. I suppose that it's one of those jokes that keeps popping up when it's least expected.
Im Scottish and in the 70's before the TV turned all programs off a vicker would always do a talk . Billy Connoly did a joke about this, classic. I dont think it happened in England. I saw Ricky Folton i saw him in pantomine in Glasgow, great.
Laughing out load to myself.
Very nice my friend!
This is by FAR my favourite Ricky Fulton sketch: czcams.com/video/F1u2vEA_MrA/video.html
Brilliant. There'll never be another like him. A comedy genius 😂
Always a highlight of Hogmany. That and a satirical football show called Only an Excuse. We then got bored with 2 hours of Twee "bring in the Bells" live show, fine if you like accordian music. After the Bells we would "First Foot" our cousins. Another lost Scottish tradtion of being the first foot over the threshold of the year.
Never heard of her...
