  • We will now establish Omron cp1h communication using the built-in USB connection. CX-Programmer will be used to communicate.
    The Omron CP1H series of programmable logic controllers are programmed from CX-Programmer. CX-Programmer is part of the Omron CX-One Factory Automation Integrated Tool Package. We will now establish communication with our CP1H PLC using CX-Programmer. We will be using the USB connection (Built into the CPU) as well as an RS485 connection using the CP1W-CIF11 module. The Start-Stop and Jog circuit that we developed last time will be transferred to the PLC unit. We will then verify that the program in the PLC is the same as the program logic in CX-Programmer.
    More information can be obtained on our website. This includes all of the links mentioned in this video.

    The purpose of this Omron CP1H Series is to get you familiar with this programmable logic controller. (PLC) Previously in this Omron CP1H series, we looked at the following:
    System Hardware
    accautomation.c...
    CX-Programmer
    accautomation.c...
    There are several reasons why we are using the Omron CP1H Controller. Here are just a few.
    - Standalone PLC with built-in I/O
    - Communication ability - Ethernet Port, RS232, RS485 - support for protocols such as Modbus, Host Link, ASCII (No Protocol)
    - Built-in Analog inputs and outputs
    - 4 axis control of motion
    - 4 high-speed counters
    - powerful instruction set (similar to CS and CJ series)
    - Ability to expand the system with a variety of modules
    The Omron CP1 series of programmable logic controllers consists of three different units. CP1E is the cost-effective unit, CP1L is the high performing controller that can come with embedded Ethernet and the CP1H is the position control and comprehensive programmable logic controller.
    We will be looking a the CP1H for this series, but a majority of the information can be applied to the CP1E and the CP1L controllers as well.

      It sounds like the program is password protected. You will have to contact the programmer or Omron for assistance with the password.

    I'm trying to connect my Omron CP1H with my PC using ethernet cables through router. The CP1H is equipped with CP1W-CIF41 ethernet option board which the ethernet cable is plugged in. I'm not sure how the configurations are on CX-Programmer and which IP address I should use.

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Zariq,
      You must first connect to the unit via the Ethernet/web browser. The default IP address is 192.168.250.1.
      Enter the following address in your browser:
      Default web address: 192.168.250.1/E00.htm (E00 for English)
      Default Login Password: ETHERNET
      Once you change the IP address to 0.0.0.0. You can change the IP address through CX-Programmer. If the address is not on 0.0.0.0, the CX-Programmer can only read the address.
      Here are a couple of links that will help you out.

      I tried doing what you suggested but I can't open the IP address on the browser and I checked the D memory on CX-Programmer where the IP address supposed to be shown if it was changed but all of the memory are empty. However, the COMM indicator light on the CP1W-CIF41 was blinking. Any more suggestions? Please.

      Update: I clicked Transfer to PLC on the memory window and it load up all the memory. I checked DM32155 and DM32156 and the IP address is 192.168.250.1. But I still can't open it through browser or go online.

    is there any way to simulate our ladder logic program without having the plc???

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Norman,
      You must have the PLC to simulate your ladder logic program. Omron does not provide this feature for this series of the controller.
      Omron has a simulator for the CS/CJ series.
      www.edata.omron.com.au/eData/Software/CX-One/R151-E1-02.pdf
      CX-Simulator enables you to realize SYSMAC CS/CJ series CPU Units in your computer as a virtual
      PLC and operate (simulate) it equally as actual CPU Units.

    If We're communicating to the CP1H PLC via the serial communications, then can we use the USB cable connection also?
    can you communicate with this PLC without BOTH communications cables connected at the same time? AKA could you program it via the USB connections and have the PLC communicate with a HMI at the same time (RS232) ?/
    Great tutorials BTW Gary! I've subscribed to your channel, very helpful!

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Eric,
      Yes you can communicate to the PLC with both communication cables connected at the same time. The RS232 can be used for programming or the HMI.
      The USB connection is just for programming.
      Thanks for subscribing to the channel Eric.

      Since you can communicate and download, I would think that it may not be the cable. Here are a couple of additional thoughts:
      - Try another computer and see if you are still getting the same errors?
      - How long is the cable? Is it by itself or connected with other cables in a tray? The cable should be isolated so noise will not interfere.
      - Try selecting a slower baud rate. The slower baud rate will be more tolerant of noise and work over a longer distance.
      - Try closing your background applications on your computer. (Anti-Virus, etc. ) Maybe this is taking up too much time and timing out the serial port.
      Let me know how you make out.

      Garry

      Hi Marjan,
      What is the model number of the HMI Panel?
      Has this worked in the past?
      If it is an Omron HMI then selecting any two corners will call up the menu of the HMI. Look under the port settings to ensure that they are the same as the PLC.
