They mentioned she was on drugs when Ashley was young and, on a separate occasion, that she has been with the same "deadbeat boyfriend" since Ashley was young as well. It's not unreasonable to deduce they were probably on drugs together and, being he's still the same deadbeat probably still are. The likelihood of the mom getting off drugs, him not and them still lasting so long is very slim. Then she asked for that random $500 in the middle of the night ON TOP of the ridiculous allowance she got. It's all fishy.
