A car in the canal! Probably pushed the wrong pedal A day of stunning scenery, beautiful countryside and the finest panaramic views imaginable.
Very busy going down the Marple Flight of 16 locks. Great teamwork! Then across the Goyt River Aquaduct. Fantastic! Moored up in Hyde for a very well deserved rest and a few bevvies.

Another stunning Vlog used to moor out boat at the top of Droysden Manchester and they cut my ropes and that was a secure mooring, so Load up the cannons, rev up the engine and make a dash for south Manchester we did that stretch in a day the last time we went through, Man the cannons and repel boarders!

Enjoy your Mum, I still have mine and she's 92 and I feel so privileged. Family is everything. Thanks again for taking me on your cruising as I will never get to England and enjoy riding the cut myself. I have a feeling that if I had a chance to have a narrowboat I would be staying on the Peak Forest Canal. Take care =-)

I live in Norway now, and I lived in Marple, I was an apprentice in Bredbury and I cycled to work every day along the canal, when your Mum mentioned the wild garlic, it took me back. Stay healthy and take care.

My mother would have loved canal life. Dad retired the year I graduated from College. We moved to Alaska me sister was already here. Bought land in a forest. Built a 20’ by 20’ log cabin. Had a wood cook stove for the first few years . Added a kitchen with a water tank in under it with extra space there as a climb down into refrigeration room. Getting water delivered today. About 1400 gallons at a time. One more video and then I’ll have to wait for new ones. Thank you for your fun videos.

Hope you paid " The Fox Inn' a visit at Brook Bottom In Strines. It's about 1 mile from the canal , well worth the visit.

Another great vlog , Heidi. Wish I'd knowed you were passing thru' my parish - Droylsden - I'da stopped by to say 'Hi'. Unfortunately, the area is definitely one to scoot on by if you can . Scrotesville . Pity , as it isn't all that unlovely in parts. Some fairly interesting post-industrial landscape . Anyhoo , glad you liked the Peak , we've done a couple of disabled access narrowboat trips as far as Marple,and one planned for June. We did 2 last year, one in mid September in 28 degree heat, one a week later, 9 degrees and rain. Still loved it , though. Hpe you get thru' Melchester in one piece , it was much less violent when I grew up around here , but still not genteel by a long way. Take care , now !

@@TheNarrowboatPirate Nah , the wooden boats are belonging to a different outfit. They have saved a few , with more to do . Ain't easy , but I'm glad they're doing it . The charity boat we go on is based right next to the wooden boats, and the boat is often moored there. I would have liked to volunteer as crew, but the commitments I have to my missus mean I'm not really available with any relibility . At the very least , 3 days a week are tied up at the dialysis clinic, plus sundry other escapades as dictated by her ongoing illness. We woulda had a boat of our own by now, if things hadn't gone south in a major way. We did have a sea- boat in the Isle of Man , we both have level 2 powerboat tickets, and I still have my ship's radio licence , for what it's worth., but that had to go when she started to be ill . Prior to going over there , it was kept at Portland basin marina . Worse things can/have happened , hey-ho . Do't know if you've done it before or not , but the Portland basin museum is worth a look , too.
They have a recreation of a 'steam days' chippy counter , as I remember them from my early years. On the menu , is a dish I rather fancy.......'slut' !!!!

I play a video game, yes I’m a 55 yr old woman, on occasion that is farming they have amazing English fields and now I see that the game is beautifully authentic! Also your roads really are very narrow. 😮😂❤
