I want to move up to Alaska and become a Tribal Police Officer in a village. I want to help the Natives and keep the peace.

This is a problem here in Alaska. Alaska is still the best state in the USA nonetheless! I love my state!

Gross, no thanks. I love Publix being 3 minutes away, the interstate 5 minutes away. And 90 degree heat 6 months out of the year.

Having taught in the northwest arctic as a native new englander and conservative/libertarian I believe that the ultimate issue facing native communities is really a mindset that is, and the societal level, marxism and at the individual level, narcissism.
These people are living like the third world, paying astronomical prices for the basics, and are dealing with the most unholy levels of rampant abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, substance abuse, mental illness, and crime. My village was the most dysfunctional community I have ever witnessed. In the face of a failed state, these natives continue to have such toxic pride in their native status, and demonstrate the most severe racism toward outsiders I have ever experienced. When outsiders such as myself leave everything behind to come teach, learn about their culture, and try to contribute positive things to these communities, we are given the cold shoulder at best, and assaulted and driven out at worst. The native mindset is so completely committed to the idea that being a victim is a virtue, and that they, being native, are somehow superior, is true narcissism at its finest. Refusal to acknowledge the hellhole communities they have created, blaming everyone but themselves, and perpetuating this delusion through near constant generational trauma. It's like a cult mindset. Anyone who shows desire and ambition to leave for an education and or a better life with more opportunities, is seen as abandoning their people and looked down on. They have deluded themselves into thinking that the way they are doing things is sacred and all important, and deluding themselves out of actual progress. Keep waving your feathers for another thousand years, because that's not going to save you.

AG Barr showed a heck of a lot of heart going up there himself to get a first-hand look at what the problems are.

Alaska gives each of its full time residents each year a oil check because of the surplus cash that the state has off of oil. Looks like Barr should have suied the state of Alaska for not providing these citizens with police protection instead of given Federal Money to do the same.
