Thanks for the great lesson... I am confused on the notation for the intro. I know it starts on an upstroke on the "&" after the 4th beat.
"u/d d/u/u/d" . Is the first downstroke "d" held for one whole beat(1&)? And then it is 4 eighth note strums for "d/u/u/d" (2&3&)?

Thanks for the vid. Nice break down on the intro. That's feels and sounds right to me. Watched another video with a slightly different strum pattern for the intro that just didn't seem right. And I really like your connector strum pattern.
The chord progression on the outro sounds wrong to me when singing along (I'm really a singer trying to accompany myself). After the OOs (C - G twice) I think it is G - Fadd2 - C twice, not C - G - Fadd2. Either way this was a big help for me. Thanks again.

Just started playing a month ago. My dad gave me something he printed from a “guitar tabs” website dated Dec 2001 for this song. It made ZERO sense and was downright awful. Your video makes PERFECT sense and gives me a goal. I might actually be able to play a real song and have it sound reasonably good if I keep it up. Thank you. Great content.

When you were teaching the verse between 10:00 and 11:00 it seemed like you switched the G chord finger positions up. I may be wrong but if so would you mind explaining?
Hi, sure - I often use different voicings for the same chord. You can play a G chord like this 320033 or like 320003 - both are G chords. And I switched the fingering so when playing the G voicing 320003 I used my pinky on the high e string. Sometimes students find that fingering easier when going to or coming from the C chord. So I mix it up and offer the option to the student on what works best for them. Try them all as they are all very useful and add them to your playing arsenal - good question!
