    You have to explain how to tune the damping unit, so that you can set the fork rebound. Otherwise the whole upgrade is useless.

      You can only set the front ones for pre-load. The rear ones you can set for rebound and damping.

    After you get used to that new front suspension you might want to take it a little further and drill out your damper rods and make adjustments to the emulators😊 I made a video on this but only if you do the work yourself $$ the kit had changed slightly from when I bought it 😁

  • @rover100bunson
    @rover100bunson Před rokem +1

    if you buy the emulator kit it contains instructions for drilling the damper rod, i think yss dont say this with thr kit zo not to put people off, if you dont drill the damper rod damping will be restricted by the 2 tiny holes in the damper rod and not by the emulator, also if you are puting more volume of parts inside the fork then you need to make some allowance for the oil level/air gap, the amount of compressible air above the oil is important also for the suspension which is why when i first fitted the norman hyde springs which are much longer than standard and poured in the recommended oil amount the suspension was much worse, now ive just poured in enough oil so that it sits just above the emulator, cheers good luck,rich

    • @thing1201
      @thing1201 Před měsícem

      Why do people keep perpetuating this myth? YSS don't include this instruction because it is not necessary: the emulator is designed to work with the existing damper rod. Why would they miss out an instruction that makes everything work? Why give you comprehensive, but incomplete, instructions? The answer is, they don't. Just follow their instructions - they would not sell you a kit to upgrade your suspension which doesn't work unless you make up some steps yourself. It isn't good for their reputation or sales.

    How much gap you reckon one needs between the handlebar and the top end of the forks.
    I have the same handlebar riser, but with a flat drag bar.

    • @SrinivasGanesh
      @SrinivasGanesh  Před rokem +1

      Well the gap is sufficient with OEM handlebars, and even with my handlebars, the gap is sufficient, it should not be touching the top end for sure because how else will you adjust for preload otherwise?
      My rough guess, about 15mm? Or according to ease of access. I'll measure it tomorrow and reply it here.

    A few things I would like to point out:
    1. The YSS kit is very difficult to find at around 28k now. Most listings are in the upper 40s now. Way2Speed might be a more affordable option. Not sure why Zedling didn't get into this.
    2. 15W for one brand of fork oil is not the same as 15W for another brand as there is no standardization like you find in engine oils.
    3. For the same thickness of the spring wire, wider gaps in the coils will make the spring stiffer which is what you see in the YSS springs. However, the alloy and thickness is also most likely also different.

    • @SrinivasGanesh
      @SrinivasGanesh  Před rokem +1

      I know! I got these in March 2022. Who knew price will increase so much!
      1. Yes way2speed is an affordable option too, but it only came now, it was not there in 2022 I believe.
      2. Yes that is also true. Since this is a suspension fluid, that 15 W oil will be different in different brands and there is indeed no standardisation.
      3. Yes to this too. Since Ohlins are different than YSS, the later being more affordable to me at that point in time. :)

      Thank you so much for watching that video.
      Well, generally speaking wobbling is primarily due to -
      1. Tyre pressure,
      2. Bad tyres
      3. Cone Set gond bad
      4. Front suspension fluid levels different in the forks.
      if you are experiencing problem number 4, then most definitely this can be a solution. As you will change the previous suspension and have the newer one put in, as a result the current oil levels will be balanced and wobbling will be gone.

The bike is showing me jerks after upshifting and downshifting, like something is dragging when I accelerate and decelerate. What do I have to do to this bike? You will then have four 8mm holes in each damper rod.
