    Is this why they don’t show him on any of the ink master shows they use his voice but don’t ever show him anymore I’m sure there is a reason everyone else knows but I just realized this watching all the re runs of ink master when he was one of 3 then they used his critiques but never showed his face after so long very weird

    If u can create a picture of something like an apple with anything else besides an apple.. it's art, if u apply that something to make the the illusion that there is an apple there.. your an artist, even singing a song is art, that's why their called artists.. BUT if a tattoo gun is involved nope! How could ppl say this is good advise?
    If u have a passion to do something don't give up, keep trying

      If someone traces a picture and tattoos it on someone is he an artist ?

    • @JackDaniels-gt3hi
      @JackDaniels-gt3hi Před 2 lety

      Yes, you need to use the fundamentals of art to apply the tattoo to skin , your doing lines and shading etc..

    • @stonybrain
      @stonybrain Před 2 lety

      @@JackDaniels-gt3hi even a flat image ? No shading ect … just line work technique.

    What a smart fucking man!! I’ve always had trouble calling my tattooer an “tattoo artist”! Are they artist first.....definitely and it takes an artistic eye, but like Oliver said it’s like learning a trade completely new tools and methods which make you a tatooer. Plus I just love the nostalgia of it. Old cats who would sit down and knock out a piece that was it own form of art called tattoo. No offense if this is you style but I hate photo realism sleeves. I think it loses the essence of a tattoo. It turns a needle into a paint brush. And their are plenty of amazing people doing that style and I can appreciate that but for me it falls into another genre almost. It doesn’t have that collection theme like tattoo culture has as a staple of the culture. Usually just rich frat boys and jocks who go and get entire sleeves over the course of a few sessions. Tattoos should be rebellious with a bit of danger and anti social feel to it. I can remember even only 20 years ago around 2,000 they still had that rebel feel before everyone and their moms and grandmoms started getting them for stuff like a dragon fly to comemerate bearing breast cancer. Which is awesome but not really appropriate for a tattoo unless you have been a collector for some time. I remember a quote that Mike Ness made on the Live From The Roxy album. He said “you know back in the day you couldn’t just walk into a mall get your doc marten boots and get your little pussy pierced” which says it all. These are just my opinions but I believe that they hold some truths and Oliver Peck is just a rad dude who gets it and pays image to the OG’s who paved the way!! He’s a dying breed it would see but I’m starting to see some cats and kittens that are up and coming and are sincere about it and not just doing it as parody or to be ironic which is the most important part of any form of Americana! True tattooers and musicians also. But I digress and have a powerful Sunday!!

    Why doesn't he just accept that he has a lisp and stop trying to hide it with that goofy stick in his mouth 24.7 He says its just an addiction... I think most know that is just a cover up just accept the lisp stick or no stick you still speak with the lisp.

    drawing such a huge gap between tattooing and being an artist is the prime reason as to why so many people who work in tattoo shops are jaded towards the industry. i respect oliver peck for what he does and has done, but his words on tattooing not being an art is a crock of shit.

    • @zabong6519

      I find what he says makes sense. When you paint a wall in your house, is that art? The act of painting is just a middle. Wenn you paint a landscape on the same wall, then you creat and make art. So likewise by tattoing.
