That's simply because had there been no 1971 war, Pakistan would have chance to attack India from both west and East. And considering modern world geopolitics, East Pakistan would have been under China's control, further threatening our country's peace. So, even if it is not in our best interests, we had to interfere for our own sake only in 1971. I know people of Bangladesh will never ever thank India for their independence but what to do, it was for our own strategic interests only.

I am from West Bengal and I already know the answer that Bangladeshi has deep seeded hatred toward India and Indians. I really feel bad for our martyred soldiers who laid down their lives for nothing in 1971. Diplomatically India and Bangladesh share a good relationship because the leaders of both countries do not share animosity but for the people of Bangladesh, it is a whole different story. North Indian think Bangladesh is our best ally but little did they've any idea about what a normal Bangladeshi do think and love talking about (splitting India to form Greater Bangladesh). Since I am Bengali and I understand Bangla I know what they think and what they want. Don't be naive my North & South Indian friends. This video is best example to understand about their modus operandi. We request our Government to futher fortified the Eastern side of our borders properly.

Your martyrs didn’t die for nothing, they died to weaken India's archenemy Pakistan. Bangladesh's independence was not a moral case for India, it was as political as it gets.
But yes, there is a lot of hatred in common people for two major reasons:
(1) being from a smaller and weaker country that is heavily influenced by its larger neighbour, people feel insecure about their autonomy. They see India as a big bully who dictates the terms for Bangladesh.
(2) religious tensions. Both Hindus and Muslims of this subcontinent can be quite vocal, even violent about their faith. After all, thats how Pakistan-India split. While Indians looks at instances like Comilla violence surrounding Quran in a Durga Puja, Bangladeshis looks at the Babri Masjid crisis.
Both looks at Kashmir, Hindus sees Hindu pandits being expelled, Muslims sees Muslim families being exploited. Both sides are busy at looking at each other's shortcomings and retaliating against that.... And in that sense, specially after the BJP government, Bangladeshis hates India as a country that hurts their brothers in faith.
I would assume many in India also shares the same notion about Bangladesh, after all there were alleged retaliation in Tripura following the Comilla violence.
(Not saying these reasons justify hatred. My goal is not to defend, but merely explain. I'm simply describing the situation as it is. Not how it should be.

They always think they are right but ignore the crime that India is committing even now by naming some of the Bangladeshi important traditional products as their own. Okay, I am giving you guys the reason why Bangladeshi people hate India.
1. India is exploiting Bangladesh economically, for example, India is shutting down coal power plants and forcing the building of those coal powerplants in Bangladesh to keep India's coal Market alive and to export coal.
2. Despite being a small economic country, Bangladesh is India's 4th largest remittance source, and India gets nearly 13 to 14 billion USD as remittance from Bangladesh. And people of Bangladesh hate that many important job positions are occupied by Indians inside Bangladesh.
3. India is breaking international law on water distribution by using Farakka Barrage on the Ganga river and many other rivers, which causes severe famine and flood almost every year, and Bangladesh is facing huge economical losses.
I don't have time to write all the causes, but, as an educated Indian citizen, I am sure you will understand the rage.
And about the independence war in 1971, India had gained much more than it lost. Basically, India fought against Pakistan because of their own gain. Don't be naive and think India fought for the sake of helping Bangladesh. nobody is that crazy, They fought because they saw territorial control and economical gain, and a nice way to devied Pakistan.
I am feeling so shocked and sad by seeing Bengalis hating us, as a Muslim I feel ashamed of them. Grandfather lost his life in 1971 liberating this sorry country and today they have this thought about us. I'll try to explain why in my understanding, some Bangladeshis hate India, even though Bangladesh was oppressed by Pakistan and helped by India.
1. Cricket - most Bangladeshis feel India influences ICC and wins unfairly, especially, against Bangladesh.
2. Religion - India is a hindu majority country and any incident of oppression by Hindus on Muslims in India is circulated by Muslim preachers in Bangladesh. So, general public has the impression that Muslims are not safe in India.
3. Indian politics - Most Bangladeshi believe India's ruling government's agenda is to use Hindu sentiment against Muslims.
4. Ind-BD Politics - Some decisions taken by India were against Bangladesh. Eg: Farakka dam, shooting in some border areas, etc.
5. Running BD gov- People feel running BD government is well backed by India. This gov is selling BD to India. Some people are frustrated by the long autocratic reign of the running gov in BD.
6. History - In BD history, India's help during 1971 is recognized but it is portraited as support towards the end of the war (to finish the war) . War was won mainly because of the heroic demonstration of the freedom fighters.
7. Neighbors - this is my personal realization, there is always a sense of competition between neighbors. Also some sense of rivalry and hate. (india - pk, india - China, usa - mex, china - japan, koreas)

At the end of the day, it is just ungratefulness to me. Russians if you did not realize this, helped Bangladesh more than they did India back in that war which they helped in, because it was done to free you Bangladeshis. Yet, India is having at most gratitude for the Russians, even if Putin does the most evil of things, we will never hate him. Now that is the difference between Indians and Bangladeshis ok, Indians have that kind of gratitude and loyalty for a nation who has helped us so much, in freeing someone else and not ourselves. Remember, not just Russia, but also Israel also helped us. Israel and India, both helped Bangladesh, and because of Chuslam, these ungrateful bitches have started going against 2 countries, of whom are the very reason that they even exist.

That's not true. As a Bangladeshi myself I'll also say that most indian Hindus hate Muslims. Also India doesn't allow anyone in the county to eat cow meat not even Muslims in Eid and they call themselves peaceful and they say they respect and accept all religion.

@@shivammore9502 India always tries to have influences over Bangladesh and also other small neighbours. 1971 wasn’t that long ago and still fresh in our mind. So any such actions really gets into our nerves. Also damming our rivers stripping us water when needed but flooding us out when the dam overflows is just being a douchbag think about it. The people that got flooded have personal reasons to hate India now.
Bangladeshis may not like India and its their choice, their opinion but There are many Bangladeshis who are surviving just because they are working and earning in India. I never hated or disliked Bangladesh until I saw this video seeing numbers of locals in Bangladesh don't like India. If asked they don't have the specific reason to justify their answer. I think these people have not seen, known or experience India.
