which is it lmao
LOOK AT THIS COMMENT SECTION PEOPLE. THE LIKES DONT MAKE ANY SENSE AND ITS 99% KENDRICK. THIS IS NOT HUMAN
I think yall (not you guys specifically, seemingly alot of the internet) have double standards when it comes to J Cole and its crazy
When Pusha T made his beef w drake way more personal and ugly than it had been up until that point (literally all drake did was mention a name), Drake decided to bow out and he explained in that one 2019 interview (idk what it's called) that the reason he didn't keep going and release another diss he had supposedly wrote was bc he didn't want to be remembered for engaging w a beef like that.
think its crazy that I didnt see a single CZcams channel, twitter account, reddit thread having the charitable energy w drake then that everyone seems to all of a sudden have for J cole now. No one was calling drake mature or giving him respect for the decision like everyone is sucking off j cole Rn. It's actually crazy
And now drake is once again roped into a beef that he probably doesn't wanna participate in, but in spite of this he actually gives it a shot. Now as a far bigger fan of kendrick I'm not afraid to admit I do not think the performances were close and similar to you guys I think kendrick won in almost every category. But at least Drake tried. And I guarantee if Drake never hopped into this beef no one would give him the j cole treatment now either.
I feel bad for drake which feels crazy bc iv never thought he was that good of a person or artist, so I don't really care about him. But watching yall glaze artists like cole for the exact same behaviour you'd probably clown drake for is just cruel
Yall gotta chill out on poor drake and get j Cole's dick out of your mouth. And that yall is dedicated to the entire hh community saying this doooooooodooooooooo 😂

They were never meatriding in the first place. The were just not meatriding kendrick
Bro when people have different opinions:
Cap
ik this a joke but they were never meatriding, they like kdot more than drake by tons even if Drake is an artist in Toronto.
Let's be honest Family Matters was the red button...and it malfunctioned
For real and he even made a music video.
It was an amazing diss but Kendrick finessed him by taking the steam out of it. Kendrick just showed how a masterful narrative control can dismantle anything.
I think the music video really proves how much Drake was relying on Family Matters. Think of how much time and money it takes to shoot all that - buying the props, getting the camera crew out, having the editors put it together... And that all seems to have been pre-planned too considering the transition at the end of Push-Ups. I think he really thought that would be the killshot. The fact it wasn't, and the fact the following song - The Heart Part 6 - was so lacklustre, only fuels that point more
No, it worked. KDot told him he knew about it and not to push it.
But he didn't respond to anything drake said
It cannot be overstated how unprecedented it is that Kendrick Lamar is out here dropping 4 diss tracks in the span of a week is. A moment in hip-hop to be remembered.

Plot Twist: Drake’s plan all along was to pull Kendrick back into the spotlight, quietly retire, and still leave on the high note of creating arguably the biggest moment in Hip-Hop so far 👀
The Heart Part 6 is definitely the worst diss track of this whole beef.
It's hilarious how Drake took a lil victory lap in the outro of the song like he did something by saying he's too famous to be a pedo. 😂
Sonically the heart part 6 is awesome. Shame it falls apart kinda as a diss track

I believe Kendrick won Friday or Saturday but I think Drake really dug himself a grave when he staid that he’s too famous for that “stuff” like he basically just distanced himself from the audience and it was a horrible move. Also basically making fun of childhood trauma? Like bro. He said Kendrick did no investigation but Drake himself didn’t even investigate the song he was rapping about😭😭😭 Another horrible move was the “free the sl*v*s” bar. Like bro, this is a perfect example of why we don’t accept him in the culture. As a black man, that bar was just really weird and he kinda lost the hiphop community with that one. I don’t even think Kendrick has to respond. Drake has been stepping on rakes all weekend.
One good thing from this beef is that I think lyrical rap is becoming more popular again🔥🔥

They are going about it in completely different ways and Kendrick has washed Drake every way. The sad thing about all of this is that this is probably the last major rap battle we’ll see for a long time. Two titans at the top of their games engaging each other. The new generation of rappers don’t care to be lyrical in their music and the new generation of listeners simply don’t care for lyricism.
damn so ur sayings it an end of en era with these two gone. rip :(
it's not about because the new rappers or listeners dont care about lyricism -- its because there is no point for them to battle. there is no need to prove themselves in this way because music is consumed differently now. you can be a star regionally, through tiktok, through uploading your own music, etc. the way the rappers that came up in the late-2000s, early-2010s is what caused this rap battle to happen. because they've basically cleared the road already -- who in Kendrick's Control verse are still relevant in a mainstream top rapper conversation? only him, Drake and Cole. Kendrick cleared the artistic, lyrical side. Drake cleared the popularity and money lane. and Cole was supposed to be the most technical when it comes to rapping. so the only thing left to do was to challenge those from the other lane and finally prove who's on top. that pressure does not exist for newer artists at all

Kendrick never said that he didn't gather information. He said he's not going out of his way to collect dirt, because people are giving it to him freely. He doesn't have to pay people and ask around, the information is being sent to him.
If Kendrick feels like he’s gotta slay this demon . I think I want one more song, him addressing it all with a few receipts. Tell Drake you deserved this(in his opinion) and flip him the bird while he rides off to an album release after doing what he thinks needed to be done for the culture
J. Cole playing checkers, Kendrick playing chess, and Drake playing Minecraft cause he like playing with minors
J. Cole touches your heart, Kendrick touches your soul, Drake touches your kids
Tbh this whole thing ended up just being cringe on both sides. Too many discrediting allegations with little to no proof. Kendrick won the battle, but no one won the war.

I mean there proof that drake is questionable around minors and Kendrick has a much better idea of what happens in the music industry. If it comes out kdot was just making it up it would really damage his reputation which I don’t think he would want. @@Zambobazle you misread what I meant. Almost all of kendricks hardest hitting allegations except the kid can be backed up with proof where Drake looks like hes grasping at straws trying to not lose this.
Is just that not even him seems to believe that. I was expecting a big "GOTCHA BITCH" but it doesn't looks like it was planned
I've been watching your videos for 3 weeks now. Today I finally subscribed, I appreciate your well-informed balanced/unbiased perspectives. Keep up the great work
I think the editing and working through your thoughts on all the tracks was a good idea. You guys did incredibly well at covering it all and dissecting it. I love the at you took a hard stance. A huge difference from the live that people were heated over. Y’all are doing great
If Drake actually trapped kendrick with wrong info like he said then it wouldn't took a day for him to respond he would have a song read already but he wrotes the heart part 6 after one day
I feel like Kendrick heard family matters before it dropped. You had Kendrick flip drakes D line around on him. The title and theme of the song. Everything was hinted on euphoria. Kendrick predicts a lot of these angles and the final bar of the final verse is eerily similar to the ultimate outcome
I’m just glad we getting quality music
I've been in the midst of an identity crisis during this war. I'm a French-Canadian raised in Southern California. Like anybody else, I grew up listening to both of these guys. But with my upbringing, having half of my family back home in Canada and half of my family down here in Long Beach, both Drake and Kendrick are true "hometown heroes" to me.
With that being said, I'm in SoCal right now. I'm hella tapped in to that side of me at the moment. Just driving around town, riding my bike, walking, whatever, the energy is ELECTRIC. "Not Like Us" is being bumped by damn near every speaker I come in contact with. Dot has always been a great representative for the West Coast, but this song, it's just doing something different. It's really, REALLY, embracing the sound of SoCal, unapologetically. That, "Mustard On Da Beat Hoe", it's hitting hard right now boys!
Apologies for the long comment. I'm a nerd, I know.
love yall thanks for all the content
Thanks Josh!
champagne moments was so bad that nobody cared to cover it😭
Yo I don’t have time to watch this vid but I want to say yall are working overtime right now props to you
Thanks guys was glad to follow along with you guys!
I think if it’s ever revealed Drake definitely doesn’t have a daughter, Meet the Grahams will only look slightly worse in hindsight. The song isn’t ABOUT Drake’s daughter; only 1/4 of it is, and even that verse is more about Drake. The 1st, 2nd and 4th verses aren’t about her at all and they’re just as potent.
Drake also said he fed Kendrick the info, which I don’t believe, but that also gives Kendrick another out. He can just say the mole gave him bad info.
you guys are my favorite podcast i love yall❤
🙏
If I was Drake I would admit to having ghostwriters and say they’re the ones who made mistakes 😂
Been loving these breakdowns, love the work lads. I wonder if it’s just a stalemate from now where they can just keep making disses or if this is it
the biggest misconception about this beef was that someone’s career was gone be in shambles or over. neither of these guys career is done this beef is so high level it’s gonna affect only the top two spots. this was merely a battle for the throne but it didn’t really affect most of the game
Well more attention has been brought to the fact that Drake is a creep around the young ones so if the claims have any validity it could be a bad time for Drake
Ranking of every song:
8. The Heart Part 6
7. Taylor Made Freestyle
6. Push Ups
5. Not Like US
4. Family Matters
3. Euphoria
2. 6:16 in LA
1. Meet the Grahms
6:16 over Euphoria, Family Matters, Not Like Us & Push Ups? Like why tho lol I'm curious what's your reasoning for this.
Not like us, euphoria, and meet the grahams puppy guard the top 3 spots
@butterschunkmcdonalds5333 I think it was super underrated and I think it had some of the best writing on any of the diss tracks. Especially what he was saying about ovo
6:16 in LA is def underrated. Its not the best of kendricks disses, but it is the best as a song. In my opinion
they don't talk about the drake going to atlanta and "you not a colleague you fucking colonizer!" line?! i mean fuck that goes hard
I hope the beef is not over…feels unfinished
Exactly I feel like it’s a unfinished business
Kendrick needs to let this drake song just marinate cause the longer it’s out unreplied the worst it feels for drake
In any battle against any other rapper “Family Matters” is a knockout it’s a strong diss record with quotables “Dave Freeees” and “the uh uhhhh” even the “Drop drop drop” is a catchy memorable chorus… Drake sounded very focused and confident
💥💥🥊
Kendrick ain't any other rapper though. GG
And it ends up completely backfiring because Kendrick absolutely flipped everything.
@@BanchoGato we won’t know until there is evidence of anything either of them have said.
“idk if u guys picked up on this, i did”
*reads a genius annotation*
This is easily the best breakdown I’ve seen thus far.
For anybody confused or might possibly want to know more on why Kendrick was moving the way he did and how he possibly feels. Check out The Bigger Picture with DJhed, friend of Kendrick, and listen to everything. I found it really insightful. I assume that going forward now, Kendrick will now directly press Drake if he ever says anything, now that the line has been crossed. Whether its Social media or a new song.
great work guys, u deserve a vacation after all of this😂
thank yall for putting in the work to give us so much content yall rlly like that
Appreciate you!
Kendrick isn’t asking “did Cole foul?” He’s saying “[you] did Cole foul”
Meet the Grahams was definitely the Killer Verse in the Battle. I look at the daughter aspect of Kendrick's Verse like a What If episode bonus content. Like "You don't have a daughter but if you did, this is what I would say to her. Now think about if Drizzy ever has a daughter actually. She has to listen to this verse. Not Like Us was the nail in the coffin.
I did’nt hear the nuke from Drakes side. I think Push Ups and Family Matters are good songs, but Kendricks records are so supperior in terms of rapping skills and so so so disrespectful.
thanks for the objective analysis
Euphoria>Push Ups
6:16 In La>Taylor Made Freestyle
Meet The Grahams>Family Matters
Not Like Us>The Heart Part 6
Kendrick 4-0 Drake
Assuming no more tracks come out, Kendrick definitely won for me. I think drake up until The Heart Part 6 did well, Push Ups and Family Matters are very solid tracks, sadly The Heart Part 6 unraveled a lot of the legs drake had to stand on, with multiple contradictions and doing little to make a good defense for himself. Right not, I don’t think Drake is a Pedo, and unless more evidence comes out, I’ll stand by that. That’s a serious Claim. The 1 clip of 20 year old drake with a 17 year old is legally and morally grey, so to me it’s not enough to call any person a pedo. He was young, people learn and change. However, Drake didn’t do much to help his case, only saying “I’m too famous to do that shit”, which is an awful defense. Kendrick responded way better to drake’s claims, or spun them back at drake in some way. All drake has at this point is the comments about Kendrick attitude when it comes to drake’s race, which is a fair discussion to have. Otherwise, Kendrick’s track’s definitely cut deeper. Euphoria definitely one upped Push Ups, bringing outs of energy, with a strong beat as well. Meet the Grahams was a complete analysis of Drake’s character, and it was nasty. Not only did Not Like Us reinforced all of the points made on meet the Grahams, the beat bangs and Kendrick writes some of the funniest bars of his career. Overall, Kendrick has thrown way more accusations, and drake has done little to prove them wrong. On top of that, there’s at least some hints that show what Kendrick is saying could be true, though like I said, I personally need more proof to take it as pure facts. Drake has shown nothing to prove the Dave free or wife beating as true, so it’s hard to take seriously. Kendrick out rapped drake, brought more energy and desire than drake, and what was very clear from push ups, Kendrick has more hated than drake. Drake kept it very much a rap beef, with plenty of playful bars, like the prince and Michael rebuttals, and the size 7 shoes. Clearly, he didn’t resize Kendrick straight up hates him, and thinks he’s a complete waste of space. Drake was not equipped, and it showed. And unless somehow every single thing Kendrick said ends up being false, and he’s just a big hater, I undoubtedly think Kendrick took the dub.
Drake had a 6.5/10 performance. Not bad. Kendrick thought, 9.5/10. Near flawless so far. Only needs some more evidence and he’ll easily get a 10. It’s been messy, but at least I can say I was here, staying up late, checking out these diss tracks in real time. I’m a part of history, and I don’t know if we’ll ever see something if this size ever again. At least in my life time. I’m glad I got to experience this event, and see everyone collectively come together to discuss, even if it was extremely toxic and many people made an Ass of themselves. It was still fun.
I wanna thank anyone who read this. Thank you to the NFR boys for covering the whole thing, and giving us your honest opinion and breaking everything down for us. Thank you to Kendrick and Drake for giving everyone a chance to witness a historic moment. Much Love ❤️
(Also, I’m glad to see everyone apologizing to Cole. Dude made one of the best decisions in history. Glad he got out of there before it got messy)
