You have the right mindset. Your recovery is going great. Don’t rush the rehab; you’ll get to where you want to be in time. If you’re up to it and find it interesting or fun you might give visualization archery a try. You can do it seated or laying and mimic with empty hands or simply imagine the act. If you like to be outside you might do it there. “Shoot” and “feel” a couple ends in your mind for fun and even watch videos of yourself shooting, imagining and reliving the feelings you are familiar with is great training and I think it’s something you’d really excel at because of your mental toughness and genuine enjoyment of life. I’ll shoot some arrows for you too 👍. thanks for sharing. Heal up, buttercup! 🏹 🌈
Please keep us all posted on your recovery. A piece of advice, go easy on yourself and look forward to accomplishing the little goals of recovery. Start small, accomplish that goal and repeat. And build up to the bigger goals, don't get discouraged as long as you keep moving forward!! Love and prayers to you, Steve. Blessings
Glad to see your able to share what you’ve been through so far! I know it’s a tough thing to go through. Been watching and enjoying your videos for a few years now. Your a strong man and will make it through this . Had cancer a few years ago and it really is tough coming back from these things. Will be praying 🙏🏻 for a full recovery and a long life!
I’ve been watching your videos for years.I’m so glad you made it through surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery and wish you the best!
Steven God bless you…I went thru the same thing last yr, but I had a major heart attack…I going to encourage you to take it slow, but continue to walk every day. It took me 6months and I worked out from December thru August and got myself back in archery shape - brother your going to do great…keep a positive attitude don’t listen to anyone who tells you your life is going to change..I told my doctor I’m going back to my normal life and activities…I’m 65 and shooting competitively and have won several tournaments…I say this because you and I grew up very similar after listening to your podcast…keep the faith and thank God for your blessings and good doctors. I’ll be praying for you Steven - hang in there🙏🙏🙏
Had 5 way bypass 2 years ago first few months were no fun, never had to do any pre operation drugs or anything.just go into hospital ,next day it was done .give it six months and you’ll be back to normal.
I had triple bypass surgery in 2015. You will feel great soon. 👍
I am 72. As a young man, I ran, lifted weights, and did martial arts. At 43, I began to have sensations I knew were not normal. It lead to a one bypass heart surgery (the widow maker). 10 years later I had one stent put in on the back side lower sections of my heart, which was not super critical; that was in 2003. I have not had a heart episode since. What I learned was that the technology is incredible. About 9 months after surgery, I began to shoot my recurve again. At some point I returned to weight lifting and martial arts training. The point? You have many miles ahead of you. Get your diet where it needs to be, keep up the exercise and be patient. You have many good days ahead.
Days in the hospital- my 76 year old friend got stung by a yellow jacket wasp. He’s allergic to their venom. Was out in the pasture 70 miles from hospital. Local paramedic got life flight chopper, his second time doing this bee sting thing, to the hospital. Had a heart attack as they landed. His damage was unrepairable in this town so they flew him 500 miles toDallas. He ended up 72 days in the hospital. He’s back feeding his cattle like it never happened. This was like 6-7 years ago. Toughest SOB I EVER KNEW.
Just had a double bypass 2 weeks ago, the widow maker almost got me, Everything you describe sounds exactly like how I feel, I'm going to follow along and I thank you for the great detail. This is a rough surgery and recovery, coughing is brutal painful.
Had a major heart attack, and bypass surgery. I KNOW what you are going through. Heard the doctor say the same thing about the truck.🙏🙏 I was in the ICU for 3 weeks, had 2 emergency procedures, and was life-lined back to the hospital, after being home for 1 day. This was 4 1/2 years ago.
Glad to see you are doing well ! My dad went through a quadruple bypass in the mid 80s and that was a new procedure back then and he made a full recovery
Nice to see you back Steve. Take care of yourself and take it slowly. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Steve thank you for sharing your experience mate, all our thoughts and prayers are with you for an awesome recovery

What an amazing story for anyone at risk from heart problems. I'm looking forward to hearing a lot more from you giving inspiration to others who may have gone through similar surgery.

Praying for you Steven in the Name of Jesus that you are completely healed. May our Lord bless you with un-limited peace, health and wealth for all the days of your flesh life on earth, God bless you and family Brother.
I have has several surgeries since 2015, the most important one was when I had a kidney removed. I experienced somewhat the same as you mentioned about not remembering leaving recovery and going to my room. I didn't realize that for a few weeks. That surgery, as I was told, was a BIG surgery and there would be some side effects. The lack of memory is one and a back thrown so much out of whack that I can barely walk at times. The table I was operated on just didn't have any kind of support, and the drug they pump into someone going thru major surgery paralyzes the patient and that causes all kinds of muscle aches and pains. Chiropractic should help but I just started the adjustments a year after kidney removal. I too am slowly recovering, and I am really wanting to get to shooting my bow again. I am glad you are on the mend. I just started watching your videos and wondered about your health when you said something about taking a while to get back in shape. I looked through your videos until I found this one and then I knew.
Get well Brother. Don't over-do it.👍
Great to see that your recovery is traveling normally. So sorry that you had to go through all this. I’ve watched most of your vids. It is so good to get a patient’s perspective on the details of their ordeal. These procedures are much more common now but those of us without direct experience can’t emphasize and understand properly. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery Steve. Take care.
I feel your pain. Had the same op' ten years ago. Everything you've described is normal. Yep you feel like you've been in a car crash. It will get better honestly. It just takes time. I used to set exercise goals. Walk to the bottom of the drive, walk to the lampost, walk round the block. Be patient it will improve. Good luck
Steven I'm very happy your doing well!!!! You hang in there! Stay strong.....God bless from Oregon
Get better Steven. I'm rooting for you sir.
Great to see you back. You've been through more than most of us ever will be faced with and from here on things will only get better. Best wishes for 2023 & a full recovery.
Thanks for the update, glad the surgery went well and you are back home safely. As others have said, little steps to start. You youngsters rush too much. Best wishes from Cornwall UK.
From the USA here and your in my thoughts and prayers and I’m shure it will only get better from here just like they said it would, just keep being strong and hang in there you will be pulling a bow back in no time
Glad you’re back!!! Thank you for sharing.
Please do not let them take your gallbladder! You need it to help digest good healthy fats!! You will regret letting them take it.
Love your videos! Keep up thr good work, brother!!
We appreciate you sharing your medical journey. Hang in there and take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll be back at it.
Hi Steven, I wish you all the best that you can fully recover and find your way back to your old strength.
Great account of your experience. I came to this video after seeing a later-stage one. I'm now three months out from CABG. Wish I could have seen this before. My experience was similar in broad lines. You look good at this stage, very alert, lucid. I felt old at that stage. DIdn't last long.
We love you Steve.. Happy to see you're out mate. I imagine it's goanna be hard getting back to 100%, but hopefully not too long.
Stay strong mate. God bless
Get well soon Steven!!! Glad to see you you're well.
Kind regards Robert from Hungary.
She's right mate 10 years ago I went through a 6 way bypass. Thank God they found a herniated blood vessel which was about to burst at anytime, they scheduled me into surgery the very next morning. Sounded like it was sort of a emergency, they way they acted. I guess I was very lucky I went in for a plain old physical, (never felt bad) the day before, then all this going on. You'll be right mate, glad you had the bypass, sure your feeling a bit weak, and lost weight, etc., but soon you'll come right, and shooting you bow, and running your business, guaranteed.
It’s good to see you back. You don’t get any rest in a hospital for sure. Hang in there it will get better.
Praying for you!! I bought a PSE in the States because of you. Appreciate you.
heres to hoping you have a speedy recovery, take care yourself, btw, nurses are the greatest people anywhere
so sorry you had to go through this tough heart by-pass-My best friend had his surgery 2yrs ago & is doing fine. My music teacher always stressed to crawl before you walk, walk before you run. It's good advice. take it slow & recover soon. I miss your archery reviews.
Steven, We all love You, what You’re doing, and how You do it ❤ Just take care of Yourself buddy, it’s so good to see You :)
I prayed very hard for you my friend I got to say seeing you rough like that really touches my heart buddy I'm very thankful to God that you're alive and I pray that you have a speedy recovery and this will help many people in his help thank you this is hard it's hard to look at it's hard to not ball my eyes out it's very scary we all live and we all die but the better we take care of ourselves as humans it realize the truth about food what it does to you this has helped me so much I appreciate you and I will make it to see you we will shoot
Your my favorite reviewer, we believe in you, take baby steps to get to your goals, stay hard!
We’ve missed your videos (even the long standing archery widow) we are so pleased to see you back. Wishing you a good recovery ❤️🩹 and all the best for the future.
I wish you well. You have a very sensible approach to the healing processs, and I am sure in time you will be back to health and archery.
Glad to see surgery went well, wish you a fast recovery! I'm sure you'll be back at it in no time.
Glad your getting better mate, hopefully be back to 100% in no time, I've been to public hospital a few times and it's been mixed experiences but it's very emotional, I do think the nurses need a pay rise, even putting up with me being nice to them still wouldn't be a fun job especially if you can't move and you probably felt more depressed from the pain killers and just laying in bed, I had a button that would put 40mg of morphine and after using it would come back on in 15 minutes and the nurse said use it as much as possible but I used to have a addiction to opiates so I think I used it maybe 1 or 2 times a day and then said i didn't need it on 3rd day, I'm glad you knew to stay away from them, anyway glad to see your on the mend and can't wait to see you hitting x in no time.
Prayers for a full recovery, Steven!
Awesome to see you back . 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Steven, I wish you well in your recovery.
Buddy you are still young! I look forward to your first bow review after this.
I’m glad you are out of the hospital. Take it easy and follow your instructions.
Steven , welcome back to the land of the living and May you have a full and speedy recovery. I can tell you that from my own experiences with a major recovery from full liver transplant, the human body is truly amazing. Remember this one thing my friend, when the body is beaten , the mind will make it go but when the mind is beaten all is lost. Tell yourself this over and over as you journey through your recovery as it will help you stay focused on the end prize which is full recovery. It’s been some seven years since my recovery and I still use this line of thought to aid in my continued health. I think both you and I are alike and you will not be defeated, ever !!❤
you got lucky mate.. my father went in for a quadripple bypass at the age of 63.. had a huge stroke the day after the surgery and was in a nursing home for 3 years after then passed away due to more strokes.
Stay strong my friend. Good to see you back
God bless you you made me take a double take about how precious life is
Hi Steve, stay positive and happy. Looking forward to seeing more of your vid's and hopefully catch up with you at the shop in March when I come over.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Praying for you buddy. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Having experienced heart problems let your heart recover. Drink alot of water. Build up as you can don't make yourself sick.
Thank you for the video, so glad to see you are better, wish you a fast and full recovery!
I'm so glad you came through it okay. We've got a friend who - being a former addict - wouldn't take ANY pain killers, and he's a stubborn bugger. He ended up having the same operation as you, and he went straight back to work 2 weeks later despite warnings from the medical team, from all of us and his wife. He regretted this and advised anyone going through the same procedure to take the meds and take it easy. It does get easier, it is worth it and you will feel better than had you not had the surgery. Gall bladder removal, my sister says "Go for it! Best thing I ever had done to me!". I've spoken to Lisa of people who've had this done and they've all said they wished they'd had it done earlier.
Do what you need to do and we'll all still be here for you, rooting for you....erm, okay, that means something different down-under....as does that.....erm....
Take care mate
Hi Steven, it’s so wonderful to see your ok and on the road to recovery! Steven my friend please take care and get better. My prayers are wt you.
Add mine to the outpouring of well wishes. Glad to see you're up and around. I too went through the recovery routine. Take your time, you'll get there. Your ward experience was similar to mine had a couple of obstinate ward mates that made life somewhat uncomfortable. God bless the nurses they were all wonderful. Here's to a steady recovery.
Sorry to here that
I've been a fan of your stuff a while now.
My dad had many heart attacks and had a bipass hope you get back fit soon
A break from archery is hard enough if it's only a muscle
Best wishes from Germany, speedy recovery.

Just watched your video, a great insight for everyone. Look forward to seeing you back in the shop and in time, the range. Best wishes from BAC.
Our thoughts are with you, just get better, and get off all the meds as soon as possible.
Looking like crap Steven, but that doesn't matter as long as you are getting better. When I had spinal fusion I was out for a couple of months, so thoughts go out to you. Take it easy and hoping things go well for you.
Happy you're well and back. Stay positive. 👍
Speedy recovery!
Good to see your back home and making good progress. Thanks for sharing your experience. Such a shame nurses have to take so much abuse when they do such a fantastic job of looking after people. Take care mate.
Glad you still with us get well
