I ended up switching to a German style grip because the French style ended up hurting too much during practice. Now, I am trying to switch back to French style to be familiar with both. Your channel is also what got me into playing the cello by the way, so thank you and keep making wonderful videos.

I suffer from a bit of hiperlax with all fingers from both hands, plus my hands sweat a lot, so I hold the bow with all of the fingers form the right hand. I type on the computer all day long so basically after an hour or two of practice, my fingers dont hurt, just articulations from the arms
Does the hold depends on your hand shape ? I've playing for almost a year and I cannot find the right position.

My biggest problem over a year into playing cello is just this. I like to play fairly loud coming from electric guitar, so most of the days i can't play most of the pieces till the end because of index/thumb muscle pain. I've been wondering is this just a hand fitness thing or a technique error? No pain when playing softer pieces though.
Do you have any tips for left hand soreness.....? I'm having trouble with my 2nd finger especially with forward extensions - like for 2 octave D major scale.....?
