@@LNH152 that’s a very valid question and my answer is I do try to make time to pamper myself but spending an absurd amount of time of my nails isn’t my priority. I can spend hours on skincare or even my hair but wouldn’t put a fraction amount of time on my nails, I just find the process tedious (the application and the removal)and a waste of time and money especially for something so minor I guess. I hope that answers your question.

I also do my nails by myself. I recently tried gel nails and developed an allergy. I didn't know anything about gel allergies so I didn't take the nails off until it got really bad. I got rashes and my nails started to seperate from my nail beds. Now I'm scared of even doing my nails again.
But I really like how stress free gel nails are.

They will eventually renew as you cut them haha it takes a couple of weeks to completely go. It’s worth for big occasions like wedding, prom, etc

This actually ruined my nails since i never gave a break to my nails and got them done 3 times in a row. But after like two months of getting them removed my nails are back to normal!

It doesn’t work like that. It has to be constant buffing. As long ad you have a good aftercare routine after doing or removing nails it will be fine but it doesn’t take one set for your nails to break unless you have serious iron deficiency. That would have to be a trip to the GP

after taking the gel off and putting on cuticle oil (you should rub the cuticle oil into the nails and edges of the nails as well), put a protective layer or two of base coat and top coat (nail polish not gel) as long as you dont peel it off it wont damage your nails.
I feel like acrylic nails destroy the original nails a bit cause of all that filling buffing required

These are gel extensions, but gel extensions and acrylics don’t damage the nail if you know what you are doing. A lot of people tend to get their nails done at a professional nail tech, but when it’s past 3 weeks some people decide to remove their acrylic or yank them off, not properly removing them. If you don’t properly remove them they will get weaker.

My mom took off her acrylic nails for her new job and how she did it was crazy so basically she got her nail clippers and this one side you can file your nails with and it also has a sharp side she used to she dug under the acrylic nail and then pulled it off after it didn’t hurt her because she didn’t pull it off that hard

U can use a nail filer but it's harder
If its just gel polish on your natural nail, soak cotton pad with 100% acetone, put it on your nail and wrap with aluminum foil. Let it sit for 30 minutes. If there are thick chunks that wont come off easy, just keep soaking. This will minimize damage.
Hydrate your nail with lots of oils right after.
TIP: skip that nasty nail dehydrator and use VitaGel as base coat.
I wanted to do my nails but I'm also trying to let them grow long and healthy and that's what I did. My nails had no damage and I was able to enjoy a cute, long lasting mani!
@@astridrosa9477 please don’t recommend things you know nothing about. First of all 30 mins is too long to leave acetone on. You’ll end up drying your skin terribly or getting an allergy/chemical burn. 10-15 mins is the recommended time for a soak off. Secondly gel polish can’t be soaked off like regular polish. Gel top coat is an extremely strong material so you need to file that layer off before applying acetone. Please change your technique.

@@astridrosa9477 She was wrong tho, there are 2 types of gel: first is usually called hard gel-thats the one you cant soak off with acetone, it has to be filed, and the second one is usually called soft gel or "soak off gel", as the name sugest-it is a chore, but it can be removed with acetone and it usually says so on the bottle. You absolutely CAN soak off gel nails, you just have to buy the right formula. Been doing it for 2 years at home, they last until i decide to take them off (curtesy of good prep and good quality gel). I file down the majority of the gel with the nail drill to save time, then go on and soak them, but if i wanted to waste time, i could absolutely soak from the start and it would melt off. The audacity and preaching is over the top in this comment section, i swear. 😅
