Sadly the US Mint with unlimited resources has no security features until 2021 and apparently a missing reed is what they came up with. it is sad that here in the US a missing reed is what they came up with.

I thought the first silver kangas were 2016?
You also missed that on the silver kangaroos, the spikey lines will touch the edge by the finest of margins, many of the counterfeits fail at this detail and their spikes are uneven and miss touching the edges consistently.
According to wikipedia, silver kangaroos started in 2015 with a lower mintage of 300,000, and then went into mass production as bullion in 2016 with 11 million coins, and not having a mintage cap every year since.

Some additional info. The micro-engraving on the Perth Mint coins shift around from year to year and change letters from coin to coin, e.g. from roos to kooks. ASEs have a unique and recognisable ping pitch and length of resonance (not really a feature but something that helps), and the type 2 ASEs have a missing reed. The 2021 Brits have micro-engraved Latin text.

The Britannia is beautiful. To bad they cant get their milk spot issue solved and other quality issues. All the coins will be worth spot and there is no point to buy any higher premium pieces from British Royal Mint till they solve these problems..Its like running 99 yard with the football and dropping it on the 1 yard line.

The U in United on the American eagle has a little Tick on it...previous years I think pre 2004 or 14 did not but the mint added the tick on the U because at a lower level minting scale it is near impossible to put that tick on the U
So fake Eagles are easly seen to be fake if they do not have the tick. It's really the most genius of them all
    👍👍👍👍

I believe the Britannia coin has 4 or 5 security features, the flag and Miro etching around the middle of the coin, did you know sir Isaac Newton was the first person to put writing on the edge of a coin

The American Silver Eagle has a missing ridge mark that is rotated around the edge of the coin each year. I'm sure someone below may have already commented.

The lettering on the right side is SARB wich stands for the South African Reserve bank

  • @HifiCentret
    @HifiCentret Před 2 lety

The Krugerrand, the 2nd small text. The first letter is not an O. It's either the Rand Refinery logo or a copyright symbol. So "©SARB21" essentially (regardless or whether it's the logo or symbol) it means. Copyright South African Reserve Bank 2021. The last two numbers naturally changes every year as does the location.
The KRUGERRAND micro text is in the same place every year but it may have gotten smaller at some point. I have a 2018 and 2021 both in gold and the text on the 21 is significantly smaller than the 2018.

Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed that. I knew the fakes of the kangaroos had misaligned the points but didn’t know about the micro cast “A”.
Now to buy a microscope. 👍🏻

For the Security Features, does that mean people can’t Counterfeit them? Or does that give you an idea if they are real?

It makes it a lot harder to counterfeit, and It is extra indicators to allow stackers to make sure they aren't buying garbage without needing an xrf machine

Help me understand: why would a nation independent of the Brits put royals on their money? I mean especially Australia. The Brits hated and exiled all of you as prisoners.
I just don’t get it. I love Perth Mint reverses but the obverse is just something I would never want.
