दोनों में कोई ख़ास अन्तर नही है. तेजस सिंगल इंजन और राफेल में डबल इंजन है तो राफेल, तेजस से ज्यादा ताकतबर हो सकता है.
भारत ने भले ही 1980 में तेजस की शुरुआत हुई हो परन्तु असली शुरुआत 2014 क़े बाद ही हुई है जबकि राफेल की दसोल्ड कम्पनी बहुत पुराने से फायटर प्लेन बना रही है. आप सभी समझ सकते हैँ कि पिछले 8 बर्षो में तेजस में इतना बदलाब हो सकता है तो आने बाले समय में तेजस केसा होगा अंदाजा लगा सकते हैँ.

Rafale is proven aircraft in battle field but Tejas yet to prove , so might be slightly disadvantage.Yet both are the best
Any reason for not considering twin engine's for higher thrust to weight ratio (with after बर्नर) ,,? One engine can always be optionally cut-off to save power, at high altitudes; to both save fuel and increase the range (at 57/58,000 ft) while using both to increase rate of climb ,,, The unit's radar CS are will though increase by using 2-engines, but the advantage of higher speed & both rate of acceleration will be an advantage to our pilots, when necessary... during combat /emergency

Both the aircraft are of different categories and every good airforce need both of them. One of them is a single engine, highly agile and manueverarable fighter aircraft needed in bulk for high speed patrolling and short range air to air combat near the borders and the other which is double engine is needed for air to ground strikes and beyond visual range air to air combat because it can carry more weapon payload and have slightly better radar range and can also be used to support Tejas Mk2 from behind. Tejas Mk2 will be better for Short range air to air combat due to its smaller size and high manueverarability and also better suited for near border patrolling because they can be manufactured in bulk due to their lower cost of production as well as low cost of maintenance and operation. The bulk number of such fighters are needed to completely shield our borderline without leaving even small gaps in any area.

Future warfare is fought with BVR missiles and AI technologies. Close combat may be rarely encountered. So aircrafts with efficient engines with good radar and long range bvr missiles with low radar cross section and wingman are the necessity.. tejas may not be as good as a rafale in close combat but its proven to be a reliable platform to carry weapon systems. It has low radar cross section, weapon integration from different countries etc. And stealth drones are also being developed. This is good for india.

Combat range of Tejas mk2 is 1500 km not 1000 km so Tejas mk2 is better than Rafael for India bcoz it is single engine so it's per hour flying & maintenance is cheaper than Rafael

There can be no comparison between these two machines. Keeping in mind the weight categories and engines our Tejas mk2 is best bat.
It is still in development stage and the features especially electronics & Radar will go on improving in next two years and than we will compare it and I can bat it will be a good match and in some cases better than Rafael
